I7 3rd gen, or I5 3rd gen

Hey I have been using a I5 3570k for a good while now, nothing is wrong with it, but I plan to start streaming soon (nothing crazy, just like Minecraft CsGo and other lighter games) and I want to know should I upgrade to a i7 3rd gen to get it to stream better? I know it won't be insanely better as it would still be 4 cores, but those 4 more threads would help. Is it worth it?

Try and find a used i7 2600K or i7 3770K.

I’d keep an eye out for good deals on 3770s

the

motherboards of 3rd gen Intel seem to by dying off regularly around this age and so there will be a few people selling their 3770 chips on when their mobo dies.

if you can do the upgrade for cheap then by all means do it, but if you’re paying strong money you’re probably better off selling what you have now and buying a Newer platform.
