What parts should I upgrade first?

Recommended Posts

Hello, soon I will getting my paycheck and I will have around £300 left over that I can spend on my pc. I am just unsure what is best to upgrade first. My main game rn that I play is OverWatch, but I will probably be playing games like Cod and similar fps in the future. At the moment I have 8Gbs of ram(unsure of the speed), I have an Intel Pentium g4560 and a 1050ti. I would imagine the most important thing to upgrade would be my processor, but any advice on better things would be really useful or if I should just wait even longer to spend more money on even better upgrades would be a better option, thank you in advcance :)

Do you have enough storage space for the new COD? Rumor has it to be around ~150gb requirement. Your FPS wont matter if you cant install

I know that Overwatch can consume even a whole i5, I recommend a 6600 or something off eBay.

also be sure to quote us or use @AHaskin14so we see your responses

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k (won) - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Kill Trident Z RGB - Force MP500 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - The venerated Hyper 212 Evo (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G2 650W - Black and green theme, Razer branwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

Linux Proliant ML150 G6:

Dual Xeon X5560 - 24GB ECC DDR3 - GTX 750 TI - old Seagate 1.5TB HDD - Dark moded Ubuntu (and Win7, cuz why not)

EVGA G3 thread, BR/BT threadSeasonic Focus thread, S12II/M12II thread, Userbenchmark (Et al.) is trash explained, PSU misconceptions

The new COD is very well optimized as long as it runs how it did in the beta when it's full releassed, but even then it won't run too well on a Pentium dual core. I also think you need to upgrade to a better CPU. Depending on your mobo you can upgrade to a non k, i7 or i5 of the same generation or you can go for a full upgrade to a newer Ryzen CPU.

You can go for something like this for £250 or change it to a Ryzen 5 3600 for only £317.
