Hi, so I recently bought NH-D15 Chromax Black as a temporal replacement for faulty H115i Pro RGB and I expected little to no difference. I was so wrong. CPU is idling at 70C and under load it goes up to 96C. I have already tried to reaply thermal paste 2 times and it didnt help much. Is there something I can do to fix it? My PC: Case: NZXT H440 CPU: AMD 3950X Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 Chromax Black MB: AsRock X570 Taichi RAM: G.Skill TridentZ RGB 4x16GB 3200Mhz GPU: MSI Gaming GTX 1080 Ti PSU: Corsair AX860 Fans: Bequiet Silent Wings 3 (3x120mm front, 1x140mm rear) Storage: Samsung 960 Pro 512GB, Adata SX8200 500GB, 6x Seagate IronWolf 6TB

Hey, I have recently built my own pc for the first time. It's been a week now since I'm using it and I've noticed that my Ryzen 7 5800x CPU temperatures are higher than what I'm used to. CPU: Ryzen 7 5800x MOBO: ASUS Tuf GAMING x570-plus - Latest BIOS v.3001 CPU COOLER: MasterAir MA410P CASE: PHANTEKS ECLIPSE P400S TEMPERED GLASS - 3 fans in front. 1 exhaust in the back Maybe it's normal, I don't know but I feel like that's a bit high. For example, Having chrome open, opening outlook. When the mails start loading, the temp. rises to 65 sometimes 70°C. On idle, it varies between 45-55°C. Bios settings are default. Only thing I changed is the XMP profile for my RAM speed. I've tried to re-apply the thermal paste with a slightly more amount than last time. Same results. Under load the temperature rises to 80-89°C with 50-60% utilisation while my GPU is at constant 65°C with 100% utilisation. Should I be worried or is that completely normal for this CPU?

Hello! When my laptop is not plugged in, the CPU does not really turbo at all, hovering around 1.9Ghz, however, when plugged in, the CPU just sits at 3.9Ghz all the time for no apparent reason (same profile on Armoury Crate). How can I prevent my CPU from turboing up its clock speed when plugged in as it is really murdering my temps (50 degrees idle on battery, 70-80 idle plugged in). Yes, I understand why it does this, but at this point I'd prefer good temps to the constant annoying fan noise. Thanks! Moz

Hey Everyone, I wound up getting a pre-built PC Cyberpower with an AMD 3700X CPU, Gigabyte B550 AC MOBO, and an AMD Challenger 5700XT. The good thing is there is plenty of room for me to upgrade in the future, however, the question I have is regarding the temperatures of the Challenger 5700XT. From what I have read on Reddit, it seems the Challenger cards will typically run hotter than the other 5700XT cards. I was playing COD Cold War Zombies earlier with the AMD Software Metrics on the second monitor. When the game was really busy, I was seeing high 80's to a max of 94 C in temperature. Before playing the game, I had Undervolted the GPU through the AMD Software as it seems a lot of the people were having to to do the same thing on the same PC as me. I had wanted to see if anyone else has this particular card and if so, have you undervolted? What kind of temperatures are you seeing? What is considered normal for the temperature of this particular GPU? I can swap out parts, but when it comes to the software end of things, thats where Im still new to it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have included a screenshot of what the default fan curve out of box is and what the settings of the undervolting I had done are. Kindest Regards,

Hello, I was recently playing DOOM 2 and I went to look at my temps out of curiosity and saw I was running at 87 Celsius! Naturally this caused me to stop playing as I wanted to observe the idle temps. The lowest I've seen my CPU hit while nothing is running is 51 degrees, which seems very high. I ran a stress test and the maximum temperature that was achieved was 90 and it never moved above that. After all this I decided to reapply the thermal paste of the CPU to see if that would help but alas the results are still the same. The CPU is question is a ryzen 5 3600 bought relatively recently and I am using the stock cooler. I have a Phanteks case which has some of the best airflow on the market right now and I've heard that the Wraith is a really good cooler. I have not overclocked so these temperatures are really concerning. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to why they would be so high. Thanks, Aktarius

Hello!! I have a PC that was built in a different case and I decided to upgrade into a new case and water supply and now I'm getting weird temperature spikes on Core 5. On top of that the whole PC seems to running hotter. (All temps given will be in Celsius) (Ambient temperature is 72 degrees Fahrenheit) The computer idles around 30 degrees all cores except every 3 seconds Core 5 jumps to about 47 degrees. Then drops back down. Under Cinebenech load I got the computer as high as 80 degrees with Core 5 reaching 82 degrees. The old build was a generic case and Corsair H100i (240mm Radiation) that under the same load would sit at 25 degrees idle and 65 under the fullest load with a 4.7 GHz overclock. Any and all ideas would be appreciated!! Thank you! Case. Lian Li 011 Dynamic Cooler. Lian Li Galahad 360 Thermal Paste Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut (exhausted top) Fans. I've made a new build about a month ago with NZXT 510i case and NZXT X53 AIO. That way i had 2 front intake 2x120mm fans, 1 exhaust at the back 120mm and 1 exhaust in the top, all NZXT fans provided with the case and the AIO. That was working pretty well and it was quite, really quite, and ran smoothly. That was good but! The one thing i had considerations for my setup was if i should get the overpriced Z series AIO with the screen or not, which i initially skipped because of the price, although there was a Amazon sale 50% the other week and i bought it- Z63 to replace it and sell the X53. I've done that and I've now got 2x140 mm intake with the same 2x120mm exhaust and think this is bugging the airflow. I've done builds before and i thought i may bug it, but anyway I went for it.. My PC become quite noisier and the CPU would easily get warmer and cause the fans to spin faster and louder. I'm thinking to switch the top exhaust fan with 140 mm one, as that's the only possibility to upgrade the cooling at this point, but i'm wondering if that would make a good improvement. Also would you recommend me getting the NZXT AER RGB 2 - 140mm fan, or a good Noctua without RGB would do better, and how much better. If that helps CPU is Ryzen 5 5600x, running on Asus ROG Strix X570-E motherboard with currently old 1080 TI GPU. Thanks in advance!

Hello guys, I have a problem with mu gpu temperature. I noticed my fans going wild while playing not so gpu intensive games (like CS:GO on optimal settings for online play so basically on low) and downloaded MSI Afterburner to monitor the situation. I saw temperatures rising above 80C while playing so naturally I decided to try and fix that. Earlier this day I disconnected the gpu, cleaned it from dust and replaced the thermal paste. I plugged back in the gpu and booted my PC. At first it looked promising but as soon as I booted CS:GO again temperatures started rising above 80C again. Note that I am using CS:GO as a reference since it's not that intensive for the gpu. Also, when I put my hand near where the air is blowing out it doesn't seem that hot. Idle temperature is around 37C. So what could be causing this problem? Anyways, thanks in advance, Michael

Hello i have overclocked my 1600 to 3.9GHZ @ 1.3625 volts on stock cooler. Everything seems to be okay i stressed the cpu using Aida and cpu temps stop at around 77-78. How ever i checked on MSI after burner and noticed many spike in temperature usually around 6-9 degree spikes. I used different software CPUID and it also shows the same spikes. I checked the CPU temps in BIOS and there it seems stable it doesnt fluctuate. Im just wondering if this okay? thanks here is the image of the spikes

Just switched from Intel to AMD, and hwinfo looks a bit different. What is the right temperature to trust? Is it ''CPU Die (average)''? (See image) Thanks

Hi, I have the Pc with following specs : Core i3 9100f Corsair 8gb 2666mhz ram MSI GTX 970 Cooler Master v8 cpu cooler Asus Rog b360h motherboard Antec 300 casing Seasonic 500w semi modular So I put together all parts 3 weeks back (except 970) everything working fine except little but strange issue. Core #1 runs at 20-25c hotter than other cores on mild load or on full load ( Below attached pick is taken after exporting 1080 h264 video in premiere pro). For example remaining cores are running at 50c on load but core 1 is running at 70c and jumping around ,which makes cpu cooler fan run at max speed (which is very loud like vaccum cleaner). I normally play CSGO DOTA and valorant and cpu usage hardly crosses 78% on these games. Other than that I do video editing for living and use Premiere Pro and After Effects for that. Things I have tried : used stock cpu cooler (temps are worst overall) Replaced thermal paste. Reseated Cpu. Changed orientation of Cpu cooler to blow air through top vent Undervolted by -0.135 using Intel xtu (max temp on core 0 fell to 65-69c and no fan speed fluctuations) Cooler Master v8 is nice cooler with Good Tdp and 9100f wont be problem for it but somehow cpu is malfunctioning. Looking forward to hear from you guys. Thanks

For a while now my stock i9-9900k, being cooled by the Kraken x72 has been thermal throttling. This usually happens when under high loads which, since I do a lot of work in Unreal Engine is a big issue. The temperature typically spikes to the late 80's when running Prime95 and occasionally ticking into the early 90s. This is all on stock speeds with default BIOS settings. I have tried adjusting the CPU core frequency and offset settings to no avail. Below is a screenshot of the results during thermal throttling while running Prime95. Bouncing between 800MHz and 4.7ghz. I have also tried re-seating the AIO cooler several times and cleaning all the associated parts etc.

So back when I still had the card relatively new, the temps wouldn't go above 60c at full load, with the fan speed running at about 70% speed. However to my dismay I have now noticed that my GPU even goes as high as 80c under full load (and thats with the fan speed being about 90% mind you since I increased the speed in an attempt to remedy the issue. Not much luck so far) I have tried to fix it by disassembling the card, cleaning out the old thermal compound and replacing it with a fresh layer, yet the issue still persists. I have also thoroughly cleaned the heatsink and the fans to the best of my ability to no avail. I am using the Corsair Obsidian 750D Airflow Edition case so I highly doubt airflow is the issue either. I could really use all the help I can get here as honestly I'm just out of ideas by now. Not to mention the fact I am planning to sell the GPU once my RTX 3080 arrives since I pre ordered it and I can't just sell a faulty GPU to someone. Please help.

Goodmorning, I would like to create a thread for all threadripper zen2 owners just to compare the different results each of us reached. I would like to use a simple format like this: CPU TYPE: example 3960x COOLING TYPE: example ek strx40 monoblock for zenith 2 extreme + ek d5 pump + 2x360 radiators WATT ABSORBED UNDER FULL LOAD: example 400w TEMPERATURE: example 75/80 degrees Notes: - Room temperature we could say it is 25 degrees. If it is more or less extreme please specify it. - For testing please use a software to maximize your watt usage like OCCT full power test. - For watt absorbed please use hwinfo and CPU PACKAGE POWER (SMU). Thank you

The problem: After switching processors (and motherboards) the cpu temps start at around 30 degrees celsius and slowly creep up to around 75 degrees celsius and then I have to turn the pc off in order to no damage the CPU. I switched from a i5 7600k and an ASUS z270-a to an i9 9900k with ASUS ROG STRIX z390-f. I changed no other components. For cooling I have the Kraken X62. My PC:s components: RTX 2080TI ROG STRIX i9-9900k 2x8gb g.skill ripjaws ddr4 3200mhz Corsair CX600W (yeah a bit low, but planning on keeping everything at stock until I get a new psu, shouldn't affect the CPU temps right?) Samsung 970 Evo M.2 1TB Kingston 120gb ssd (windows) 1TB Hitachi hdd My first suspicion was that the cooler was plugged in incorrectly. Not the case, tried both options: using the x62 manual and also connected it to the AIO_PUMP (the fans in CPU_FAN and CPU_OPT). Then tried re-applying the thermal paste and re-installing the cooler. Didn't work. The thermal paste is a couple of years old and I don't remember what brand it is. Could it be that the thermal paste has gone bad or it just is bad? Help is very much appreciated, don't know what to do.

So I live in very weird place and at my local market those cpus retail literally at same price. You may think that's no brainer go 3600XT. But I'm on tight budget so I'm considering keeping my old Deepcool 200t cooler(2 heat pipes large fan nothing fancy) I think its little better than stock one . 3600XT is about 4-5 hotter in benchmarks ? So I'm really confused do I have to be worried about Temperatures ?

When I play Call of Duty Warzone, the in-game gpu temperature monitor shows that the NVIDIA RTX 3070 FE gpu is usually at 77C. When I play Overwatch, the in-game gpu temperature monitor shows that the NVIDIA RTX 3070 FE gpu is usually at 78C. Is my gpu temperature to hot? What temperature does the gpu have to be for it to start thermal throttling?

I have an i7 9th gen and a RTX 2070 max q, in a HP omen 15 chassis. I created two power plans for my laptop using throttle stop. Both plans are undervolted by 130mV. The first one has disabled turbo and a speed shift of 120. This is for browsing, photoshop, Maya 3d modelling etc. The second plan is the same but with Turbo enabled and a speed shift of 150. This is just for gaming. When i use the first plan i get around 60-70 FPS in gta 5 but temps stay at 65-80 range. In the second plan i get around 100 fps but temps go up to 95C in some cores. If i use the second plan just for gaming and use the first one regularly is that okay for my laptop in the long run or should i stick to the first one for everything? (My fps does drop in gta online to 40-50 if i disable turbo, and i get around 20 less fps in other games too)

my little brother was asking for a gaming pc and i had an old fm2 motherboard from my previous computer. we were thinking of getting him a ryzen cpu but i suggested to settle for the old fm2 motherboard for now considering the only game he plays is roblox and minecraft. so using my fm2 board i paired it with an A8-7680 I got for $20 online which he's using as a placeholder for a ryzen cpu with a GTX 1650 (the gpu is a bit overkill for this apu but i bought it because he's getting a ryzen cpu in the future as i mentioned before, and yes i could have gotten an rx 570 but that's more expensive in my area). Minecraft and roblox are running fine but my only concern are the horrible temperatures. The cpu is cooled with an aftermarket cooler, an arctic mx-4, and four 120mm case fans ALL RUNNING AT MAXIMUM SPEEDS 24/7 with the most optimal airflow. And yet, the cpu is running at 60c when surfing the internet, 70c while watching a 1080p 60fps youtube video, and 80c while gaming. This is really bothering me. I have re-applied the paste several times using different application methods each time until I ran out and still it's running at those same temperatures. Is this normal for the A8-7680 apu? Is it because of this cheapo cooler I bought for $10? I've also noticed that it's not even hitting its advertised "3.8ghz boost", it gets stuck at 3.680ghz-3.7ghz. I received this laptop yesterday and have been worried about the temperature as the fans will ramp up and the temperature goes up to around 70C when i watch youtube streams on fullscreen. But if I watch twitch it stays around 50-55C. Was just wondering if this was normal for anyone else who has this model, thanks! I also did all the windows updates and checked the bios is the most updated.

Hi guys I have a pc built in 2015 with the following specs: Intel core i7 5820k, msi x99a motherboard, gigabyte g1 980 ti and a corsair h110i cpu cooler. When I turned on my computer today I noticed that the fans were spinning at a higher rpm than normal at idle. Then my pc became really slow probably due to overheating and then it shutdown. When I turned it on again it only stayed on for 20 seconds giving me enough time to reach the bios and see that cpu temps were at 97 degrees with fan rpms at 0. Strangely enough the fans were running even though it indicated that it was at 0 rpm. I then let the pc cool down for a few hours then I tried to turn it on again. Now nothing is coming up on the screen and the pc shuts down after 15 seconds of turning it on. Could my cpu pump have failed? Or is it another issue? Please help. Thank you.

Hi, Helping someone on the /r/buildapc subreddit and he is running an R5 3600 w. the stock cooler. I know they can run toasty but his chip is spiking to 99C. He has already reseated the cooler with new paste and the problem persists. So I then asked him to run R20 with Ryzen Master in the background to monitor temps/voltage. He reported CPU core power draw of 66W and package draw of 85W. Nothing wrong there. However, all core voltage was sitting steadily at 1.46-1.47v, which is way too high for Zen 2...? One core, a spike, 1.45+ volts is fine, but not sustained for a continual load across all cores, surely? This has to be reason for his high temperatures, right? I am going to suggest MB BIOS update, ensure latest chipset drivers installed, and ensure he is running the Ryzen Balanced Power plan. He either has the most garbage tier 3600 in history (that barely made the certification to be a 3600), or there is an issue with hardware pumping too much voltage to the CPU, whether via a bad BIOS, or his power plan? Just sanity check my logic first before I send him on a wild goose chase!

I have an NZXT Kraken M22 AIO and a Ryzen 5 3600x. My CPU shows that it is 95C on idle in Windows, but in the bios it shows that its around 65C. Regardless something is probably broken but I'm not sure what. In NZXT Cam software, it shows my clock speed is constantly running at 3900MHz, but in Ryzen Master it shows the speed hovering around 980-1000 MHz idle. I have a few ideas to what the problem is, but I would like a second opinion. In the BIOS as well, I have a Gigabyte X570 Gaming X board, and in the bios under Smart Fan 5 I put the speeds to "Full Power" (or something similar). My best guess is that my pump is failing/failed but other than that I'm not sure what the issue is.

I have an Asus 14 inch notebook - Vivobook 14 M409DA. It's two months old. It has a Ryzen 3250u (2nd gen, Zen+) (2.6~3.5GHz 2c4t) (TDP 15W) with an integrated vega 3 After a video conference for one hour, the CPU is under 11-16% usage maintaining ~1.4GHz , fluctuating. and the iGpu is at 4-10% usage. THE CPU AND GPU MAINTAIN 50°c CONSTANTLY Are these temps OK? The ambient temperature here is pretty warm...coz india. Also, the laptop has a macbook air 2020 like heat pipe-less cooling design. At idle...it's at around 39-42°c with the cpu at 1-3%...and the gpu at 0-1% use. The chassis never feels warm tho. It also remains dead silent. Should I be concerned about the temperatures? If these are high, are they high enough to reduce longevity for my system?
