Dual monitor setup only 1 turns on.

Hey there! I have a dual monitor setup, i have my main monitor i have had for a month or so, it works with VGA, then an old tv which works with hdmi. The thing is when i power them both up, only the main monitor works, when i disconnect the main monitor, the TV starts working, when i plug in the main monitor again, it switches to the monitor and taking the signal from the TV, why does this happen and how can I fix it?

You have to have both displays attached, then press win+P and select Extend

ok i just did that, umm it still doesn't send signal to the tv, it detects the tv, but the tv doesnt get the signal

What hardware are you using anyways? 

Maybe it only supports one monitor output?

I am using a GTS 250, i googled and it said it does support 2 monitors, i am unsure if that is true tho

What actual resolution do both screens have? Both 1080p?

one is 1360x768 and the other is1080i

Someone suggested to me in discord I need a DVI-> VGA adapter, but im just broke, that is the solution so there ya go

How do you currently connect a vga monitor to a dvi port?

i do not. I connect an hdmi to an hdmi port and a vga to a vga port, + i enabled my integrated graphics so the vga is running off that
