Looking for opinions about my choice

Go to solution Solved by genexis_x,

The reason of why I ignored your spreadsheet is because you're only comparing specs - one of the main thing to look at when buying gaming laptop is cooling performance / thermals

Avoid Asus FX and GU502 - mediocre cooling. Also Asus laptops have poor QC+QA and warranty service in general so I tend to not choose them, even though some of their models are good (I would still recommend them but buy at your own risk)

G531 is decent but only i5-9300H for your budget

Suggest increasing budget for more options unless you're fine with lower end GPU

Hi

My old laptop (Lenovo Y700-17ISK) died so I have to buy a new one.

I think 1050, 1060 are not strong enought compared to a 1660ti and 2060 isn't that much stronger than more expensive.

So I made an excel with the main points. Do anybody know a better price/performance laptop than what I choosed?

Or just drop your opinion :)

Thanks

I gaming on it from minecraft to Battlefield V. But Apex my main dish for now :P Later I want to play Anno 1800 but it is too expensive now.

Look into Gigabyte’s Aero series of laptops. They are light and thin, decent battery life and awesome performance.

I got a ps5 and a pc pretty ballin

I am from Hungary. Around 1000€. What do you mean by usage?

I prefer light laptop with big battery because sometime I need to carry it and I want to watch films without the powercord.

I don't need 17" because it is heavy. But if there is one with a light weight I don't mind.

Sorry I don't want to be ungrateful because you help me but can you read the previous 2 message and my xls?

But https://www.digiprime.hu/ http://radium.hu/ https://www.pcland.hu/

I don't have exact numbers for weight and battery.

My Lenovo was heavy to carry around and that's why I want a lighter one. Also I want be able to watch a movie without go under 50% so at least 5 hours maybe. But you know These are not written on a stone.

Than what do you suggest? In the GU502 76Wh battery and less than 2 kg? Some laptop with similar or better spec for 1100 euro? As I read they said it isn't that bad in thermals.

But I would gladly take anything that perform well light and big battery

Yes :) I see Lenovo Y540 just dropped the price with almost 200 euro so I consider that too.

Also I would buy Asus but now the sale ended and I don't get 300 euro worth of extras so if they can't give me that GU502 dropped.

So what are your suggestions?

Y540 then. Just make sure the BIOS isn't 28WW or newer, otherwise roll back to older version
