Hey Guys! So I just watched the "WHY Buy a Chinese Phone?" and I had some concerns that, if one doesn't follow current news, on China specifically, wouldn't know this information. I'm not saying that this is true, but I have a concern, that LTT could possibly look into? China, under the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) is a Police State. Everything the Chinese Citizen does is monitored, everywhere they go, everything they do online, everything. Its Scary. One of the things that the CCP does, is control App's. When Linus brought up the Weather App, and rightly asked why the app wanted all the permissions it didn't need, it raised some red flags, and alarm bells for me, personally. LTT. One of the things you guys could do, that would be super useful is to look into the Chinese Android OS's, and if possible, look into how much personal information they are gathering, and sending back to Chinese Servers, and by extension, the Chinese Communist Party. I don't really want to get political. This is not the Political Post. The only thing I will say, is that there is a difference between the Chinese People, and China, and the Chinese Communist Party. It would be the Party that is doing this, not the People of China.

So i wanna buy new phone but its hard to choose one, cuz there are many great options rn. I have found these 4 phones that got little more attention(for me atleast) than rest of options Nokia 6 2018 Huawei P Smart Xiaomi Mi A1(have seen rumors of an A2 model but idk if its true) Asus ZenPhone 5 ZE620KL (idk the price yet on this so its on big maybe for now) My current phone is Huawei p8 Lite and it has worked like a charm, havent been for repairs even tho i tend to drop it very often, has survived water(rain), but i want an upgrade cuz its starts to get a bit slower and the support is dead for it. Things i dont really care about in the phone: screen size, speaker quality(using headphones allways), battery life(cuz i think all of them can last a day), good camera quality(very rearly take pic and post them somewhere) and good gaming preformance(i need phone for regular usage), fast mobile internet(dont use 4g cuz its an extra cost). Things i need need it phone: durability(build quality from out side and inside aswell) cuz phone must last atleast 2 years, good costumer service, good software experience(want to try stock android but its not an big deal braker if i wont get it). Maybe u guys know other options for me to choose from(but not very cheap ones(minimum is 200 euros, max around 300) and no older phones). Thanks for help!

In a bid to give Razor a bit of competition (or add more PUBG mobile players I guess) Xiaomi has announced their plans for a Gaming Smartphone. This phone will be running a Snapdragon 845 with an Adreno 630 GPU and 8 GB of RAM and using a 5.99-inch IPS display with 97% coverage of DCI-P3 color space a 550 nit brightness. One of the features I thought sounded unique is that they supposedly have some sort of multi-stage direct contact liquid cooling system, which can supposedly drop CPU temps by 8-degrees C. Hot Hardware: https://hothardware.com/news/xiaomi-blackshark-android-gaming-phone-snapdragon-845-8gb-ram-128gb-storage Techspot: https://www.techspot.com/news/74149-xiaomi-launches-black-shark-compete-razer-phone.html Wonder if this would perform any better than the Liquid Metal mod that Linus did on the Razor Phone... Also wonder how good the battery life is on this given that they are going with a 4000 mAH. Although the 20 MP front and back facing cameras make for some impressive specs.

Good evening Since no one helped me over at Tom's Hardware, I'm gonna try my luck here. A couple of weeks ago, my Lenovo A536 got stuck in boot loop and then got into recovery mode, which I haven't been able to leave, and my attempts to flash the OS only bricked it completely. I've been looking for a new phone since then. I don't want another low-end device, so I'll increase my budget. After many hours spent on comparing various devices, reading reviews and going through benchmarks, I was decided to buy the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, which by their words should be available in my country by the next month. However, yesterday I've stumbled upon HTC U Ultra. According to what I've read, it's an unsuccessful flagship from the last year. It scored about 170K points in AnTuTu, 50K more than RN5 with its 120K. At about 8000 Czk (400$) in a reputable store, it is slightly more expensive than RN5, which when launched should be available from 6500 Czk (325$). I can't decide which one to buy. There are a couple of things I'm concerned about in case of the U Ultra. I have BT headphones, which support connection through 3,5mm connector in case I ran out of battery, so while I'm not happy about the connector's absence, I can get over it. What I'm more concerned about is the battery life. I don't expect the quad-core SD 821 to be very power efficient, so I don't know if the 3000 mAh battery will be sufficient, especially after some time. Another thing is OS updates. One of the things I like about Xiaomi is their support even for older devices. According to an article that I've read a few days ago, they're still updating phones up to 6 years old. On the other hand, almost every time I see a post by Huawei on Facebook, someone is complaining that once they release a new generation of smartphones, they almost immediately stop updating the previous one, and for example, the A536 I had before only received two small updates over the two and a half year I had it, so I don't know if I can trust HTC in this case. As for the rear camera, I found a few photos taken with both devices, and I think I like the pictures shot by RN5 a little bit more. I honestly don't care about the front one. Which one do you think I should buy? 400$ is a little bit more than I first intended to pay, so if you think the U Ultra is not that much better for the extra money, I'd rather go for Redmi Note 5. Thank you for all advice. PS: Feel free to unleash the full power of your inner grammar nazis upon me. I'd like to improve my English, so if I made any serious mistakes, feel free to smash them over my head.

Helo, Currently I am on my trusty Xperia Z1 but it starts to show age (lagging, parts falling apart, battery capacity). As I am on tight budget I was considering Xiaomi redmi 5 plus. What appeals to me: -big 6inch screen -4000 mah battery -Fast fingerprint scanner What I am worried about: -Is snapdragon 625 even an upgrade on snapdragon 800? -is xiaomi camera much worse than Sony z1? (camera is not a dealbreaker but I don't want absolute crap) Please post your thoughts, mainly if this is even an upgrade, or if I should stay away from that device. (I am aware of missing b20 lte).

After the recent launch of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, I have been hearing that Xiaomi will not officially release the new phone in the United States market, probably because of all the stuff the government is doing to get rid of Chinese phone companies. Anyway, I am considering importing the phone and I just wanted to understand the pro's and con's of buying an imported phone, if there are any. I know many Australians import cheaper phones, but obviously I'm not in Australia. Thanks!

I tried to look for a good priced smart desk lamp, and the only one that came up to me was Xiaomi's yeelight smart led lamp. However, I don't know if the yeelight is supported by google home and I do Not know if it will listen to my voice commands. Please, if anyone have anyidea on this, please reply asap!

Hello, i am looking for Xiaomi Notebook Pro alternatives, meaning the same specs or at least similar ones. Price range should be about 1100 cad or 860 usd. Please note, that the battery runtime is essential and so is the 8th gen intel cpu. Dedicated GPU, Precision Trackpad, Alloy/ Magnesium body and a NVMe SSD are required as well. I would be surprised if you know any device with a similar price tag. Kind regards

Hey guys, am considering buying either the xiaomi mi 5 3gb ram or mi aa 4gb ram, both are amazing phones i know, in my country there is a flash sale for mi 5 so its cheaper than a1 by about 40 bucks now, I am torn between the 5.5 inch display, audio dac and stock android vs the ex flagship processor, fast charging and better build quality, what do you guys think? I don't play much games, my usage is mainly media consumption, chatting, social media, and web browsing. I do a lot of multitasking switching between apps.

Hi. I have a Xiaomi mi a1 phone. I have android 8.0 oreo on it. I saw a lot of videos about the oreo's new features, one of them is that you can make a little window for your youtube videos, while you are running other app. I can't do this on my phone, maybe i should enable somthing. Sory for my English and sory if this is a wrong place for my topic.

I'm very disappointed with a couple of issues: 1 - Not so accurate white levels in screen (bluish tint) 2- No OTA yet (hoping to get fast charging and below fprint problem resolve soon with that) 3- Fprint reader sucks (takes 1-1.3 secs on avg) (not enough load...only 180 avg. apps installed) 4- laggy, stuttery, and slow performance overall (app animations are so damn laggy) 5- Camera app hangs at video rec. times 6- volume/ringer/alarm/media bar doesn't disappear after 1.5-2 secs. (takes forever or around 1 minute to self close)!! 7 - RAM usage never goes below 3.1 GiGs (Already the phone is advertised at 4gb) I'm still cautious about: 1 - I'm a fan of restoring to previous customized state so that after reformat/full wipe, i don't need to do the same hassle and start over. 2 - I wanna root my device but for only and only my favourite audio player viz. "Poweramp alpha build 704" (because of it's exquisite variety of settings and customizations ?). So I just want to ensure proactively if my device will whether return to normal state (as formerly unrooted) or not? Want a detailed and expert reply. ty in adv. ?

I do not get why the hype for Oneplus is still around when Xiaomi is so much cheaper for close to same specs? https://www.mytrendyphone.no/shop/xiaomi-mi-6-220486p.html vs https://www.mytrendyphone.no/shop/oneplus-5-64gb-220810p.html And yes in most cases around the world Xiaomi seems cheaper overall... Hi! We just transferred to a new condo and will be getting cable internet soon (25DL/2.5UL Mbps). I'm looking into buying a separate router as the provided 2-in-1 modem/router has really shitty WiFi. I'm already pretty much decided on the TP-Link C1200 which has everything I need and costs only around 70$. I am also a big fan of TP-Link as their UI is simple and easy to follow which means it's also alot easier to configure. I've had 3 TP-Link routers and so far I'm pretty satisfied with them. Just satisfied though, not amazed or anything haha. However, I found this sweet little router from Mi which only costs around 20$. It's already AC1200 but without gigabit LAN. I don't really NEED gigabit LAN as my internet speed isn't even near 100Mbps, but it is a big advantage when it comes to filesharing and streaming media from my PC to my AndroidTV (Mi Box). But, I really am a sucker for cheap bang-for-buck stuff (I have tons of Mi products) and it seems this Mi Router is one of those. Sadly I couldn't find a decent review about it. Most reviews are sketchy and seems to oversell the product without concrete proof of testing. So far my devices are as follows: Main Rig (AC 867 Mbps) - will probably be wired to the router. iPhone 5s old Macbook Pro (2013??) Dell XPS15 (Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1000) Huawei P9 (EVA-L19) Mi Box 3 The condo is a 2-floor flat with the router on the first floor and most of the devices mostly spread in the rooms on the second floor. Anyways TL;DR, does anyone have any experience with this "Mi Router 3". It seems too cheap for what it offers but hey, Mi products are usually like that (I have a Mi Band 2, a Mi Box 3, and a Xiaomi Hybrid Earphones)
