Hey guys, this is a bit of an odd one, but I'm looking for a Micro ATX, or a mini ITX motherboard that would work with an i7 6700k + GTX 960 combo. They are from an old computer that I can't be bothered selling for parts, but they are sitting in a huge case. So I figured I'll pick up a small form MB and transplant it all into a tiny case to keep as a spare machine, or give to a family member if they can use it. Ideally I'd like the board to be new(if that's even still a thing) and as cheap as possible, but I don't want some dodgy no name brand either. I found a case that will work for 15 quid, so that leaves more spare for the MB if needed. All the naming for the older generations is really confusing to me so that's why I'm struggling to figure this one out. Hope you can help me.:)

I recently acquired a used FM2-A75IA-E53 motherboard, supposedly, pulled off a working system. When I tried turning it on for the first time there was no POST, not even a display came up, and any usb peripherals I plugged in didn't seem to be getting any power. I plugged in peripherals I was sure worked, as well as monitor and display cables. At first I had installed an A4-7300 cpu, but learned that the motherboard may have needed a bios update to support that cpu, so I bought an A4-5300B just to update the bios, still no POST or power to usb? I do want to mention that the cpu fan turns on, the cpu is heating up, and the psu turns on. I know for a fact the psu, ram, peripherals, monitor, and cables work. There is a slight buzzing I can hear in the cpu socket even without the cpu installed but I'm not sure that is the problem. Apart from all this, the only weird thing is the 24 pin connector is difficult to plug in and unplug, but I don't see anything physically wrong with it. Any help would be so greatly appreciated. This is a repost of an earlier post I made which has gone unanswered. I am stumped and on the verge of giving up.

Question regarding size! Hello, I am about to build my first PC! I have purchased my motherboard which is a MSI MAG B560M MORTAR. This is a Micro ATX motherboard, and I am about to buy a NZXT H510 elite and I'm wondering if it's going to look terrible as the motherboard is small. I was thinking about mounting my GPU vertically (2060) but I've heard its bad for airflow. I'm going for an aesthetically pleasing PC and I'm not exactly sure how it will turn out! Any advice or pictures of similar pc's would be appreciated!

Hi. My query is hipotetical. I’m configuring a new PC, a miniITX. So far I bought only the CPU and RAM but before going further with everything else for a mini ITX, I want to check how could I configure a micro ATX instead in order to have more space for future upgradability, especially to add future connectivity such as: USB 4, 10 Gb/s Ethernet, etc... or some retro connectivity such as firewire (I got some old miniDV tapes to capture). My question is about the type of PCIe slots I should be looking for. The most I could find are micro ATX motherboards with 2 PCIe x16 but none with x4. Will it be enough or should I look for x4 PCIe slots only? Thanks.

I am putting together my first build, and I am still deciding on a motherboard. I have decided on micro atx, and on AM4, but the one I have my eyes on (Gigabyte B550M AORUS PRO-P), does not have WIFI or Bluetooth, which is a must have for me. The router is on the other side of the house and I can not move it, and wiring a cable would be incredibly hard. I also need Bluetooth for all of my speakers and headphones. Is it worth it to get that board and then buy the adapters? Any suggestions would be helpful, thank you so much!

Im on a budget and want to only replace CPU/MOBO so there is a massive complication...... Restrictions: Micro ATX board and I would like a the newest CPU that still supports DDR3/DDR4 so I can keep using the RAM and upgrade to DDR4 later.

I am building 2 PCs and one of them will be a small form PC with a micro ATX case. Initially I picked the Fractal Design Pop Mini air but I was informed that it wasn't available in my country. The next best thing was the fractal design Fractal Design Meshify 2 but it's a lot more expensive. Can you recommend me a Micro ATX case with good airflow and space for 2 HDDs?

Hello, I've started running into trouble with space in the small room I'm living in. I currently have a 1,4m desk which takes up half the width of the room and I only have about 30cm next to it. Currently there is an old wooden box thingy there I made a long time ago where my computer is on top off but it's quite in the way and it wouldn't be the first time I bumped the computer pretty hard or the box when leaving the room. I'm looking for a small as possible solution to put the computer in that won't cost me an arm and a leg. Putting the computer under my desk is not an option as my desk is sectioned in such a way that I have half of it available for art by moving my chair a bit to the left and the other half I sit on the right for for normal work. Currently I'm using a zalman z9 plus case from ages ago that I still had over from my first good computer but it's far too big to be on my desk. I've looked into smaller cases but they all take up to much space. What's normally on my desk: A wacom cintiq 13HD A 15 inch laptop A 24 inch screen that's on a monitor arm so not too much in the way Wired full size keyboard Small Bluetooth keyboard Wireless mouse I don't use the computer as my main system. It is more my oh crap my laptop can't handle my 3d stuff or my photoshop project got way out of hand lets move to the desktop. So my wacom is usually hooked up to my laptop so I'd like to still be able to easily switch to my desktop with it some way. My desktops specs: Ryzen 7 2700 Stock cooler 32gb ddr4 3000mhz Asrock b450 micro atx board 550w seasonic focus plus platinum 1tb sata ssd 1tb nvme ssd 2tb hdd The hdd can easily be removed from the system as it's just mainly cold storage. I don't care about rgb (I turn it off), glass, windowed sidepanels or anything. As long as the case is just a non intrusive looking box I'm good and if it isn't then so be it. The cooler master q300l did look like a good option but it's already on the big side.

Hi, I'm new to this forum but I'll try be as concise as possible. I have purchased a new PC, and it has been working fine for some weeks now. Today I saw that the PC started by itself and then shut down (within 6 seconds) and no display were shown. To my surprise it kept doing this until I turned the PSU switch to off. I have researched through Google but with no luck. Here is what I have tried: Checking the PSU cables - They seem fine and the fans and LEDs work, but just for some seconds before it shuts down . Checking the CPU for broken pins or other issues - The CPU seems to be fine. Removed the GPU - Same outcome Removed some RAM slots and exchanging where they sit - No success also Checking the motherboard's cables to see if they are loose or not connected - No success Also I have noted that there is a Yellow light in the motherboard, but this light I remember has been present since the beginning. Here are the specs: Micro-ATX MSI B450M PRO-VDH Max AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Octa-Core, 3.70 GHz Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX Vega 64 8GB HDMI / DUAL DP (UEFI) Full G.SKILL Aegis 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3000MHz CL16 SSD M.2 2280 Western Digital Blue SN500 500GB 3D NAND NVMe What can I do ? Do any of you guys have had this problem ? Please bare in mind I'm still a beginner (even though I can understand most things) and also I do not have any tools for disassembling the PC other than the common tools in the house hold (for example I do not have termal paste, special tools, etc.) Thanks for any guidance,

Hi. I'm trying to configure my first custom built PC in more than 20 years, since I've been daily driving macs so far. I really like small desktops but it doesn't necessarily have to be very small, at least not bigger than necessary. I've been configuring pcs for months but there's one thing I'm getting wrong. Coming from years of laptops I'm embracing the upgradability of PCs and for that I'd really like to configure my build with and extra PCIe x16 or x4 (from what I'm reading) for future upgrades such as a 10 GB/s ethernet, some faster USB port, or some other expantion. To begin with, is it even possible on a mini or micro atx? Could you suggest me one or two configurations where this will be possible? My plans so far were to get a case as big as the Corsair Crystal x280 or as small as the Lian Li TU150 or the Cooler Master NR200 with a X570 motherboard to start first with a Ryzen 3000 APU and upgrading to Ryzen 5000 CPUs and a RX 6800 as soon as they become fairly available, I'm not pre-ordering. If it isn't possible or overcomplicated I'll drop the idea. Thanks

Budget (including currency): none but not too expensive Country: Philippines Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: all in one 70%gaming, 30% work Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I currently have the following parts Ram: Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB 3200mhz SSD: 500gb Samsung 970 evo plus Chasis: Corsair Crystal 280x non rgb (bought cheap, second hand) since the case is black, I will repaint it with white. here are my other preferred parts for my semi white themed rig. processor: Amd ryzen 5 3600 motherboard: ? (Prefer white/black) b4550 or b550 only GPU: Any white/black RTX 2060 super AIO: NZXT kraken x62 Psu: ? will buy ll120 fans from corsair and attached it to rad and top of the case any other suggestions or reaction with this? I am choosing aio since it’s warm in our country and +10 aesthetics plus rgb lol. Please help me, I am open for any suggestions you may imply.

This my first build. It's a very basic build with strict amount of budget going into it. The budget was around MYR 2,000 - 2,500 (including the peripherals). I think, I may have went slightly above the budget limit. Just a bit. So, here are components; PC Parts MAIN = MSI H110M Gaming Micro ATX Motherboard GPU = Palit GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB StormX CPU = Intel Core i5-7500 RAM = Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2666 Memory PSU = AVF Power Supply 650W Cooling = Cryorig M9i, Cooler Master SickleFlow X 120MM Case Fan (2 exhaust and 1 Intake(directly powered by the PSU)) Case = Segotep Pi Cube Accessories Monitor = LG IPS 24MP68VQ-P Keyboard = MSI Interceptor DS4100 Gaming Keyboard Mouse = James Donkey Gaming Mouse Gaming Pad = Logitech F310 Gamepad Others = Remax Alien USB 3.0 Hub, Tenda U1 Wireless USB adapter PcPartPicker Link = https://pcpartpicker.com/user/krill122/saved/zWQycf The case is from Segotep. It's a cube case. When it opens up it can turn into a test bench. (Well, sort of) So, here is the innards of the pc (My best effort at cable management ) With a little bit of flair At the heart of the pc, my previous cpu was Intel Core i3-6100. But, I manage to acquire an i5-7500. So, I swapped the i3 for the i5. Final Look: Booting up That's all folks. Thank you *UPDATE* New setup with a bigger table

I'm new to the forums and just want to sell my unused white Areocool DS Cube case. I also have an open box PNY GTX 650 1GB, its a terrible card, I know. My priority right now is the case though. Let me know about any good ways to sell my stuff other than Ebay and OfferUp.

So here's the situation: I have exactly a week to pull like a dozen routers out of my behind for a 700 person hackathon. I need them to be as cheap as possible, so I'm building them myself. I've priced out the cheapest possible hardware that will run pfsense (pcpartpicker link). The components aren't what important. I'm here because I need a way to house them. The absolute cheapest mATX cases are like #30, which is 1/4 of the price of the overall device! I'd like to try to build or mod my own cases. Because this is a hackathon, I thought it would be cool to go with the home-brew/techy/hacker aesthetic of exposed electronics and whatnot and I had two sort of working ideas: 1. I collect whatever old retro (think beige) computer cases and chop them up to show the inside, add lights, etc. I'm thinking it shouldn't be hard to get a few of these for free from the circles I run with. 2. Maybe laser cut wood or 3D print? Just a basic box with holes in the sides and maybe the hackathon logo cut on to one of the surfaces. The issue with both is that I have no idea what I'm doing and I need to be *fast*. Thoughts? How would you tackle this? Should I just cardboard box it? Am I in the wrong forum section?

Had an idea for an wooden case with matte black metal accents, ideally I would make it out of stained cherry or oak. I'm going for a micro atx build and I think it could work. Any ideas or suggestions are readily welcome as I have little experience when it comes to making a case.

I have one question for the world of computers.... Why are there no great Micro ATX cases with a side window, at least 2x 3.5 drive bays, room for a full custom water loop with 2x 280mm radiators and without being massive? OK with that out of the way I am planning to make my next build with the new asus strix z270 micro atx motherboard (newegg:N82E16813132929)and have been looking at the Phanteks Enthoo (newegg:9SIAAM145C4541) and the corsair obsidian 350D (newegg:N82E16811139021) and there both "good" cases but both have there game braking flaws for me like the phantek case like great, but apparently the top 140mm fans may as well not exist with the poor airflow, and I may need to take out the 3.25 drive cage for the front if I want the front radiator (unconfirmed) a total game breaker for me, ware as the corsair looks nice but not as nice as the phantek but the air flow would not be a issue but I have the same problem as with the phantek of if I want the front radiator I have no drive bays... so I ask, does anyone know of a great matx case with a window that looks nice, has room for 2x 280mm radiators, and at least 2x 3.5 drive bays?

I've been wanting to build a Ryzen system for a good long while now. The only thing holding me back from pulling the proverbial trigger is a complete lack of Micro ATX X370 boards. Hell, I'd take a half decent B350 from ASUS, but none seem to exist. Are they working on it? I can't tell.

I am planning on upgrading my cpu which also means I have to upgrade my motherboard. I just wanted to know if there is any real difference between each form factor or if it is just the size. Any help is appreciated.
