Hello Everyone! I've been rather concerned with my laptops behaviour the last few months it's been confusing me a tad. I'll try to be as detailed as I can. It an HP's pavilion gaming laptop(Ryzen 5, Gtx1650) 1. The laptop has only been slow on Shutdowns, Restarts and startups recently. 2. Every so often it would green screen for a second or two and continue to boot into windows. Error code is something to do with memory. 3. The laptop was sent for an SSD and Ram upgrade. Unfortunately, the dude I sent it to was a bit of a showman and never did the upgrade. Took about three weeks to get the laptop back from this dude, after I had a lawyer get ahold of him as he didn't reply to any of my messages and such. Anyways, to get back to my point. The laptop since then has been rarher, weird.... I found a substantial amount of just weird programs and software. Additionally, lot of drivers and such that has either no signature or has been flagged as possibly malicious. 4. Quite a number of things listed in Device manager doesn't seem to make any real sense. 5. Software or drivers seem to have disappeared since the laptop came back. 6. Two caps on the keyboard is missing since I got it back( This is me just ranting) The most worrying symptoms are thus: 1. It would green screen at random times. 2. No real difference in speed after booting into windows. Only on the restart, shutdown and startups. 3. Runs hotter than usual - thermals reaching up to 95'C at times(Upon Gaming and heavy use) 4. Lastly, The various missing and drivers and the sketchy drivers. My self diagnoses is thus: the kink in the Armour is within some of these sketchy drivers and software. Here's what I've done to try and see if I can Fix it: I downloaded a script called tron which has been known to be HP friendly and specifically get rid of bloatware, Malware, cookie data analysis ect ect. Basically an all in one script to combat the issues. Alas, It would seem that the laptop still has issues. If anything, it did get rid of HP's bloatware but as of the main issues such as the drivers and such, It's still there and I'm so uncomfortable with it. I've checked the startup apps via task manager and most of the startup apps are still disabled( Something I did before sending it to this dude) I've tried to make semse of the event viewer and registry editor but my comprehension just isn't enough for me to understand or see if anything is wrong within those two. I ran Malwarebytes(Via the Tron script) it definitely found some bugs and maliciously installed stuff and it's been quarantined but it's not changed the behavior, unfortunately. Conclusion to this is that I fear this dude tampered with my laptop and probably had no intention of giving it back. So when he was forced to give it back I assume he probably was in a "I better try and get it back to the way it was in" state. With all this said, I'll be forever grateful to anyone who is willing to pass on some suggestions and ideas as to try and get the laptop back into shape. I'm willing to try anything at this point. I spent my entire savings on this laptop when I bought it. and would hate to see it fall victim to a untimely demise. It's just over two years old and it's truly a lovely machine. I've listed the specs on my profile and such. Ps: Did a windows reset and reinstall to no prevail.

Probably because of my poor google searching skills but at seemingly random, my ENTIRE system will start lagging like crazy, as if the system goes down to like 5 fps. No rhyme or reason to it, it just simply happens. I don't have an on-camera evidence of this BUT I was streaming about a week ago and this happened during the stream and that's the closest I can get to giving you a visual on what's happening Clip of it happening on stream: https://clips.twitch.tv/SmoggyBenevolentVultureTakeNRG-MrDPzkWz9leikdrt (keep in mind the entire system does this, if you pay close attention to my timer lagging as well and the gif at the top left) Things I've done: Memtest Cinebench test Tried different ram Reinstalled windows unplugged different peripherals from my usb ports Attempted to reseat the Graphics card & Ram Replugged in my PSU components into the motherboard Prayed to God At this point I have no clue what's happening but hopefully one of you could know what's happening My system specs: Ryzen 7 5800X EVGA RTX 2080 TI 16 gb ddr4 3200mhz ram PSU: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MTJTO2O/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Motherboard: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B088W7RKVZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Hi everyone, im having a weird issue with this game, i installed a couple of days ago and played it once (for like 3-4 hours) and everything went great , all graphic options maxed out i was having well over 60 fps (i have a 1080ti) but today i noticed something really odd, even as the game was loading i could notice it wasnt running properly and yes, it runs at 12-15 fps even in the main menu (before loading any save) Has anyone else have this issue? It is really odd, i read something about the game not using the main gpu and instead using the cpu integrated graphics, but i play on desktop so there is no set default graphic option in my nvidia control panel I would REALLY appreciate your help, im loving this game so far and want to play the heck out of it

Hey guys, I was just looking on radeon Adrenalin software for no apparent reason other than to see my gpu fan speed. I saw though that this was happening https://gyazo.com/fab1cfffe64c2c88b673ee0a91cc1c2c https://gyazo.com/45df1234d7ccaf5163a7066ae04998b6 https://gyazo.com/575046ef0de6b41006fcf2506a8df24d https://gyazo.com/1e098f2b84b61417821616d70795ee4f https://gyazo.com/37d2fd62c07773139e37b1e75fcae1b0 I am running the following: RX 550 from powercolor A B450M DS3H Motherboard from gigabyte A 500w psu non modular from coolermaster a 7200rpm HDD from seagate 2tb a coolermaster masterbox lite 3.1 case (MATX) and the stock 120mm fans i believe. Bear in mind im using a Samsung 32" smart hd TV to run this on. (My only thought is because its on such a big screen its more harder for the parts, but it was still fairly loud on one 24" monitor also from Samsung) The temps do stay around 32-33 degrees C when not in use i haven't saw them with gaming loads though, I'll check that out and get back on the forum. Any help would be appreciated as this is really odd and it would be amazing to see a fix for this as it's pretty annoying with the sound but at the same time i'm not in the mood to burn my whole PC down into a big puddle of brick and sadness. Stay safe people and thanks to anyone that can help.

Been wanting to ask this question for quite a while now... I found out that for some reason, I would still have pretty much the exact same performance as with or without the graphics drivers installed... no rendering issues, no framerate fluctuations, nothing. Even graphically intensive games still run and show identical performance metrics. Yes, I did use DDU to properly uninstall my drivers (going to safe mode and everything), so I should just be running on Window's base drivers. Am I missing something or does the Radeon drivers currently just don't really provide much or at all any benefits compared to just Windows base drivers? P.S: No this topic is not a troubleshoot

So this isn't really a problem as it is a odd occurrence, but for some reason whenever I install a new game (or reinstall an old one) it automatically sets the resolution to 3840 x 2160. I'm honestly flattered that the game has such confidence in my GTX 1070 and 1080p screen but it's weird to me that it would do this. Any ideas on why this happens? I don't have any Nvidia settings forcing the game to 4k. My monitor is only 1080p and I only run the desktop at 1080p.

Hi, This is my first post here. A friend told me this was a good place to post strange or odd PC problems. So I've had this issue for about a year now, randomly in some games my computer would just crash, loose all power and turn off. No errors, beeps or warnings before hand. It will restart but get stuck on post to either go into BIOS or the boot menu. Trying to restart normally, even restarting into safe mode it will get stuck. This doesn't happen in every game, just some. So far this has just happened to: Paragon Warframe OverWatch Elite Dangerous Perhaps another one or two I've just forgotten. As far as I know this is not a power usage problem. More demanding games have not crashed such as Arma 3, FarCry 4 and fully completed Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain without a single crash, I have ran Prime95 and Unigine heaven on max possible settings for over an hour simultaneously and no crashes. Here are my specs Motherboard: MSI X99a SLI Plus BIOS: 1.B0 GPU: MSI 980ti GAMING 6G Nvidia Driver: 365.10 (backing to this fixed OverWatch) CPU: 5820x RAM: Corsair LPX DDR4 3000MHz clocked at 2166MHz PSU: SeaSonic 660w Platinum Fully Modular I'm really not sure what else to say, my first post here. Need more details about something just ask. This has gone on for too long. Thanks for reading. =] Jor~

Hey guys, I know a couple of people have been looking for a drive bay that holds dual ODD slimline bays. I have been looking a while for one. The Plextor Model PX-DB608AL appears to no longer be available anywhere, but I did find this: https://www.amazon.com/BYTECC-BRACKET-535-5-25-Metal-Convert/dp/B004O9T5GS I wanted this bay device because I am building my first computer, but do not have as many drive bays as I would like, so I'm trying to maximize space. What do you guys think is the best way to add additional SATA 3 ports to a computer? I thinking of just adding an additional PCIe controller card, but is this the best way to go?

Hi, My computer isn't even less than a few months old. When ever i watch a you tube video it always lags but not the sound. It was running fine for a month or 2 until recently, not sure what is causing the issue. If i leave some applications open and run a game it does the same thing when i use the mouse. I have tried new mouse, keyboard with no luck, updating windows and programs, i've even done a fresh instal and it still does the lagging. Wondering if anyone knows the cause to this as it's really starting to do my head in. Specs are as follows CPU: I7-7700K 4.8ghz with thermaltake ring 3.0 360mm MOBO: Gigabyte Auros Z-270X-Gaming 5 RAM: GSkill Trident Z RGB 3200mhz GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1070 G1 Gaming HDD1: M.2 1TB Samsung EVO HDD2: m.2 1TB Samsung EVO HDD3: 4tb Seagate Using Razer Diamond back mosue and deathstalker keybaord. It has really stumped me on this issue.

Hello! I've had this issue after I updated to Creators Update. I reinstalled the PC then, now it was Creators Update from the start. It was very timely anyway. But after a full clean install (of course, I've only formatted the SSD), the problem came back. This video explains everything. ( Windows 10 1703 15063.296 (non-pirate, OEM ;)) i5 4690 (no overclock, just performance mode of Asrock motherboard) Gigabyte G1 GTX 960 16 GB Kingston Fury RAM 3 Monitors (2x[1280*1024]; 1x[1920*1080]) (before reinstall I only had one [1280*1024]) 250 GB Kingston 3K SSD 1 TB WD Blue Zalman Z1 case If anything else is needed, well, you know. Let me know. ) If this has been solved anywhere on the internet, or even this forum, I couldn't find it, sorry. I've searched. Also, if my English is bad, I'm Hungarian, and only know the language from the one and only internet, haven't learned much in school yet Thanks for the help!

Hi, can I have a little help? I am getting "Reboot and Select proper Boot device" error while installing new windows. My cd rom is ok. hdd is ok. sata is ok. windows cd is ok. I dunno if mobo is ok, but when I go to bios, it detects the hdd and the odd. This dictates that the sata is ok. So what is the problem?

So I recently upgraded my system from 8350 to i7 6800k. Parts list: msi 1080 seahawk (used this with 8350 as well) ASUS x99 a-ii i7 6800k (STOCK SPEEDS) Corsair h115i EVGA supernova 1000w plat 32gb GSKILL memory Samsung 850 pro 512gb (soon to be getting 950 pro 512gb) So day 1, USB ports crapped out, just the 3.0, still broken to this day. About a week later, I get artifacts like crazy, not really in games, but just randomly in browser or even just in desktop, despite my GPU/CPU running super cool and even stock speeds. About the same time as this, my internet started working intermittently, by that I mean even just using the web browser to load a page half the time it says "Hmm... we cant reach this page" (Edge & Chrome). Steam downloads constantly corrupt every 5 seconds. Even when I switch to wireless same problems. I have nighthawk router and Arris modem, and I have another computer right by mine that works 100% perfect (3570k build). I'm using super fast internet, get 170+mbps on speedtests, so no reason at all this should be happening, and yes I've switched cables. I have reformatted TWICE One of the times I just let windows install drivers The other time I installed latest drivers off asus/intel/NVidia website and put them on a flash drive so I could install them as soon as OS loaded up. STILL SAME ISSUES. Wtf? Anyone have any idea what I should try replacing first? My guess would be motherboard, but idk. Thanks in advance! EDIT: Forgot to mention that I also gets lots of crackling audio since these issues popped up, once again though it happens more in general desktop usage and less in games.

Hi all, I'm wondering if you can help me find a case for a HTPC I will soon be building for myself, and my folks. The HTPC will be equiped with the Intel DH77DF with a Wifi chip, a Core i5-2400, 8GB of G.Skill Ripjaw RAM, and depending on the size of the case an ASUS AMD Radeon HD 6770. (I'm repurposing some of my old rig's components). The current cooler, will likely be replaced. There are 4 things that it must absolutely have or be: 1. The case needs to be small, around the same size of an XBOX 360 or a set-top box. 2. It needs to not look like a computer, if at all it needs to resemble something that you'd normally find in a TV cabinet, think TiVo box or games console. 3. It needs a slot for an optical disk drive, as this will be replacing a DVD player (FYI we never jumped onto the Blu-ray bandwagon). 4. The case must have at least 1 USB port (preferably 2 USB 3.0 ports) on the front. There is only one would like, and that is a SD card reader, however, this is not essential. The dimensions of the area in which this HTPC will sit are approximately 80cm wide and 15cm tall, no need to be concerned about depth as there is plenty room behind the opening. It will be sharing this opening with a Virgin Media TiVo box which has a width of 37cm and a height of 7 cm, so it either be underneath or next to the Virgin Box, depending on the size of the case. I have found two potential cases which I feel meet my use cases, both being of the Silver Stone Raven series, the SST-RVZ02B, and the SST-RVZ01B. I am hoping you lovely folks can help me find a potentially better option for this HTPC. Thanks in advance

Hey guys, So I wasn't having too much luck on google and thought I would turn to the forum for some help. I am looking for a slim odd and fan controller that will fit in a regular 5.25 bay. Does such a thing exist? I know slim odd with dual 2.5" hot swap bays are made and so are card readers with slim odd are made. If you can shed any light on my search it would be appreciated. Would they made a slim odd with a 3.5" adapter? Thanks in advance.

I am surprised this topic hasn't already been created honestly (from what I could find in the search) as I realised this topic could be quite funny. Perhaps it could be pinned because of that reason alone Anyway, I shall go first since I had two really weird dreams last night. 1. I somehow accidentally shut a kitten in a freezer until it became a block of ice. When I realised the kitten was in there, I took it out to let it dry in the sun and somehow the poor creature came back to life! I then kept it to love it forever 2. I went to a pool party but whenever I got in the pool rocks fell from the sky. Everyone in the pool at the time was told to run to a safe place which was a small green van several miles away (very odd if you ask me). Whoever got in the van first would win £250. Obviously with it being my dream I got to the van first but I ran on all fours and not my legs to get there. To my surprise I was then knighted and then given the £250 (my unconscious is actually richer than me haha) Anyway, please share your dreams and perhaps we can get this to become a pinned topic!! - Have fun!

Hello everyone. I was having dinner with friends and this topic came up. What is your odd/quirky trait that you do or have? Mine is once a week when I shower, I bring a piece of fruit in with me. I do not know how I started doing it but the fruit always tastes better. P.S. No judging.

So i grew up with laptops, laptops, laptops: the place, where i think it came from. I love desktops. Now, i would ask, if it is wierd, that I use my mouse below or more closer to me, at middle from keyboard? Normal people use it to the right of keyboard... I am fine, with right, but with my personal pc my mouse is below the keyboard. (oh, when i was really small, i used the the thing in the middle of keyboards, lenovo has them and now dell i think has them, in the middle of ghb and i prefer the knob to the touchpad) I`m really ergonomics lover, so is that comfortable and ergonomic? Thanks.

So I recently build a pc with a R5 2600x and a GTX 1660s and the only thing left is the case. The thing is that in my country (Colombia) is quite hard to find something good with nice airflow at a reasonable price and I ended up with two options: Xtech Environ (Xt-gmr2) Xtech Delirium (XT-GMR1) The interior is literally the same, and both have 2 5.25'' bays in the front. The only differeces are in the front panel, the Environ one has the buttons and ports in the front panel itself and the mesh has this angled finish (which i don't know if that would be problem to installing an odd or a fan monitor), while the other one (Delirium) has the buttons and ports on the top of the case and it's very exposed at the interior of the case, has a extremely tiny reset button and has a flat and larger front mesh. They're both the same price and i would like two know which one do you guys think would be the best option. what i'm worried about is messing or breaking the front panel of the Delirium and not being able to properly instal a 5.25'' drive or fan monitor without it letting a uneveness or some part of sides of the drive exposed in the Environ Thank you so much for the help and sorry for the broken english, btw

I recently upgraded to a Ryzen 3800x and X570 Taichi from an i5-6400 and MSI Z170A because the motherboard died. My power supply is a Thermaltake Smart M 750W, My gpu is an EVGA 2080 XC Ultra Gaming, and I can give other specs if necessary. The PSU should be plenty to run it and I had a repair shop test the psu and they said the voltages were fine so was the grounding to the case. I have bios edition 2.10 I’m pretty sure but I cannot check. I have no clue why the old motherboard died and why the issue is currently happening. Without an EPS connector, it turns on and runs fine with respect to LEDs but the fans will be off or very loud. With an EPS, it does this but shuts off for a second and stays like that if I try to turn it on. I have no explanation why and any help would be greatly appreciated.
