Max Payne 3 PC not detecting full amount of VRAM on Vega 56

So I wanted to play Max Payne 3 on PC since I bought it a while ago but never got around to playing it.

 

And it's only detecting 3GB of VRAM and not 8GB as my card has.

 

 

This is a problem cos I want to play it using VSR at 4K since it's an older game and my Vega has the horsepower to do it.

 

Is there any way to fix this issue?

there was a tweak with GTA4 back in the day, where it wouldnt recognize the available vram fully, add this to your launch options in steam and see if that works.

(PS: play it at the hardest setting, game is too easy)

I don't own it on Steam. I bought the Social Club retail version.

I'm sure the measurement thing there is purely cosmetic and the game doesn't actually care how much VRAM you have. So even if you can't fix it or run into another game that reports incorrect VRAM (like how Resident Evil 2 Remake shows 0 in this case: https://kotaku.com/resident-evil-2-remake-on-pc-has-a-fantastic-graphics-m-1832085885), just ignore it.
