Feedback for first build

Hey guys,

Just wanted to get some insight from the people, i've been searching arround for building my pc and compiled a list with parts, any recommendations or changes are welcome.

The main reason for this PC is gaming, i have a 27 inch 1440p gsync display so that's what i'll have to power up, might hookup my old 24 inch 1080p monitor as a 2nd one(not sure yet)

The reason some specs are so high is because i like to future proof my build for atleast 5 years with the exception of the GPU that will need an upgrade every 2 years ish

Motherboard: GIGABYTE Z390 GAMING X (rev. 1.0)

CPU: Intel® Core i9-9900K

CPU cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock Slim BK024

SSD: Samsung 970 EVO Plus, 500 GB SSD

HDD: Seagate BarraCuda, 4 TB hdd

So what GPU do you have? And you dont need an GPU Upgrade every 2 Years. With Gsync, even 40 fps in RPG´s MMO´s ect. it smooth and nice.

Edit: IMPORTANT! Get 2x8GB RAM not 1x16GB!

I'm dumb sorry,

GPU will be a GTX 1080 that i still have from my upgrade about 2 years ago, i'll be upgrading that probably when the next generation of nvidia cards releases, the RTX lineup seems to expensive for the upgrade i would get

OS will be windows 10

Far too powerful CPU for my tastes, not a fan of the case and MoBo brand, GPU over priced vs AMD offering and not enough SSD storage.

500GB should be enough if used as Gaming storage. Yes the CPU is way over the Top, but i would take it :P

Going by what GamersNexus has to say, don't go for the 'i' iterations of NZXT's cases, they're simply not worth the extra cost -
GamersNexus (11 Oct 2019) - NZXT's Smart Device Doesn't Do Anything | CAM ANR Deep-Dive

GamersNexus (17 Oct 2019) - Bloatware Benchmark: RGB Software vs. Performance (iCUE, CAM, & More)

The GPU is still very good and unless you're gunning for something like ray-tracing, it's not worth really worth upgrading in my opinion. Also, it might be worth holding off considering the rumours of Intel's discrete graphics cards being out in the wild by the end of next year. They could be the extra competitor the GPU space needs to get prices and improvements kicked into higher gear.

Would a intel i7 9700k suffice instead of the i9 aswell?

When you can get a 3700X for less why would you go with a 9700K ? At 1440p there won't be much of a difference.

Winter is Coming.
