Hello LTT peeps! I've been trying to post on here for while. I've been explaining my laptop issues here and there on the forum but nothing that directly addresses my issues. Also, been trying not to seem like the nagging and naive pest. So I'll try and be as detailed as I can here. So here I go! I wanted to get some hardware upgrades done for my laptop. Specifically, New keyboard, SSD upgrade and of course Ram. I got into contact with this dude who told me he owns a pc build and repair shop. When I reached out to him via email, he mentioned that he's spent years as a Computer technician specializing in hardware or something like that. Anyways... Eventually we agreed on a price for said upgrades and I then dropped off the laptop the next day at his house(He told me his shop is being renovated) After about a week, I enquired whether or not he's done with the upgrades. I was told that unfortunately he didn't have stock and was waiting for the parts to be delivered even though he did at first say all parts needed are in stock. I was not to phased and let 2 weeks go by and I then enquired once more and was told the courier delivered the wrong parts. I eventually got the laptop back after 2 months I think. (I'll have to double check but im sure it's not important) I did get the authorities and a lawyer involved to get my laptop back. Now, here's the list of problems I've had since getting it back: 1. Non of the upgrades were done. In fact, my laptop came back without one hard drive as well as broken key caps on my keyboard. Oh and a cheap, knock- off power brick that wasn't nearly enough to charge the laptop when switched on. 2. Both my steam and epic games accounts were compromised. 3. I found a bunch of suspiciously installed drivers and services that were both installed and running from device manager and task manager. 4. After eventually getting it back, it started to do strange boot loops would green screen crash with error codes such as: Memory integrity error, memory allocation errors and one or two other codes I can't remember right now. Now Call me paranoid but I'm very sure he never planned on returning the laptop and was using it as his own. Furthermore, It was confirmed by him to the authorities that he lied about being a technician. Oh, he also own a shop/store. My theory to the above mentioned issues is this: The Various Types of unknown Drivers and services that were installed/enabled are the problem. I'd like to ask you all for your suggestions so I can figure out how I can attempt a self repair here. I'm very much able to provide information such as what services were enable to the drivers that were installed. As well as the various types of apps, programs and software that I can guarantee wasn't installed before sending it to this dude. Hopefully, I posted this in the right place.. Anyways! Y Sorry for the long post guys, wish I could attach a potato for the long post. Best wishes. Mikey

I'd like some quick support here. I've exported a services list and I'd like to play around with it for a while but just for some precaution, I'd like to use the list which I just exported , if at all anything goes wrong (with the properties and everything) but I'm unaware how to. Any support would be appreciated

Hi, Today when I started my computer, I got a prompt from windows 11 defender saying that Local Security Authority is turned off and when I click "go to settings" I get the following prompt: "Page not available - The page you are trying to access has no supported features and is not available." (Image of the prompt attached). This only showed up today. The last time my windows updated was a few days ago (don't remember the exact date). I would like to fix this issue without having to reinstall/reset my windows. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

A numbers of services/processes are running in the background on my Taskmgr, and they look like they are duplicates, as seen in the picture below. Just wondering is this a normal thing, or is it an issue? Any of you going through the same? If so how did you take care of this issue? Thanks in advance.

Is there anywhere on the internet or anyone that I can go to where I could have software tests requested for specific use cases with certain hardware before I shove out the money on parts that I think will fit my use case? For example, a lot of my focus has shifted from gaming to primarily music, video, and photo production. Unfortunately, my 9700k can no longer keep up with the size of my projects and it struggles. I have thought about putting forth the money to upgrade to a 5800X, but I'm not sure the performance increase/decrease for the specific applications I use nor do I know if the money I'd need to shove out for a new CPU, MOBO, and CPU cooler (since I can't find the AM4 brackets and screws). If something like this doesn't exist already, someone should really hop on it. It sounds like a phenomenal service that could be provided, especially to professionals who use very specific pieces of software.

Common Questions: *Any virus or spyware found post install? (NO, checked with Malwarebytes, Dr.webs & Kaspersky) *Firmware might have to be downgraded on late batch phones? (that is indeed a maybe) *GMS works and can safely be updated? (YES, just search for it in browser and let it send you to the right place in the play store) *Google Payment system named Google Pay. (NO, Google has aditional security features so that is a no go...) *Severe bugs or glitches? (Nothing yet but I have been looking deliberately!) Firmware downgrade (only if method above fails)

I've been using Tunnlebears Remembear password vault/manager for some since its release. However they recently announced that they are shutting down the service and in a years time it was be unavailable for all users. In terms of secruity but also accessibility across multiple devices for one account, whats a great alternative to Remembear for multi device password vault & manager?

So I've been trying things to solve this problem, but I haven't found a solution anywhere: Sometimes after I boot up my laptop the audio service just won't respond. I can't play any audio from whatever program. I've looked at services.msc, and the audio service seemed fine and was running, but when I try to restart it it won't respond to anything and it stays at 'stopping'. (I've also tried windows' troubleshoot, but as expected to no avail) Has anybody had this problem? I highly doubt it, as I haven't found it anywhere, but it's worth a shot.

Hey all, I recently built a WDS Server for work and all has been nice and wonderful in the world of WDS Land. However the network usage is only around 100-200mbps even though its on a gig switch. Any ideas on why it would be only at this speed?

Google Play Services Keeps Stopping
Zhaxye posted a topic in Linux, macOS and Everything Not-Windows
My cousin has this Samsung J7 2016 for more than two years now. And for the past few months the "google play services" on his phone keeps stopping. I've tried to restart, removing cache, force stopping, but nothing works. My friend reccomended me to update the software, but Google Play won't open on his phone, and I've tried to manually install the app (downloading the newest version form google, and installed it manually) but failed to install the new software. I noticed that his Play Services is a little outdated, and I think that's the reason that it keeps stopping. Do you have any idea to help? -
I'm trying to fix a Oneplus X as it has been having storage problems, they don't support SD card as internal storage, and it's only got about 12GB of internal, which is annoying. (This is a secondary issue) I want to factory reset the phone, but I need to retain SMS and phone call logs if possible. I know that there is a app for backing up these, But, the main issue is, I can no longer install any apps to the phone as the Google Play store app has gone rogue. It's not in the app drawer or the apps list in settings. FYI: Android 6.0.1 9.94GB used of 11.54GB And, it's also getting this error everywhere (See attached)

Did you know that Netflix costs $7.26 in Japan and $9.05 in Bolivia, despite the latter having a much smaller library and being a far less wealthy country? Or that on average, Steam games cost 3 times more in Japan than they do in Argentina? Heres a research on this topic . Why do you think about such price differences? I was surprised by this:

Ok so I got an old program from an old pc running Windows XP, I've copied all the data to launch the program but I cannot launch the program as it gives me the error connection failed. I managed to recreate the problem on the original PC after stopping a service. I copied the data of this service to my Windows 10 PC and the only thing stopping me from running the program on Windows 10 is to run this service. I do not have the original installation media for this service so I need to make it work like this. When I try to launch sqlservr.exe it gives me the error : "SQL Server could not find the default instance (MSSQLSERVER) - please specify the name of an existing instance on the invocation of sqlserver.exe. If you believe that your installation is corrupt or has been tampered with, uninstall then re-run setup to correct this problem." Anyone know how to solve this ? Thanks in advance

So I've gotten this problem a lot of times already, and I don't know what I can do against it. (Not even Google; I know, shocking) Sometimes when I boot up my laptop (Acer Aspire E5-573 running windows 10 Home) the audio service won't respond to anything. I can't play any sound from any program. I use a mini-jack to usb adapter for my G430, but I've also tried the port on my laptop and the built in speakers; none of them have worked. The audio icon on the taskbar says "The audio service is not running", but services.msc and task manager say it is. If I try to restart it (via either way, or by cmd) it keeps saying 'Stopping'. I'm running the newest drivers for my G430 and the sound card, and I have installed the latest BIOS.

Every single website I go to says that in order to disable windows startup programs I have to go to task manager and go to the startup tab. The problem is that over half of all my programs/services that startup are not in the tab (in task manager). I can't figure out how to disable most of my programs from starting in the background because task manager doesn't list all of them. Can someone help?

I'm really looking forward to Amazon's quadcopter delivery program. Aside from the usual goods that Amazon sells, I'm hoping that the service will work with various businesses to act as a third-party delivery facilitator. Aside from pizza parlors, there isn't many restaurants that offer delivery in suburban areas. In large cities, I imagine delivery is much more prevalent because there is more of an incentive to do so. Used to have a Jamba Juice in my area. The nearest one would be an hours time round-trip. What would you like to see done with this type of service?

So I recently discovered that I can't access shared network folders using my PC (Windows 10 64-Bit) over Ethernet (Killer e2200 NIC) but I can if I use wifi on the same PC (Killer e2200 NIC). The only error I get is that the network path can not be found and when I click trouble shoot there is not problems found. The only possible cause that I've found is that I search for errors on the NIC it says there is a DNS lookup problem, the only source of this problem that I could find is that the netlogon service doesn't start when I boot and can not be manually started. When I attempt to start it I get the message: "The netlogon service on local computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do" I have made sure that the service has the right dependencies in the registry and have made sure that they are running. Does anyone know of any solutions to this problem?

In what appears to be a move to compete with Craigslist, Amazon is launching Home Services — a new section of the site that will allow customers access to 700 different services at launch. Need someone to fix that piece of tech that you are pulling your hair out over? This service aims to accomplish that goal. The service will provide customers access to pretty much any type of professional you would need — from extremely simple tasks to nuanced ones. According to The Verge, Amazon promises 60 seconds to buy a service, regardless of how large or small the task is. In order to avoid up-selling, all of the billing will be handled through Amazon. During the beta, there were apparently some billing issues which Amazon eventually took care of. It will be available in 41 states. I imagine the service will come to the other nine sometime after. The service sounds cool on paper, but I don't know if I would ever use it. What do you guys think? Is this something you would utilize? https://www.amazon.com/services/

Source: http://gizmodo.com/cyanogen-wants-to-wrestle-android-away-from-google-1681642100 I'm not sure what to say about this. As a oneplus one owner, my feelings toward cyanogen aren't as positive as they were before the whole india/micromax thing. Cyanogen can make a hell of a rom, but I can't agree with how they operate internally. Also the loss of google services is a HUGE hit in my opinion. I have integrated my life into many google services and loosing them might not be the greatest thing. However, I do support an open-source environment as it brings a lot of interesting things to the table. If cyanogen really wants to play rough with google, they better come correct.

Full article here: http://www.theverge.com/2014/10/20/7013409/china-is-staging-a-nationwide-attack-on-icloud If the users are using Firefox or Chrome, They will get the pesky pop-up of "this site is not safe" (we have all encountered it at least once before), but on this instance, it's actually a good thing this popped up as un-secure, But bad news for those who run the most popular browser Qihoo... The login page looks identical to Apple's official page and users who didn't notice wouldn't be any the wiser. It's not just Apple this is affecting either. It's also affecting Microsoft's Live account services as well such as OneDrive and Hotmail/outlook, (what ever they wish to call it) According to the Verge most users can get around this false re-direction with the use of a VPN, but due to the censorship in China, this might not be possible as most VPN's are blocked, you can also access the real iCould website using one of Apples many ip addresses but because of the level this "attack" is being issued at, The Great Firewall, many lead to believe it is the government trying to access users data after the previous move by Apple to encrypt all of the users data. Looks like China is not happy with Apples recent motives to keep users data private. Remind you of any one (*cough, FBI, cough*) Although, I don't know why they are attempting to stop users from using Microsoft's Live services, because I thought MS was always compliant with Chinese laws.
