I have this issue with my pc that my peripherals stop working randomly. Whenever im using the computer, everything is just working fine until i see some stutters/lags in the mouse cursor, (it started happening out of nowhere and totally random) mouse cursor jitters for a second or two and then becomes normal if you are lucky(other devices like keyboard and headphones also stop working for a moment) Otherwise if not so lucky, all the devices would just stop working, the headphones make a sound similar to a broken speaker and in the end i have to just hard power off the computer. Happens in a totally random pattern. *The pc seems to be working fine when the devices stop working, it occurred to me when gaming and the game world was rendering just fine and everything seemed like just the devices have been disconnected from the computer. **Nothing happens if i disconnect and reconnect the usb cables. I don't know what it is, seems like a driver of some sort but cant figure it out. Looked up multiple forums and articles but got nothing. Anyone else who encountered similar issue, any help would be appreciated.***I have attached a video that shows what is the current situation cuz my explanation skills kinda suck. Video (Bruh youtube killed the video quality)

I had this motherboard for about a year now and never had this problem. But every time I plug in a device like my oculus quest, switch, or phone it will charge it very slowly. For an example right now if I plug in my phone which is at 4% battery life it says it will take around 32 hours for it to get to full. Data transfer speeds seem fine, and other devices like my microphone appears to be working the same. Things I have tried: tried using 3.0 ports and 2.0 3 different cords, which all work fine w/ a wall out let. back IO and front IO. Turned off "allow computer to turn off device" in device manager. my wifi card: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B084JPFKQ5/ref=emc_b_5_t uses a usb port on the motherboard to have Bluetooth support, i unplugged that. unplugged devices Mother board: https://www.newegg.com/msi-b450m-pro-m2-max/p/N82E16813144271?Item=N82E16813144271 psu: https://www.newegg.com/corsair-cx-series-cx750-cp-9020123-na-750w/p/N82E16817139199 Any ideas on how to fix it will be GREATLY appreciated

Looking at what options are available to have a small - let's say 10" - screen added to all of our office desks to be used for display of personal content when you book a desk using our hot desk system. What I want to use it for is allowing staff to customise it through windows to show what they want to see at their desk, family photo, scenery, calendar, clock, weather and other dashboard type widgets. Could show when they're next meeting is, where they are working if they have to step away for a few hours etc? Also would allow us to roll out a message to all staff in a format that is more likely to be read. Ie - Staff Drinks this Friday from 5pm anything like this exist? Doesn't necessarily need to be interactive, just a visible personal dashboard?

All at once my connected devices such as, headset, mouse, keyboard, mic, and speakers will all do this "stutter" type thing. I have tested all the devices separately, uninstalled and reinstalled all drivers, updated bios to the latest version, validated all system files are working, and whipped my drives. I'm on Windows 10 64bit. As well as on a newly build PC (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/cTbmC6)

I plan to buy some wireless earbuds which would probably be connected to: Personal Phone: 65% of the time Personal PC: 25% of the time Work Laptop: 10% of the time How could I smoothly switch between these devices without much hassle? As per my past experience, it's always been a pain in the ass doing so... having to turn off bluetooth, re-sync and stuff like that.

Hello, I was wondering if MLG has a catalog of videos (from all channels, e.g. LTT, Tech Quickie, etc.) where I can easily find, for example, videos they have made about keyboards or video cameras or graphics cards. Or perhaps someone on this forum knows an effective way to search through thousands of videos to find all videos related to keyboards or video cameras or graphics cards. Thank you for your help. I really appreciate all of the videos that Linus and the crew has made, and I am currently in the market for a new device and I would like to watch all of the recent videos about it before making a purchase.

I have an NZXT 510i case for a VR build. The specs are: CPU: Ryzen 3600x Gigabyte Windforce RX 5700 XT GPU Gigabyte X570i MoBo NZXT Kraken X63 280mm CPU AIO w/ 2x 120mm NZXT fans (Intake) - (Sata/Fan header powered, USB 2.0 commo) 2x 8GB Ballistix Max RGB RAM 2x Corsair ML120 Fans (Top & Rear exhaust) EVGA 650 Bronze Modular PSU NZXT 3 port Fan/2 port LED Controller (USB 2.0 powered & commo) The MoBo only has 1 USB 2.0 header, so I installed an NZXT Internal USB expansion kit connected via extension to the MoBo header and powered by a SATA to 4-Pin converter. I attached the both USB connectors from the Kraken and Controller to the internal expansion module. However, when I open the NXZT utility, the only USB device that shows up is the RGB/Fan controller. The it's as if the Kraken doesn't even exist, even though it's attached to the same module. I have no way to control the lighting (which isn't a big deal), but more importantly, I can't control the pump, so it's only running at default performance. With such a small case, I wanted to up the pump RPMs to help with thermals - however it's like it's not even there. The Kraken lights up and by feel I can tell it's letting off heat, however I have to way to check how well it's working, what mode it's in, or even see it on the menu. Does anybody have an experience with internal USB splitters/hubs that might be able to help guide me through getting it to recognize the second device? Thanks in advance. (EDIT: Oh, and Oculus Rift S for the VR Setup with an HDMI output to the TV for family fun)

Back story: My C Drive was getting full, so to make space I copied one set of program files before deleting them to put them into Program Files (x86). Came back the next day to find certain program icons were missing (although only 2 apps weren't working that we also missing icons). As I hadn't created a restore point, I decided to System Restore but saving all my files and only wiping the apps. Spent the day reinstalling apps and everything seemed dandy, now that everything was being stored to my A drive (3TB) Problem: My monitor has built in speakers and I also have a headset, so I can switch between "gaming mode" and "movie mode". When I first bought this monitor, it created a separate Playback device under the sound settings and everything was well until yesterday (Back story). My monitor is connected by the rear jack and my headset by the front ones, they both work fine however instead of having two separate playback devices that I can choose between, they've collapsed into one. So if one device is unplugged the other plays fine but shows the audio value still coming from the same playback device. The playback device info is showing 4 jack points (even though I only looking at the 2 audio and input jacks), when these devices were separate, the monitor had two and the headset had two. Even if I unplug one and then reconnect it to see if that will force it into a separate device profile to be made, but nope. Even my Reatek shows that both front and rear audio jacks are active on the same device setting. I've even downloaded and installed the most recent driver and I have no clue how to fix it. Like I said, when I first connected the monitor and headset, they worked independently but now I can't figure out how to separate them. Was just wondering if anyone else has had this happen or has any advice. Thanks

Okay so I have a laptop (toshiba satellite P755-S5382) that has some pretty good on board speakers with one glaring issue. That is that even though they can rock the lower frequencies rather comfortably without any noticeable distortion via. a line in. But when actually listening to any audio coming from windows itself their seems to be some kind of software that makes it to where the frequencies that it plays are on a curve. To put it simply, it's like the computer is handicapping itself by not allowing full utilization of the range of the speakers, imagine if somebody took an EQ and turned down the lower frequencies, that's how it's acting. Now to go through the canned responses, yes I have gone through and disabled all the sound modifiers in windows and in the Realtek audio drivers and to no avail. But there is one way I was hoping I could go about it. You see, through the line in/mic the limit on the lower frequencies is not present, and the limit is also not present on the headphone jack. So what I was wondering is if I could take the system audio and pipe it through the headphone jack which would then go to the line in where the audio from the line in would then be played through the speakers. So basically what I am asking is, can I make it to where my system audio plays through one output while my onboard speakers play from a line in?

I just bought a new headphone(from usb to 3.5 mm jack) and when i plug it into my IO audio panel nothing happens but my realtek UI shows that there is something in that Audio port. but when i right click it and want to edit it i does not open, and the device is not being showed in windows playback devices. motherboard: MSI z97 gaming 5 i already checked if HD audio is in the correct pin or correct connected. does anyone have a solution? Thanks in advance:)

I have a weird problem and I'm not entirely sure what to do. Recently I switched to the X570 platform with a RYZEN 5 3600X on an MSI MPG X570 Gaming Edge WiFi motherboard, and shortly after that I swapped the system from a Silverstone RL06 to an NZXT H700. The computer works fine, except every so often I get the "USB Controller does not have enough resources" warning message. Now, whenever I plug certain things in they just don't work. Specifically, I have a Samsung BAR 32 GB flash drive, an Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver and an Xbox One Wireless Receiver that just don't work when I plug them in to any of my USB ports, whether they're on the motherboard or the front panel. Windows doesn't show them, I don't get the connection sound, nothing. Running Windows 10 Pro on the latest update. I started experiencing this problem a few days before the error message showed up, and the error message doesn't pop up very consistently at all. I've tried reinstalling the drivers, reinstalling Windows via Fresh Start, troubleshooting through Windows, unplugging other devices, among other things. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, new to the community but basically made an account for this. I'm a big fan of Linus, and he's part of my inspiration for choosing to work in IT. I do only watch the main channel and some other bits, so if some of this stuff has been covered on other channels I apologise. There is one topic I think Linus might be neglecting to some extent, and that's privacy. I don't know if it's down to demographic or just keeping the tone of the videos light, but I'd love to see more of Linus talking about privacy concerns with the devices he shows on his channel. Especially all the Chinese tech he's showing, Linus has a great platform to educate users on some of these issues - he already talked about PIA in a great video and their reasons for choosing them. Why not have videos debunking and confirming myths around what data the smart home stuff can collect? Or even a video on making smart home automation for the privacy concious (if thats even possible?). Especially when we have plenty of evidence of Chinese hardware and software being potentially problematic (Huawei, ZTE, Lenovo and more). Not just Chinese stuff either, what about things like intel ME and and AMD PSP? How many users get brand new PC's or intel chips, unaware they can be compromised really easily physically? There's just such a wealth of great content that can be done on this stuff, that not only informs users - which the channel is generally really great at - but also just could be really interesting for the channel to dive into. Sorry if this topic is in the wrong place, just wanted to share my 2 cents and see what other people thought of this. Again, big fan and no ill will is meant so I hope it doesn't come off that way. I know it's content I'd love to see, and I really think people ought to be more aware of this stuff when they spend so much on some of these products.

Hello, I have Windows 10 1909 and when i go to: control panel - Devices and Printers - Add Device / Add a printer the menu flashes for 1 sec and then closes. Also if i go to: start menu - settings - devices that menu also flashes for 1 sec and them closes. In addition Bluetooth settings don't work. I don't have a printer installed and i don't have any Bluetooth devices i just noticed that those menus don't work. I have installed windows about a month ago. I have setup my computer exactly like i want it it's very stable and fast and would not like to format and start over. I have tried the usual routine: sfc /scannow DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth DISM.exe /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup Get-appxpackage -all *shellexperience* -packagetype bundle |% {add-appxpackage -register -disabledevelopmentmode ($_.installlocation + “\appxmetadata\appxbundlemanifest.xml”)} and didn't help at all. I have tried to find relevant error messages in Event Viewer but nothing came up. I assume some service is not starting properly or something similar that's why the menus won't work. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you Chris

I was starting up my computer when everything worked fine. However after I started up a AMD program I got a blue screen. After the pc started up again my mouse and keyboard didn’t work anymore. I tried replugging every cable I could find and resetted my bios (the keyboard and mouse did work in the bios)settings to default with no answer. I came tot this forum asking for help so anything would be greatly appreciated.

With recent moves to USB-C in a lot of devices like phones, laptops, and peripherals that often have no other connectivity we are kind of moving to the age of dongles and adapter for RJ-45 are getting increasingly popular. So people are buying an adapter to connect their laptop or phone to a wired network. So here is a thought: why is there no internet router devices with USB-C interface? Benefits of such device: - could be used as a host for storage and peripherals like cellular modems, webcams, and printers for diverse feature set (basically what some routers are capable of with custom firmware project such as OpenWrt) - could be used as a peripheral device for a phone, PC, console or other classes of devices connected with USB-C cable directly to eliminate the need of dongles and potentially reduce sizes of device that would otherwise use RJ-45 port. Yeah, USB specs allow for way shorter ranges than ethernet cables can allow, but for wide range of applications cables up to 8 meters long would be enough. So are there such devices and if no, why?

I have a few design goals for my post 1. Setup a Home VPN server that all devices can connect to 2. Fix my router to make a way that other people cannot see it but it's an easy setup for me to connect all my devices too without anyone ever knowing how to connect to it and hack my devices on my network. (I've had 2 slowdowns playing youtube and my Wi-Fi speed is fast to support it) (and kick whoever is on my network off it) 3. Forward ports on my router (I cannot host my own game servers) If anyone can help me with all of these problems. Please Reply

So my different desktop computers on my network aren't talking to each other. I have a Windows 10 Pro, Windows 10 Home and a Windows Server 2016 machine on my network yet none of them show up under network in Windows Explorer. I also can't access by using \\COMPUTER NAME through command. When using the \\COMPUTER NAME command I get a prompt for computer password and then it comes back with an error saying "Cannot connect". I'm at a loss for what it could be, I tried the standard WORKGROUP. I tried changing the workgroup on all the computers to something else yet nothing seems to work. Any ideas?
