1440P Widescreen GPU

MorbidNature

Im planning on upgrading my screen to a 1440 Widescreen, but im not sure my 1070TI can still hold his only at that res, so im considering upgrading.

not sure if i should for a 2060 super/ 5700XT (or maybe a 2070 if the price is right)

Now two important notes:

1. I don't plan on gaming over 75FPS - I'm focusing on color accurate, high contrast, 10 bit displays for my work, so refersh rate will probably be 60/75Hrz

2. I don't play a lot of AAA titles (just Cyberpunk 2077 when it comes  out :) ) so I probably woun't be pushing the limits but i still want to make sure I can max out most settings.

honestly, besides that cyberpunk 2077 thingie, your 1070Ti should do the trick and handle 1440p ultrawide with ease as you do aim for 60-75fps.

i was running 2 1080p Displays and one 1440p ultrawide off of my Laptops 1070 (non maxQ) and it did the Job.

maybe wait for Cyberpunk 2077 and see if there are GPU bundles that include the game once ist released.

IMO 1070Ti is fine for 1440p UW @60fps

You could literally get 2 used Vega 64's and run them in crossfire for cheaper than a single of those cards. Just get 2 used Vega 64's for that price, it's an easy 120FPS-ish in 1440p. Or get a single Vega 64, you'd still get roughly 75FPS in 1440p with it (and at only $250 per card).

New cards aren't good value. Always buy used last-gen for best price to performance.

If you're already set on getting a 1440p display then just go for it and see how your graphics card holds up.  2560x1440 @ 60-75 Hz should be fine for your 1070 Ti.

If you find the performance lacking, then upgrade the GPU.  If you're happy with it, then you've saved yourself the cost of a new GPU.
