Bought wrong monitor?

KayPeters123

So i watched Hardware Unboxed their videos on the best FreeSync monitors with NVIDEA GPU's. They listed AOC G2590FX 24inch, but i bought the 27 inch one called AOC G2790PX

Problem is the 27 inch one isnt listed on NVIDEAS website as compatible with NVIDEA GPU's. Should i cancel it and buy the 24 inch one instead or does it not matter?

NVIDIA (not nvidea) using GSYNC. Some Freesync monitors is compatible but not all.

Look up the monitor website for list of features, if it is compatible with gsync it will show it there.

https://eu.aoc.com/en/gaming-monitors/g2790px/specs

shows no gsync compatibility.

But i done some research, turns out it is compatible, though i cannot guarantee, since the list is crowd sourced.

The smaller one listed as compatible in nvidia website, but not in AOC.

It uses the same panel with the 27 inch, so i think it is compatible.

Do you have return policy? If it doesn't work you can return it.

Btw the support only for pascal gpu and up (GTX 10xx /16xx / 20xx)

I never go thru compatible list.  It is BS.  Just like RAM lists.  Ive used RAM that is not listed and no problems.  My old mans 9900k the RAM wasn't listed but she works great.  No Issues.  Same goes for monitors my friend.. just imo and sorta fact.

Well that’s not entirely true for g sync. Ryzen first gen also had issues with certain rams

That's why the crowd sourced list existed, unlike Ram list which is 90% of the time unlisted ram works, monitors do not have the same probability.
