Bluetooth randomly disconnects and stop working properly

Yongtjunkit

Hi,

I'm having an issue with my laptop where out of nowhere, my Bluetooth device would disconnect and won't be able to reconnect again.

programs running at that time: task manager, Chrome, Macrium Reflect

Laptop specs

Asus x550cc

OS: Windows 10 education 64bit( this problem occurred before upgrading from Windows 10 home single language to windows 10 education) - laptop is preloaded with Windows 8 single language

CPU: Intel Core i5 3337U

Ram: 12GB ddr3

SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 500GB

GPU: Intel HD graphics 4000, Nvidia gt 720m*

* Nvidia GPU driver version is 311.93 due to some artifact caused by the newer version of the driver, windows 8.1 driver from Asus doesn't work as well

Wifi /Bluetooth adapter: Qualcomm Atheros AR9485WB-EG ( comes with the laptop)

update wifi and bluetooth driver. download from asus website. if they dont have them there, or that doesnt fix the problem, download from intel website.

the Bluetooth driver on the Asus website doesn't work properly with Windows 10, Bluetooth device won't be able to see the laptop.

as for the intel website, my laptop wifi and Bluetooth adapter is Qualcomm Atheros AR9485WB-EG

It would seem you do not have proper Windows 10 drivers then...

As for that, my only solution is to factory reset. Also, Education is not an upgrade from Home.

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)

Well I do have 2 routes, do I use the initial clean(presumably) image that I created after I clean install windows 10 ( with driver and macrium reflect installed on the image) ( reimage the laptop)

-or-

do another clean install of windows 10

by the way, I’ve downloaded the Bluetooth driver from this website

http://ivanrf.com/en/latest-asus-drivers-for-windows-10/#usb-charger-plus

update: I’ve secured erase the ssd and reimage the laptop with the initial image of the laptop

So far I’ve done a secure erase on my SSD and did a clean install of windows 1903( insider fast ring)

so so far no Bluetooth issue
