Recreate desktop icons

LewisSpring

Hey peeps,

I moved some of my icons from Public\Public Desktop to $me\Desktop, and when i update applications etc, A second icon reppears.

Is there a way I can have all my icons to be recreated and placed in their appropriate folder? (EG: Public Desktop or $me Desktop)

Thanks!

When you install the application, pick "Only for me" if the option exists. If it does not, contact the software company and request it as a feature in their future release of software. Alternately, uncheck the box to make a shortcut on the desktop, and make your own.

Hi GoodBytes, thanks for replying.

I think you've misunderstood my question. Apologies if I wasn't clear. I want to know if there is a way I can have a program or script mass re-create all desktop icons that would've been made when the programs were installed.

I think simple bat script can do that, but not automatically - only on request.

Hello there.

Sorry for the lack of response!

Would you know how this could be done?

Thanks!
