Budget Racing Sims It's the title but to make this for something that people can look for in the future I wanted to make this more professional and with some goals! I am assuming price budgets are for NEW items. Let's set some price budgets: Steering Wheels: Bare minimum budget - (Wheel Only) 100-150 USD: Premium Wheel - (Can include pedals bundled.) 200-300 USD: High End Wheel - 300-700 USD: Stand Alone Pedals: I'm assuming that if you are looking for pedals then you probably already have a decent wheel as most budget setups come with pedals already. Generic stand alone tri-pedal setup - (Clutch, Gas, Break) 100-150 USD: Premium weighted pedals - 200-300 USD: High end electronically haptic adjustable pedals - 400-800 USD: Shifter & Handbrake: Here's where we get tokyo drifting bois, Lets hit mount akina with our AE86's Generic shifter - 60-150 USD: Premium Shifter - 150-300 USD: Generic Handbrake - 60-150 USD: Premium Handbrake - 150-300 USD: If you guys have some recommendations on rigs for people to mount them as well toss those in too! If you guys can fit VR into the budget you wouldn't regret it! There are decently affordable and well performing Windows Mixed Reality headsets out there that can add so much to the experience. I cant wait to see what the community recommends as I will probably be splurging sometime soon on some hardware due to me just recently purchasing a 1990 Mazda Miata and wanting to turn it into a track/drift car! EDIT: I think it's time to try something new, so I'm open to different game genres. Hello everyone. I've been playing racing games my whole life basically. I went through the entire NFS saga, from "The Need for Speed" to "Heat" (including Shift), Gran Turismo, Forza, The Crew, Colin McRae/Dirt, Grid, FlatOut, Project Cars, Assetto Corsa, Wreckfest, Driver, Destruction Derby, Midnight Club, CarX Drift and a lot more. I went out of ideas. Can anybody help me find a good racing game? I pretty much got bored of playing all of these titles already. Currently I only own a gaming PC. So, any ideas?

I have a pc steering wheel and pedals from the early 2000s but the connector is one that died with windows 98, any ideas how to get them up and running on my windows 10 pc? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have a ferrari thrustmaster racing wheel spyder for quite a while now and i have been playing on xbox one. Now i wanna shift to pc and wanna know if there is any way i can connect the wheel to my laptop. I am very desperate. Does any one know any custom drivers that have been made? When i connect the wheel only a few buttons work. Also if that doesnt work, are there any good wheels under $150 usd?

I'm building a gaming PC for a friend. This isn't my first go around. But I'm a software guy and don't keep up with the latest and greatest hardware devices so I need some help finding a PC to fit these specs. 1. Budget & Location The budget sits at between $300 USD - $500 USD. Cheaper is better. Try to keep it under $400 USD if possible. 2. Aim It needs to be able to run iracing (https://www.iracing.com/membership/system-requirements/). It will be used for iracing and games of similar requirements. 3. Monitors I am going to connect the display to an existing HDTV. No monitors are necessary. 4. Peripherals I do not need a copy of Windows. I do not need a hard drive. I have 3 of those sitting around not in use I will throw into it. I will need 3 sata cables for each drive as I don't have any. I will need a mouse. I already have a spare keyboard. It does not need an optical drive.

Hello! I recently got DiRT3 on steam because I love racing games. First problem was easy enough to figure out. Even though there's a fancy 8x MSAA thing, the game will not let you use it because I guess it prefers AMD for this game and I have NVIDIA. Fine, whatever. But the main issue is the microstuttering. I'm gaming on a 180hz 1080p monitor and while I can get way more than enough frames for the game (able to push 370fpsg minimum) I cannot get the microstuttering to go away. Does anyone have a fix for this? Included is a video. Watch the rims just stop for a fraction of a second. This is literally every 2 seconds. anyone have a fix for this? 2019-04-02 20-11-14.mp4

I'm looking at getting into racing and playing games with a wheel setup but I'm not looking at not spending over one thousand dollars so maybe like 700 to 800 in total that would include shifter petals and wheel I will be playing forza horizon 4 and 3 and maybe some other titles the only setup I could find was a Logitech g920 with the shifter and wheel stand pro v.2 but I haven't heard too many good things with this setup there is a lot of wheels and petal setups so I cant find a good combo that works together so I had to ask if anyone could help me decide

Hi. Are there any car racing games for children (6 years old) that support racing wheels? Games like Forza are way too difficult for them. A more simple, maybe even older game like Sega Rally would do. Do you know such games on PC or Xbox One? Thanks.

By Wheel Setup i mean something that has pedals+wheel doesn't need a shifter since im ok with using padel shifters. Best racing wheel for 400$? No More. I was thinking of a combination from this thrustmaster base which is 160$, this wheel add on which is 95$, and these pedals which are 150$ for a grand total of 405$. If you find something cheaper, that doesn't really change the feel that much, then thats even better

I'm looking at pc force feedback racing wheels, and two stand out to me: the Logitech G920 ($245), and the Thrustmaster TMX ($160). They both seem to have high reviews, and both have force feedback, but the TMX is almost $100 cheaper. Does anyone have experiance with these? Is the difference really worth $100 or would the TMX be a good experiance and better value? $245 is a little more than I was hoping to spend. Thanks! -
the brake is the clutch because I remapped them (the one that only gets to 1 bar when fully pressed down) won't fully activate or work if that mwakes sense. the clutch is mapped as the brake. The best Of the best Wheel+Shifter+Pedal Combo under 350$? the pedals have to have a clutch, and the shifter has to be an H shifter. You can go ham with everything else. Been looking at a g29/920 and i think their ok, but i wanna ask the community if they have anything better to offer. Thanks for reading and hopefully you can help me out

I decided to play GT3 again purely out of nostalgia. I used to play this game a lot when I was 12 and it was one of the few PS2 games I owned since they were really expensive at the time. This is the only Gran Turismo title I played. It’s basically a racing simulator game where you compete in different leagues with restricted events. The game also encourages you to tune your car with massive upgrades to gain an advantage over your opponents. You start the game with 18.000 credits. This leaves you with the option of buying rather slow cars like the Mazda Mx5, the PT Cruiser or the Yaris. It’s very frustrating because you can buy a Camaro for not much more cash than that and it’s a wayyy better car. Most people would go with the Mx5 because it’s basically the fastest and best handling car you can start with. But that’s a huge mistake! There’s a Yaris only championship early in the game that allows you to get enough cash to buy something like an Evo or a Camaro as a second car. I like how the game introduces model specific events like that so that you have to think twice before buying a car. Keep in mind that completing race events rewards you with a car. Interestingly, Japanese cars are rewarded like 99% of the time. So you’ll probably want your second car to be American or European, because there are some American/European only events. I wish I knew that sooner. Actually, it doesn’t matter. At one point or another you’ll win a race car from one of the championships in the amateur league. And then the game becomes rather...boring! You’ll just wipe the floor in most other events as opponents drive much slower cars. This is somewhat mitigated with event rules that restrict the type of car you can use. But it’s only a matter of time until you win another race car of a different type or model...and then another one...another one... To make things worse, a lot of the championships just feel the same (especially the ones with the same restrictions) because there aren’t many race tracks in the game. I am thinking maybe 7 or 8. The game just becomes a grind as you finish each event out of completionism. In one hand Gran Turismo 3 is everything that I remembered: a fun racing game with lots of different cars and an awesome sound track. On the other hand, the game loses its charm once you win your first race car and every other car in the game just feels slower. I just wish that the different car categories (with regards to performance) were represented more. For example, the Honda S2000 is a blast to drive but you never really have a reason to drive one because a much faster car can be won early into the game. How are the more recent Gran Turismo games compared to GT3?

So my birthday is coming up soon and right now im using a plastic dining chair as my desk chair. I spend around 7 hours a day in it and I think its time for an upgrade. And has anyone purchased one and know how comfortable they are? Should I even look at chairs from gtforce? Are racing chairs in general any good?

So I was thinking about picking up a new Racing Game sometime soon and I noticed that most of the Racing Games out there today are still following the same general template as they were years ago. I was looking at fun indie-style games such as "My Summer Car" as well as AAA super-realism titles such as "Forza Motorsport 7". I then realized something, if you took the building, customization, hilarious comedy, and crash/mechanical failure physics of My Summer Car and combined that with the surrealism of Forza Motorsport, you would end up with the greatest racing game of all time! Whats going on in my head is a sort of Open-World MMO racing game like the "Forza Horizon" or "The Crew" Series, then each player spawns into their new world with a junk car that is broken and needs to be repaired. Once repaired, the player can participate in online races or participate in side missions to earn money to buy parts to upgrade their car or buy a new one. The main idea would be to stay away from supercars such as Ferraris and Lamborghinis and focus on car modifications for performance. In an ideal world, the fastest factory cars available in this game would be higher-end hot-hatchbacks and mid-tier sports cars such as the 2018 Ford Focus RS. It would also be nice to require maintenance such as oil changes, as found in My Summer Car. From there, you could add in mechanical issues such as head gasket failure for someone who sits there and constantly revs their engine to the red line. In short, you take the mechanical and technical side of My Summer Car or Car Mechanic Simulator 2018, and you throw it into an MMO Open-World senario with AAA graphics, surreal handling and crash physics, and you have youself a game that basically equates to real life. I drive a modified VW GTI IRL and I love meeting up with friends in the mountains to go for a nice blast. Essentially, this game would allow you to own my car as I do, as I NEVER take my car to the shops due to my modifications, and I work on it all the time. It would give players the ability to own their dream build, with limitless customization options. The only issue with this idea? Im not a game designer. I dont know how to program games AT ALL. So I guess unless a serious developer takes this idea seriously, it is all just a pipe-dream for now :(. Let me know what you think about this idea, and also suggestions for changes!
