Hello, so, windows on my wifes laptop crashed and now it is looping in the blue screen registry error screen. The windows repair utility didn't pop up, so I tried the windows install/repair from usb. I tried everything from windows self repair to the system recovery and restore, but it didn't help or did anything at all. I tried the command prompt disk repair commands from this vid (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ODt6w3LUqY&list=PLnTOtUDZtxGysQgPzYbjdt7m6UucbBVCZ&index=15) but nothing worked. I tried install a fresh windows from the usb, but I cannot format or delete partions - error codes 0x80042428 and 0x80070017, so I can't even reinstall windows. I also tried access the drive via external usb system Fedora 39. The drive appears normal and is readable, can access and open windows files. From there I tried the disk utility and format the disk from there, but there is also some problem (error wiping device: failed to wipe signatures on the device '/dev/nvme0n1p3' (udisks-error-quark, 0) I don't know what to do. It is intel nvme m.2 Intel ssdpekkw256g7 The laptop is Acer nitro 5 an515-51-7103 Thanks for any help!

Hi, My computer will not boot into anything, other than Win10 safe mode on its boot drive. I cannot perform a clean install as every attempt to boot into an install USB causes a BSOD. I have read the rules for posting about BSOD related issues, however I cannot perform any of the steps required as I cannot boot into any working version of windows (including installation media). Unfortunately this means I cannot provide any dumps, I know this makes troubleshooting much more difficult. Find a description of my system followed by a brief explanation of the previous system configuration, and then an explanation of the testing and diagnosis I have done so far. I am now out of ideas and don’t know what to do next. System Details I have a i5 9600k, ASUS PRIME 390Z-P, 630w PSU and 32GB (4x8GB) of Corsair Vengeance memory. I have a variety of drives types (HDD, SSD, NVME) and all different sizes. The main and target drive for OS installation is a Samsung 990 Pro 2TB. Previous Configuration I was running my boot drive as Windows 10 Pro on a Samsung 980 Pro 1TB. One day I came home from work and the CPU was pinned at 100%. I did some investigating which resulted in turning off hyper-v as the fix, however I continued to see my CPU pinned at 100% and then suddenly a couple of weeks later this behaviour subsided (it did not completely disappear, it became intermittent). A few weeks later, I migrated my boot drive to the current 990 Pro and then started having boot issues. Originally, it would boot after a couple of tries. At this time I wasn’t using it often and I hadn’t noticed it had restarted and had stayed on a BSOD since. (It should be noted the BSOD error message is different every time) Testing and diagnosis Booting into safe mode from the 990 Pro works, both with networking and with command prompt. Sfc, bcd and other common command line tools report no errors with the OS, boot drive or other configuration. Booting into the Win10 boot drive, Win10 USB installer, Win11 USB installer, WinPE USB all fail each time with a BSOD (random / new error code each time). I have attempted to boot after the following: I have removed all drives from the system, the GPU, and all other peripherals. I have removed all but one memory stick and rotated which motherboard slot it is placed in. I have tried every combination of secure boot, fast boot and CSM for each boot attempt too. I have also completed a memory test (DOS style blue ish screen) with WinPE and the Win10 USB, which reports no errors with any of the 4 memory sticks (all tested individually) To be thorough, I used numerous different USB drives to attempt to boot, to eliminate this as a factor, with no changes to boot success. The BIOS has the latest update from ASUS, and has also been reset to factory defaults. I have left the computer several times boot looping, each time it may fail slightly earlier or later, and each time with a different error code. What to do? To me the next logical step would be to attempt to eliminate the PSU, motherboard, CPU (in that order). However I do not have spares for these components that I can drop in, and I would like to avoid buying new components “just to see”. I don’t believe I can conclude the CPU is dead, as it boots into safe mode just fine. I can even perform relatively heavy tasks like transcoding with ffmpeg without stability issues. I would be truly grateful if anyone has some insight into any other troubleshooting tips or suggestions. My data is backed up so I am open to wiping / deleting / resetting anything (although not sure what this could apply to as it still BSODs with no drives!)

So my pc is randomly crashing, even while doing nothing on desktop. it crashes like 50 times while installing win 11. i made a clean install with win 10 afterwards, no problem, but the random crashes stay. so today i found out that i cant play html5 videos, pc instantly crashes , no bsod, just if someone restarts it but with a black screen. im using AMD 7950x3d and the integrated GPU. all drivers are up to date, bios is up to date. it not the ram, i tried to run with 1 stick of 2 and turned xmp off. cpu is not over clocked, its on 65w mode and tdp limited to 70c° also when watching youtube videos, half of the screen has a different color. pic 1 pic 2 no idea how to fix that

So I am trying to pair my PC and phone via Bluetooth, but it connects for about half a second then disconnects and keeps on doing that. Connecting Bluetooth Speakers, Headphone, mouse or keyboard works fine. I tried going to device manager and in "Bluetooth Properties". Then to "Power Management" tab and Unchecking "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power", but even that did not solve the issue. Recently, just to try the Windows 11, I installed it in one SSD (on the same PC), and in that OS the Bluetooth paired successfully. Please help if anyone has any idea on what the issue is and what am I doing wrong? How do I fix it? Before i had ubuntu on my hdd and win 10 on ssd later i upgraded (i just deleted the partition of ubuntu (it was dumb)) to win 10 on ssd and win 11 on hdd I didnt use win 10 for a while but i was fed up with slow win11 on hdd. So in the bios i moved the m.2 drive up (the m.2 drive is just blank, no bootloaders i guess?) then it booted into win 11, when i removed hdd from the boot it just said no os found. i think my bootloader is on hdd. I still have the problem of grub being still on there.

I set a folder as custom toolbar on taskbar but everytime I shutdow/restart, next time when I open window it gone. I have searched for help before but all answers isn't actual solution for this.

Is there any good app can replace explorer.exe? No GUI is fine and better for me. I have only 4GB RAM so I want to reduce RAM usage as much as possible (even explorer.exe only use about 3~7% RAM in my laptop)

Hi everyone, hope you are well. Just the day before yesterday I upgraded from a 3700x to a 7800x3d. Asus tuf b650m- wifi New 2x16 corsair dominator 4800 Cl 36 New Samsung 970evo 2tb Fresh windows 10 install. I kept my old SSD running win 11, but after I upgrade I could not boot to it anymore, it gives failed and asks me rerty or try another SO. Funny thing, I have another ssd with an even older win 10 installation and it boots fine, I imaged that it is something related to tpm key that causes me to no be able to boot the older SO, but it is just a guess. Returning to the problem at hand, I installed the Chipset driver from AMD, weirdly the installation for the adrenalin failed, I downloaded 3 times I always gave error on install. Also installed steam, opera GX, notepad++, VMware player. But it seams that everything was fine for a couple of hours when I good a blue screen, memory management the first one. The Pc restarted and came back apparently normal. Started doing my business on opera watching some YouTube, but frequently the page crashes and I have to reload. Looking in the event loger it says the fault module is ntdll.dll Using "normally" again, a second blue screen happened, this time it was pfn list currupt. The Pc reboot again. I downloaded all windows update in the first boot after the upgrade and installation of windows 10. Using again, the ntdll.dll error kept happening and I kept needing to reload the page, but nothing to critical. Then a third blue screen happened, irlq not less or equal. This time the Pc got stuck after 100% and didn't self reboot. I was already worried and checked for any update that was missing on windows update, there were two but nothing major. Using it again with the crash on opera sometimes happening, a fourth blue screen happened, pool curruption in file area. This blue screen were not one after the another, I was able to use for maybe one hour and sometimes even more. During the night yesterday I kept watching a YouTube video for quite some time and nothing happend, I ended up getting sleepy, put it to shut down and went to up, waking up today I noticed that the event viewed prevented the shutdown, but no blue screen happened. I then restarted and started using, installed Bloons TD 6 and started playing while there was a video on the background, suddenly the game freezes and crashes, looking at the event viewer was another dll issue. I partition my 2tb Samsung into two disks (maybe could be something related?) The fresh windows install was on the new Samsung nvme. Right now I don't have prints, but I can get them latter if necessary. I will try to disable expo and see if something happens. But I am wondering if this is a win 10 issue and should I updated to 11. Is this a driver issue, CPU or memory? Have any of you gone through the same problem? My 2013 laptop, maybe thermal throtteling but is on 79C while gaming, when i start the laptop and launch any game quickly ex, roblox on a game that its unplayable, becomes playable with 30-40 fps avg than 10-20fps, Specs:Intel Pentium B960 2 Cores,2 Threads 2.20Ghz max Nvidia GT630M 1G vram DRR3 6G 1600mhz Every tweak for performance done bios is latest version so as the latest nvidia drives for the gpu available, tem Nvidia control panel to best settings in advanved 3D Idk but at Like the graphics options setting Power Saver/High performance settings its still on HD integrated one Lowest settings on every game CPU 76-79 C 80-100% usage depends on game while gaming GPU 78-81 C 10-100% depends Idk but after some minutes it starts to lag as i said in first sentence

I tried installing the StoreMI app from AMD's website because I wanted to see what it did and I thought my cpu's drivers were out of date, after installing it, it starting causing my pc to constantly crash so I tried uninstalling it through the Apps menu in the windows settings app and it caused the computer to crash while it was uninstalling, now my computer is refusing to load even into safe mode, nothing is working, on top of that bs, my computer is incapable of recognising my password for my microsoft account despite the fact I can sign into it through my laptop just fine with the same password, I have no idea what to do. I really don't want to reinstall windows but I have a feeling that I'm going to have to at this point, I'm really fucking pissed especially since I downloaded StoreMI directly from AMD (I made sure it wasn't a paid link or fake website) and now I lost access to my entire fucking computer because of this. I know, this is the 1 millionth time this has been asked. I recently built my computer (i7-13700k , 4070ti, DDR5 32GB) and installed Windows 10. I really did this due to outdated info on Windows 11 performance. I see now that Windows 11 works well with Intel Raptor Lake CPU's. My question is, what drivers do I need to grab for the upgrade. I've read Intel auto grabs drivers. What about my GPU?

I've tried most things and i cant seem to get it to work. i have this camera bug that starts to pan the camera every 4 seconds or so making camera movement impossible to aim. The fps is fine im around 80-110 and its not dipping when the bug is happening. i have tried the following so far: change from fullscreen to borderless turn of vsync in game turn off dlss change all graphics to low latest nvidia drivers and a reboot restart game turned off riva tuner in case the injection was causing it latest windows updates for win10 (not preview builds) Here is a video i recorded. in this im moving the mouse left and right at all times in the same speed.

I build a new rig in December last year. Sadly it keeps crashing over n over again while playing games. The Temps are good, the PSU is more than enough and the GPU is know good. There is no pattern when it crashes. Only while gaming (deep rock galactic and World of Tanks). My specs Cpu: Ryzen 7 5800x3d Gpu: Rx 480 red devil (i wanted to get the new rx 7900 xtx but i didn’t bought it so far. Its from my old rig) Mainboard: Asus x570pro wifi ii Psu: pure power 11fm 850w be quiet Ram: gskill trident z f4 3600 32gb Os: win 10 I use a 144hz ultra wide display with dp and a 60hz display with hdmi. Im afraid that i may damaged the cpu while installing. I forgot to open the socket and placed the cpu into it. Than i installed the cooler. The pc wouldn’t boot up and after some trouble shooting i discovered that i was a dummy. I reseated the cpu and it worked after that. i tried alot so fare windows Power management adjustment gpu downclocking older and up to date drivers of GPU with total driver purged between installations Reseating GpU reseating Cabels Fresh windows i checked crash reports without any info im desperate maybe someone could help me. I looked up if someone else had the problem and indeed people had same problems but there wasn’t any component similar to mine. And there was never a solution to this.

Currently its automatically opening "documents" on the C drive for saving, the least place i would think is suitable for pictures, and all my other Screen Snips are saved on another drive in a folder called "Screen Snips" and before the update it always automatically opened the last save location, so this folder and there wasn't an issue. So how do i change the automatic location again so it's stored where all the other Screen Snips are saved ?

This is something that started happening on my PC in the last couple weeks. Adobe Premiere Pro is completely unusable, because it fails to start up. It was working fine last month. It seems every time I leave my computer alone for a month, some random problem comes up that wasn't there before. Video:

Edit - 01/30/2023 Found my issue. The SATA ports I was using apparently decided to "nope" out in between testing and live installation. May have been my mistake, may have been why the board was cheap. We may never know. The title is the TLDR. My E: and F: drives will sometimes 'disappear' from Windows after the system restarts (they do not do this while the system is active, it is only after a restart/shutdown). The read/write to each drive is within spec when cross-referencing Crystal Disk Mark and the manufacturer's claims, and the system experienced no read/write/dismount errors during the 3 sessions of 8 hour testing that I've done trying to ensure drive reliability while they're appearing. EXPLORER, CHKDSK, and DSKMGMT cannot find the drives when they 'disappear' and, when they are appearing, there are no bad sectors/etc. that my testing has discovered. Formatting in both NTFS and exFAT (just because why not try at this point) doesn't change behaviour. My biggest issue with testing and diagnosing this issue is that none of it is entirely repeatable. Sometimes E: and F: appear through multiple restarts, and sometimes they don't appear for multiple restarts. Reseating the SATA data and power cables doesn't always cause them to reappear after a boot. I'm no novice to PC building so I don't think I've messed something up, but human error is always a possibility regardless of potential skill level (or hubris). At this point I'm out of ideas, short of dismembering the entire build, which isn't really something I'm looking forward to with my case (a custom-made skeletonised case based off a standard ATX tray that has a lot of partial coverage of components, making removing something as simple as a drive a 20 minute process of unscrewing layers without scratching something and jamming my sausage fingers into nooks). I've used the case with this board before, so I've verified there's no clearance issues or etc. Testing Information: C: and D: drives function as intended, swapping D:'s SATA to E: or F: seems to make each drive appear reliably. Swapped SATA cables of E: and F: drives. Tested Motherboard/CPU combo before fully building to ensure reliability. Reseated SATA to ensure they were making proper connection. Rerouted SATA cables on the off chance being routed alongside the 24-pin Motherboard power, 6-pin Motherboard supplementary power, and 8-pin GPU power was somehow creating enough electronic interference to cause sporadic registering. Created a custom Power Plan and disabled drive hibernation because desperation. *Cleared CMOS and ran Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool. Computer Specs/Information: (All items were cross-referenced with ASROCK's QVL list) Motherboard: ASROCK AB350 Pro4 (I know, but it was literally 50 USD brand new, on sale) Motherboard BIOS: 7.20 (Beta), released 2022/5/27 (I tried several BIOS iterations before upgrading to this point) RAM/Memory: G.SKILL F4-3200C16D-16GTZB CPU: Ryzen 7 1700 (at stock clocks for now) GPU: Sapphire RX 480 8GB Nitro+ (at stock clocks for now) Power Supply: Corsair RM750x (total system wattage is slightly under 450 watts peak, or 675 watts theoretical if you want to assume the RX 480 8GB is going to have transient spikes which double wattage). Operating System: Windows 10 Professional, fresh install was 2 days ago, build 19045.2130, 64-bit (Currently haven't activated Windows due to this issue but I haven't seen reports that Microsoft limits drives with an un-validated OS) Drive C:: OCZ RADEON-R7SSD-240G Drive D:: WD1003FZEX-00MK2A0 Drive E:: WD1003FZEX-00MK2A0 (yes, it's a separate drive) Drive F:: HDS723030ALA640

I have a TrueNas Core server I just setup. I was wondering if there is a way to keep certain file types from going into certain folders or data sets. It can be through truenas or win10/11. I have looked all over with no result only thing I found was for windows server 2012. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Whenever I try to run the update Windows tool, I am met with the attached error, in addition I tried updating to windows 11 via the installation assistant on Microsoft's website, and it stayed on downloading, 0% progress for 3 hours. I have had terrible experience with Microsoft customer support previously, so I hope you guys can save me. Also my computer has a bunch of other wierd random buggy things, idk if they are related. I can do all the hardware stuff when it comes to computers, but the software just confuses me.

its notorious id guess windows is faster to setup wiothout wifi so i did that, now my virtual machine refuses to allow wifi. even tho the "ethernet is there. tried disabling and reenabling. any ideas? isorry if this is obvious

So fixed everything on my pc for win 11 to run on it(that windows check tool says I'm good to go), then the official update came, show that my win 11 is here and download and install button, but when I try to do it, install window pops up and then says this: Unsupported disk layout for UEFI firmware. So I found out that I need to convert my os partition from mbr to GPT. Tryed to do it, but nothing, it just says in command prompt : cannot find os partition for disk error. Is there any easy and quick fix for it? Tnx for help

Hi all- So, I'm looking for a solution to stream LDAC quality audio from my xm4's wirelessly to my windows 10 desktop. I see the BTA30 is looking like my best option...(as I read that windows does not support LDAC natively I see, I guess the consumer can go fuck themselves, and; yet again, Sony is sad)- anyway I'm a huge beginner at audiophile type stuff; especially codecs- so I wasn't super confident about setting up the BTA30 myself, which looks like it has coaxial and optical in/out ports, but also a USB-C port. I saw a similar thread from over a year ago talking about this unit, but it was never answered if/and or/ why LDAC streaming isn't possible when the BTA30 is connected to your win10 desktop (thru USB 3.0?+ does it matter?) via USB-C instead of using the optical ports. If this isn't possible using the devices' own USB-C port, then i'd ask how the hell I would go about hooking it up using the optical ports, if that's my only other option. I'm really looking for the most latency free/lossless experience possible. (yes I know bluetooth= no "lossless", i.e, bad, yes I know- I want to get as close as I'm able to, however) Thanks for yall's time and expertise

Hi why some times the cpu gets hot doing nothing, apparently ? I just start windows 10 on a pc and frome time to time the cpu gets >70ªc with the NH-D15 there is no load only windows and crome opens.. Thanks for your tips

I’m try to wipe my pc for sale. Booted in safe mode and went to Settings > Update & Security> Recovery when I click recovery I get the error message “the system detected an overrun of a stack-based buffer in this application. This over run could potentially allow a malicious user to gain control of this application.” and then it closes to desktop
