  1. Microsoft claims to have gotten rid of Internet Explorer, and yet, some of its rotting corpse is still left over! How do I completely remove all of its remains?
  2. IE / EDGE ____________________________________________________________ CHROME ____________________________________________________________ FIREFOX ___________________________ I apologize to any admin if this is in an incorrect category or a duplicate post
  3. have been forced to use IE to browse LTT from work and i found that the reactions have hitboxes that are TINY! dont have any screenshots because i cant move any files off that computer to anywhere but downloading IE should see you with the same results, also almost all the buttons at the top, like community, Forum, Store and so on look kinda strange too. And another issue that im pretty sure is IE screwing with me, random first letter capitalization. I type a word or two and then pop, big letter where there really shouldent be one. Duknow if you care about how well the site works on IE tbh but i thought id report in anyway
  4. Hi Everyone, I just received my Beyerdynamic iDX 200 IE and am testing them right now. I think it's my work laptop but whenever I plug them into my work laptop, I hear a hiss ...especially when I'm not playing anything. When I plug them into my phone, youtube videos sound a little quiet but that's fine. My music sounds funky though. I have them currently plugged into my work laptop and the audio is excellent but the laptop produces this annoying hiss. How do I get rid of that? Do I need a portable DAC?
  5. Hey everyone! So I've been combating this issue for awhile. You see, when I try to play videos from ANY website using Chrome, Opera, Edge, IE, it goes to a black screen as seen in the picture, though when I go to play a video in full screen using firefox, it works with no issues. Also, when I try to play a video in full screen that is downloaded on my PC, it doesn't work either, as well as the screen saver. The ONLY work around I have found to temporarily fix this issue is if I go to device manager, disable my GTX 970M, then open the browser, then re-enable it. Then it works. I have tried reinstalling the driver, I've tried reinstalling windows, I have no other ideas. Please help! DxDiag.txt
  6. So nobody here seems to use the amazing tehnique to COMPLETLY uninstall "ie"form your laptop,so my frend is going to show you how to! Cant belive you clicked on me!
  7. Hi I run Win 7. When using Google search on IE 11 some days now, it wont show any results at all, just a blank page Any one know anything? Thanks!
  8. So there as been this Google Custom Search thing and it is really starting to annoy me. The account tools on the top right is gone. Maps, News, Video is gone. In images it only shows two rows. When I click on the little 'powered by Custom Search' it takes me to Google's CSE but at tells me it is a tool that website owners use for people search on their site. Look at the top right this site uses it. For images there is a work around with going to 'google.com' hit images on the top right since it is still there before I search for something. I've tried erasing data/cookies, resetting settings, and un-then-reinstalling chrome but nothing has changes. If someone can help then you are a god to me.
  9. Microsoft is gonna end the support on the Internet Explorer version 8, 9, 10 on January 12th. Users with IE 8, 9, 10 will be no longer receiving any security updates for the browsers. A recently-announced patch will deliver the last few bug fixes, as well as an "End of Life" notification telling users to upgrade to IE 11 or Microsoft Edge — the company's successor to Internet Explorer, built for Windows 10. Still Internet Explorer 11 will live for some more months, not sure how long. Source: TheVerge.
  10. Well, I'm posting for someone else. He says that his browsers doesn't work. He uses IE and Firefox. IE is so slow, it would take a hour to open a page, and Firefox won't even open, it isn't a internet issue, because he can play WOW on his PC. Any suggestions?
  11. When I set the quality on Youtube to above 1080p in chrome I can immediately see the video lose color depth. It just looks over all clearer and more pleasing in IE. This only happens in chrome and NOT in IE. This has been bothering me for a while now. I have gone through my settings in Nvidia graphics driver and can't figure out what it could be. Left is Chrome and right is IE. I hope you can see the difference with the compressed file, I can. Thank You, System Specs: Xeon E3 1230v3 Asus Z87 A Motherboard Nvidia GeForce 660 Ti Sound Blaster Z YAMAKASI DS270 IPS SE AH-IPS Monitor
  12. So normally I use chrome/FF/Opera anything apart from IE. not used Ie really properly since IE8. I wanted to try something different apart from the norm my list above. Also with the news of Spartan I thought I should see what the current IE is like so I can see what's been improved. So I decided i'm going to use IE only for 1 month & see of I can stay with it long term. To ensure this I have wiped All other Browsers off my machine This also shows me what Standard users see when they visits site I've done. I had to Install IE11 As I uninstalled it on W8.1 So What ive done top make it fair - Setup Google as default search - Setup IE version of Adblock Plus (tracking privacy listings) - Lastest version of Flash What i've noticed so far - LOT less ram resources used. from 800MB (chrome) to 200MB (IE) watching YouTube. - Speed is the same.
  13. Hello Forums! This started about a day ago I think. When visiting secure sites like https://google.com(or any other site using HTTPS) Chrome gives me a security warning. YT wasn't effected until just a few minutes ago. I also tried using IE, same errors. Here's a pic one of the errors: It was also giving me a different one but that let me ignore the warning where as this one doesn't.
  14. THIS IS NOT A REPOST. This post is about new features of Microsoft Spartan browser features! Microsoft is planning to radically overhaul its web browser in Windows 10. Sources familiar with the company’s Windows plans tell The Verge that the new browser, codenamed Spartan, will include a host of new features not found in rival browsers. Chief among the plans for Spartan is new inking support that allows Windows 10 users to annotate a web page with a stylus and send the notes and annotations to a friend or colleague. The web note service will be powered by Microsoft’s OneDrive cloud storage, meaning notes will be stored on a copy of a web page that can be accessed by any browser across multiple platforms. As annotations are shared, multiple users can doodle on a web page and share edits and annotations between groups. A second major feature for Spartan will be the integration of Microsoft’s Cortana digital assistant. Microsoft is planning to use Cortana to surface information on flights, hotel bookings, package tracking, and other data within the traditional address bar. If you use Cortana to track a particular flight and start to search for "American Airlines" in the browser address bar, it will automatically display tracked flights and allow Spartan users to view the status of the flight directly. It’s a subtle addition, but you’ll also be able to access Cortana search directly from the new tab interface in Spartan. Cortana integration in the Spartan browser is planned to replace every instance of the existing Bing methods in Internet Explorer. Other features include a new way to group tabs together to declutter the occasionally messy interface of multiple browser tabs. Spartan will allow users to group tabs however they want, making it easier, for example, to split up personal tabs from work ones. Microsoft also originally planned to allow Spartan to support custom themes, but we understand the company has dropped this for the final new browser in Windows 10. Such support may arrive in future updates. Spartan is designed to be a single browser across PCs, tablets, and phones. Microsoft will make Spartan a Windows Store app, enabling the company to quickly and easily update the browser in future. ZDNet previously reported that Microsoft will continue to include Internet Explorer in Windows 10. Spartan is the main browser in Windows 10, and most users will be accessing the web using it. While Spartan will be a Windows Store app, Microsoft isn’t planning to make it a universal app initially. One version of Spartan will be available in the Store as a desktop app, and another as a modern app for tablets and phones. Both will be updated regularly with identical features. Microsoft is planning to keep the look and feel of Spartan very similar across phones, tablets, and PCs. The desktop version looks like a simplified version of Chrome, with a tabbed interface above the address bar, alongside options to go back, forward, and refresh a page. It’s all designed to look lightweight, without the bloat typically associated with older versions of Internet Explorer. While the Spartan name is a codename, it’s not clear if Microsoft plans to continue the Internet Explorer branding with its new browser. That naming and other features of Spartan could play a part in Microsoft’s Windows 10 event on January 21st. Microsoft is planning to detail the consumer features of Windows 10 at its press event later this month, including its phone and tablet features. Here is the @XTankSlayerX 's thread which contains screen shots of Microsoft's new browser! Source: TheVerge
  15. Read title... I have been having problems with Chrome. Sluggish browsing and constant freezes. (Especially on this site, each page needs a couple of seconds to load. I have 16gb of RAM and nice computer. I think it may be all my extensions, or Chrome... or both.) So I'm kinda in the market for a new browser. Or I may stick with Chrome. I was gonna ask which browser I should go with, but I think a thread about everyone's preferred browser is more interesting. Fire away! Bonus pic: http://ktcdigital.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/which-browser1.jpg
  16. Now I am stuck to using Internet Explorer instead of chrome, because the laptop only has 1GB of RAM. I HATE WINDOWS VISTA, WHY SO RAM INTENSIVE? I have to use this computer because my laptop is at the shop, because the repairs can't repair for shit. (Laptop comes back with no screws and a broken touchpad)
  17. I have some questions about the Sennheiser IE80s'. If someone owns a pair, I'd like to know: How is the isolation? Sound leakage? Do they get uncomfortable after a while? I want to be able to use them several hours at a time. How practical are they? Carrying around and stuff. Do you use a DAC with them? If so what kind? Is it completely necessary? What kind of music are they best for? Thanks, I know, it's a lot of questions. But I feel obligated to know basically everything and anything before buying them
  18. Beyerdynamic DX160 iE Here is my unboxing/first impressions/review of the DX 160 iE IEM's. These are brand new, released 6th-ish Feb. 2014, so hot off the press. I was originally looking at the DTX 101 iE's, but when I went to do a quick comparison on the beyer website against the MMX 101 iE's, i found that they had released two new lines, the 102 iE to replace the 101 and a new series of higher tier 120 iE's and 160 iE's. I decided the 160's were good for me with improvements over the 101's flaws. I chose beyerdynamic as I've owned a set of DT 770 Pro's for around 6-7 years and have been a thoroughly enjoyable listening experience throughout, only getting better as they age. Link: http://europe.beyerdynamic.com/shop/dx-160-ie-black.html Tech specs: Impedance:47 ohms Freq. Response:10 - 25,000 Hz SPL:107 dB Drivers:Neodymium Tips:5 types bowl shape, 1 type double flange, 1 type triple flange. Also a set of Comply™ eartips (type T-400). Build:Fully anodized metal housing on the ear pieces with aluminium rings as accents to the design. Cable Length:0.30m, with extension (which in my opinion is necessary) is 1.20m. Connection Type:3.5 mm jack Misc:Cable Clip Status: currently burning them in. Unboxing ^ The usual, identifiable, sleek beyerdynamic box design. ^ ^ Glamour shot. ^ ^ Back of the box. ^ ^ Open cover design. Seem to be using that on all their packaging now. ^ ^ Nice touch the little things make the difference. ^ ^ You can see the similarity in the design, this is the box for my DT 770 Pro's. Has the same slip out info and viewing cover. ^ ^ Inside the box, initially. ^ ^ Underneath the initial foam molded packaging. ^ ^ Quick look at the included accessories. ^ ^ Headphones out of the box. Unusual splitting design, right down to the jack. Love the flat cable design though. ^ ^ Extension cord, in which is essential. The only advantage to the short cable is for joggers presumably with the source on an arm strap or high pocket, like on a jacket. ^ ^ Love the hard case that comes with it, enough space to keep the headphones and accessories, but not enough to be an annoyance. ^ ^ The included ear tips, there are also a set pre-installed on the headphones, medium sized normal tips. That makes the total amount of tips [8]. Including the sound isolating, memory foam tips that only come with the DX 160 iE. ^ I did have a shot of the headphones close up, but the quality was awful and wouldn't do it justice. First Impressions General: Good, solid packaging. Layout was good and minimal and follows beyer's usual style of packaging. They are my first true set of IEM's as I've never really liked them, but I wanted to give them a go as when I'm at work (web developer), I don't want to be wearing large over ear headphones, but still need to be able to hear over them just enough to hear colleagues. Accessories & usage: You get a good selection of ear tips, which is good for my ears as they are particularly awkward. For me the only tips that work are the double and triple flange designs. I'm still not sure on how you are meant to wear them properly, or if I'm doing it wrong, so I'm going to research that. Just shoving them in seems weird for me, but that will come with time I'm sure, but the double/triple flange provides a good fit for me and provide ample sound isolation from surrounding sources. The standard tips for me just don't work, it's the one thing I love the Apple Earpod's for is that they fit perfectly and comfortably without sitting inside my ear, the only problem with them is that the fatigue my ears after around an hour, so i'm hoping the DX 160 iE's will be more accommodation to fatigue. How they sound: The initial sound stage feels good. Wide, has good depth and presence. Bass and highs are predominant with mids sitting slightly back, which is common for Beyer's, but how I like it. Overall a good rich sound, which instantly gains recognition in my books as being that of a professional quality. Just got them sitting nearby, burning in at the moment, loosen up the drivers. Build quality / construction: The construction feels good, the cable is a flat, thick, grippy rubber. The jacks are gold tipped and the headphones themselves are made out of anodized metal (they don't disclose what) as they feel cold to the touch and slow to warm, hard and feel strong/weighty. The weight doesn't seem to be an issue once in your ear though, they are really quite comfortable. There are two aluminium rings on both ear pieces as accents, in which add a nice touch to the design. Misc: As a quick test, I put them in and started doing some room reorganisation, lots of stretching, things all over, fast abrupt movements and they seemed to stick in and stay without issue and kept their snug fit throughout. The jack connectors are angled slightly at around 45 degrees and I'm unsure how I feel about that yet. So far, I'm more on the slightly annoyed side as I'd have preferred small and straight or just a full 90 degree angle. I may add things to this short section as I remember/come across them again. Review So, I've been using these for a week (since 4th march '14) and overall they are good. Worth the £85 price tag? I'd say... yes. The build is really nice and what you get with them is plentiful. I have tried all the tips, and now found ones in which suit my ears correctly. They are comfortable over long periods (not too heavy either considering they are metal construction) of listening and provide a good dynamic range, as well as blocking out a surprising amount of background noise, I've had to be careful at work with these things not being able to hear people! I use the included case all the time, leave it in my jacket pocket for when I'm not using them, I keep all the tips and accessories in the top pouch of the box (plenty of room for those and the headphones). The flat, anti-tangle cable works surprisingly well. You can scrunch and twist them around, leave them in your pocket and when you pull them out they just come apart with ease, quite surprising really. The main beef I have with these headphones is the cable length. Its un-usable without the extension, and the cable is so short without, it comes down to the top of my chest without the extension, which begs the question why they made it that short in the first place. Its not even long enough to run over to an armband for joggers, so it can't be that. The only thing i can thing of is an external chest pocket on a jacket. I'd much rather have preferred just a long cable and no extension. The other issue with the connector is that the end of the extension is the weird casing for the 3.5mm jack, it goes off at a 45 degree angle. I'd much rather have preferred a straight cable or 90, its just a bit strange. In terms of pure 'how they sound' - just for starters, everyone hears individually and your experience may vary - but for me; the sound stage is good, not that wide but good presence. The highs and bass are slightly more predominant than the mids, but by not a lot. The bass is nice and punchy, not over powering which is how it should be. Good kick drum sound with excellent frequency response at the low end (they get really low but still retain the power) as well as the high end. A good solid sounding IEM, in which provides a very pleasant listening experience without breaking the bank. Overall, a good sounding, solid pair of IEM's. Would recommend. Thanks for reading!
  19. 24 hours ago I was still using Firefox in belief it is the best browser out there, but now it's unpinned from my taskbar and Chrome has taken its place. I have been using Firefox for years as my primary browser and it has indeed been a very good browser, but recently I have been checking out some other options such as Maxthon and even IE. However, when comparing to those two, Firefox still remained superior and smoother for me. And well Chrome, I have left it alone for a long time. I have tried it years ago, but didn't like it too much then. Also, I wanted to stay away from whole "Google is invading you from doors and windows" thing. Yesterday I came across some discussion about Chrome vs Firefox (like the 100th time), and I thought "oh well, lets download the damn thing and check how it really is side by side comparison and whether it really has gotten any better (or Firefox any worse)". And... Oh snap, I found out it really is loading pages faster, simple as that. I kept launching the browsers and loading various pages again and again, and Firefox was clearly more sluggish at both starting up and loading pages. Another reason I've stayed away from changing my browser has been the fact that I want to keep all my site history. Atm I have 1 year+ worth of history, and I want to be able to find any page I have ever been to (and it also helps with following some very long going manga series etc). But when I opened Chrome the 1st time, I noticed it had automatically picked up all my history from Firefox, so no problems there after all. So, I added the Addblock extension and a simple black theme and found myself good to go. One other positive thing than speed I noticed is that Youtube vids no longer make my gpu go crazy (might just be Chrome using html5), with Firefox I had some gpu usage problems with flash videos. Only small cons I am left with are: - Header doesn't auto scroll down in full screen mode when mouse is moved there, but I'd need to keep exiting and entering full screen mode if I wanted to use full screen mode while surfing. - History opens in new tab, rather than a sidebar. - Message stating "xxxxx is now in full screen mode blah blah" cannot be disabled when entering full screen anything. - No smooth scrolling option. - Cannot change button order or do any form of customization really. I still don't believe myself how quickly I switched. 20 mins before I was going "Firefox is the best", and then I was suddenly using Chrome instead of Firefox B)
  20. http://www.cnet.com/news/stop-using-ie-until-bug-is-fixed-says-us/ The link is at the top "It's not often that the US or UK governments weigh in on the browser wars, but a new Internet Explorer vulnerability -- one that affects all major versions of the browser from the past decade -- has forced them to raise an alarm: Stop using IE. The zero-day exploit -- the term given to a previously unknown, unpatched flaw -- allows attackers to install malware on your computer without your permission. That malware could be used to steal personal data, track online behavior, or gain control of the computer. Security firm FireEye, which discovered the bug, said that the flaw is being used with a known Flash-based exploit technique to attack financial and defense organizations in the US via Internet Explorer 9, 10, and 11. Those versions of the browser run on Microsoft's Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8, although the exploit is present in Internet Explorer 6 and above." - Seth Rosenblatt
  21. Hi guys, So recently my in ear headphones broke after about 2 years of use. so could you please recommend the best in ear earphones, probably the main factor is comfort and the type of cable ( I hate rubberised cables as they snag on my clothes) I'm also not bothered about them having any in-line controls. I wouldn't want to spend more than £60 ($100 USD). cheers guys.
  22. Source: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2964358 (and http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-27249695 ), although I have written it up myself Microsoft has released an update for IE today which fixes the major security flaw discovered earlier in the week. It is update KB2964358 and is "Important" (clearly very important because it has not been released on a Tuesday). The update applies to IE 6 through 11, and is supported on Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 upwards. When XP support was discontinued, there was a lot of discussion as to whether this would happen. The answer is clearly yes, which is a good thing for all of those IE users, but it does appear to show that Microsoft will be forced to commit to supporting IE6-8 and XP for general consumers for a while to come, albeit only the critical vulnerabilities.
  23. Hey guys, Have a user who can connect to their intranet over wireless but not any other sites using Internet explorer 8. Would anyone know how to fix this? Cheers
  24. The battle between the top browsers on the market continues with another round. Market researcher Net Applications revealed new statistics for the month of December 2013,claiming that Internet Explorer continues to be the number one desktop browser worldwide. I thought most of the users use chrome but surprisingly IE in the top, What’s more shocking is that the leading spot is currently held by Internet Explorer 8 with a market share of 20.64 percent, followed by Google Chrome 31 with 12.88 percent. Three other Internet Explorer versions come next, namely IE10 with 11.05 percent, IE11 with 10.42 percent, and IE9 with 8.96 percent. If you’re wondering what happened to Mozilla’s Firefox, version 25 is only sixth in the new charts with 7.48 percent of the market, while Firefox 26 comes next with only 6.60 percent. Shockingly, Internet Explorer 6.0 continues to be quite a popular choice for many users across the world, as Net Applicationsclaims that no less than 4.43 percent of the desktop computers are still running it right now. Internet Explorer 6.0 was launched more than 12 years ago as part of the Windows XP operating system and is no longer able to cope with today’s standards.
