VRM waterblock

My next project is formulating, please advise!

 

ASRock B450 Pro 4 ATX - I believe I need to put the block (got to find one that fits) on the chips (X's down the line), then the larger blocks (numbered) can either be air cooled or can have the heat pulled from the side by the block I put on the chips...or put a block on them as well?

Is this ineffective or as effective as good air cooling?

Yes.  Most VRM/CPU blocks cover both the Mosfets (Xs) and the Chokes (Blocks), but the mosfets are the most important thing to keep cool.  Unless you are going for extreme OCs, good airflow is usually enough for these components.

Not on this board (extreme) - wont do it then (I have great airflow), as to me it presents more potential leak points if I mess up lol
