Hello! Ever since I installed windows 11, when I boot up as I had win 10 on my hdd and win 11 on my ssd it always brings me up a prompt saying if I want to boot into windows 10 or 11. In my bios my ssd is the 1st in the boot sequence and is but waits 30 seconds for me to decide which version of windows I want to boot into but automatically after the timer boots into wins 11, luckily! So I was wondering if there's a way to get rid of that prompt and just boot to the first storage device in the boot sequence (my ssd) and always come back to windows 10 when I want to a different way or smthn. Right now my hdd is just being used to store files and pictures. Many Thanks, Fire!

https://www.theskinsfactory.com/wmpdesign Anyone tried this? Its not that i think its malware (already checked, if it is then its not known) but rather that some incompatibilities mess something up possibly?

Little bit of background I am in the process of building a new computer I wanted to try something new by using a RAID 5 setup, but, I am running into some problems for the most part I think I understand how to set it all up through bios but I am having issues figuring out what RAID card to get that best fits my needs been searching around on here for some answers and its kinda all over the place so I figured maybe this is a case by case sort of problem so ill list out what I have so far. First RAID 1/0/10 are not options I don't want to do them even though I understand they are simpler and require less work, I am pushing my self to do a RAID 5 setup. OS: Win 10 Drives: 6x Kingston 120GB A400 SSDs Type of RAID Card: PCIE x8 (no nvme/m.2 pcie) Don't think the rest of the computer matters at this point really just looking for information on what raid card to get; - what's the difference between Controllers and HBA controllers - is there really a need to go full controller over adaptor (maybe this isn't even the right question) - What performance hits will I take going with a lesser brand then over the industry standard brands (LSI vs Intel) - is there any other specifics about raid cards I should consider before buying one that I haven't covered. - what if any software do I need to manage my RAID 5 setup such as in the case if I lose a drive do I need software to rebuild the array. - should I have a raid card with a battery to improve redundancy or is this too cost prohibitive for typical home use. - what exactly is RAID "code" (looks like it has something to do with the algorithm that controls which data goes on what drive but im not 100% sure) and does it even matter for what I am trying to do? - when buying a raid card is ideal to buy 2 of the same card incase one craps out? (see a lot of people ask this question no real answer) - when buying a RAID card is buying used (ebay) considered a bad idea (mostly asking in terms of saving money if possible if I dont need to spend upward of 2000$ that would be nice but if its a must its a must) any help is appreciated thank you very much. edit: been adding some more questions as I am looking for the answers so you may want to refresh every so often if you are considering helping.

Gave the same issue of programs not working. (went blank for few minutes till i restarted the PC) Then I reinstalled the whole OS. Solved issue for the day i reinstalled then same issue now every now and then. not sure if this should be here or under linux So does anyone know how to stop windows 10 20h2 update from automatically reading and adding linux partitions to " disk management ". or should i completely destroy my win10 installation and maybe look for something that they havent fully back-ended, if there is even such a possibility at this point? Im sure they thought they were being helpful, but without my express permission to have done this, or even notifying me in the first place that it was going to happen it shows a complete lack of care both legally and morally in what a computer owner WHOM owns his/her/they hardware might wish to do with it. other than just windows. How am I going to know if something is specifically working in a different OS, if windows could be backdooring the other OS to give it a leg up/ take control from behind the scenes (" fast start up" anyone) ? not to mention that fair and legal has now proven a breach of trust of which it no longer deserves any respect.

Is there a way to force the default Hardware Cursor of windows to be on or remain visible even when games draw a software cursor? Many games have a software cursor that is laggy as shit cuz its tied to framerate or sth stupid Examples are High Fleet, Evil Genious 2 and Kenshi (Kenshi luckly has an option to "force Windows cursor") I also heard a game refer to it as "Hand of Evil" Is there a way to replicate that with windows settings or external software? Maybe have it be managed on a per application basis I cant find a suitable solution elswhere has a my exact problem but the tool suggested looks sketchy af

askgodtosaveyouu posted a topic in Troubleshooting
Hello everyone A couple of hours ago a program crashed "white screened" I was able to restart the computer from my second monitor. When it booted I was met with a black screen and cursor. No key combinations work reset graphics drivers, task manager nothing. I installed the latest BIOS didn't work, CMOS BATTERY change, all peripherals were removed, I tried to install win 10 from a usb same thing but the screen background was purple with a cursor, unplugged and swapped monitor cables, single monitor was tried also. Windows logo doesn't show when booting. Removed and reseated RAM sticks, removed NVMe ssds, the HDDS haven't been removed. -

Hi guys, I need a little help. So, I am not able to delete folders because it says "You require permission from *compname*\*username* to make changes to this folder" But I am the admin, and I've tried changing the ownership and permission to the folder and it still won't work. I got dozens of these empty folders and can't delete them I've also tried using some cmd commands to no avail.

Hey there! Windows 10's updates are really annoying and I would like to get rid of them, so I was wondering if installing a cracked version of windows would do the trick. Thing is, the laptop that I have already came with windows 10, so from what I understand, the key is in the bios. Is that wrong? If so, can I just uninstall win 10 and install the cracked version? Thanks!

Hi everyone, My laptop running windows 10 was acting up showing BSODs and freezing, and I fixed it by first restoring it to an earlier restore point and by completely reinstalling Intel's HD Graphics drivers and the Nvidia drivers. Now, everything seems to work fine again except that I am not able to type in the Search bar or any of the default Windows 10 apps (Store, Groove, etc.). I've tried a number of CMD and powershell commands, reinstalling updates, Troubleshooting through control panel, attempts at a system restore, messing around with task manager forcing Search.exe to quit, but nothing worked. Does anyone have a suggestion to what to do here? Thanks in advance!

Hello! I can't update Windows 10 Home 64-bit from version 1607 to version 1703. I can see one thing in the update history related to the Creators update and it's Privacy settings update but It already got installed a week ago. The newest update was today (KB3150513) for version 1607. If there's an error code somewhere, where I could find it? That might be helpful, i'm guessing... I have 46,7 GB of free space so I should at least have enough space. Could I use the Windows Media Creation tool to install the update? Would it delete all of my files (apps, games, videos etc..?) I know I can choose it not to delete my personal files and apps, but I just want to make sure that do I first need to backup something. Thank you!

Fellow Techies, I was working with Win 10 and it turned my main storage drive into a dynamic disk. My Win 7 home machine uses this same drive. This may not seem like an issue but it has caused many issue. I have several volumes (one of which Win 10 uses). How can I turn the hdd back to a basic without losing all my data? EaseUse is useless if you try to use the free version. I have a second drive to work with if that will help. This also causes a pain of a time to clone the drives.

fresh install What Do You Do After A Fresh Install
dual290x posted a topic in Programs, Apps and Websites
Hey guys, So I had to do a fresh install of Windows 7. I won't complain too much as it happened before school started and I can put everything on my 525gb ssd. I got to thinking about what other do after they get a fresh install. I want others to share what they do after they complete a fresh install of Windows. What settings do you change or add, what programs must be installed first, things like that. I always install Firefox first and foremost. Then I install the Windows Updates, and after that.... just my general programs, Powerchute, WizMouse, Microsoft Office, antivirus and Malwarebytes. I love my Teamviewer too. I don't mess with setting too much, I generally change what I need as I go. What about yall? -
Hi, so Recently ive been having some problems with my computer Hanging on me (as title specifies) this started yesterday while playing xcom WOTC thinking that it was the game i closed it down and launched some other games to find that i was having the exact same problem there too, now this isnt something that usually happens to me as my pc is frankly over kill for the display i am using at the moment (GTX 1080, Intel I7 6700K, 16GB ram and 2 solid state drives one for os one for games i use quickly and finally a 3 TB drive that i use for other games and misc programs and files, with a 1080p display) after snooping around my processes and finding nothing i gave up and reinstalled windows hoping that this will fix said issue though it hasnt in the slightest though the only thing i have to go on is my C drive is @ 100% all the time that these hangs are happening, (to specify what i mean by hainging, mouse and some on screen apps work like windows resource monitor though MSI afterburner stops with everything else on the computer. If theres anything you want me to try or if theres any info youd like to get to help me solve this issue please ask away, ill try to do what i can. (if there is another post like this one im sorry but i cant look through the website easily at the moment due to said issue, this took me way too long to type out and i cant watch any videos.
