I bought an R9 270x and everytime I turn on my pc it won’t boot, won’t post, nothing. I look at my motherboard and it’s stuck on the “video” light. I have a B460M-Plus (WiFi) motherboard by ASUS. I tried everything and I can’t game properly because of it. I don’t know what to do and I need help.

Hello Everyone, Hoping someone can help me out here. I just received a Sapphire Dual-X R9 270X 2G D5 for free from a friend. I know this is an old card but it is better than what I previously had. I put it in my Gateway FX6800-09 and booted up the system. The system is bone stock other than now has 12 gb of RAM. The card has no issues and runs completely fine on benchmarks (Unigine Heaven) and games such as Fortnite other than randomly has huge frame drops from like 60 fps down to 10-15 for very short periods. I troubleshot this and determined if I increase the power limit by 10-20% the issue goes away. So then I decided to fire up afterburner and see how much the card really has regarding overclocking. But whenever I change the core clock or memory clock I instantly have massive fragments all over the monitor even if there is no stress on the gpu. That being said I can fire up the benchmark and after 5 or so seconds the fragmenting stops and the benchmark runs fairly smoothly. However when I close the benchmark the fragmenting resumes. So I figured maybe the card had no headroom and I tried to under clock by 10 or 20 MHz. To my surprise the same thing happens on the under clock as the over clock. The card seems to be very unstable and will crash eventually. Does anyone know what would be the cause of this while it runs super smoothly at stock speeds. Also them temperature under load after 20 minutes is around 75 C. Thanks

Hey Guyz.. I have a dell precision t3500 with x5670 at stock speed.. can't overclock because my motherboard doesn't support overclocking and can't buy another cpu or motherboard because i don't have that much money right now.. so i have a chance to get an r9 270x at 75$ which is really good for that performance and my powersupply support that card also i know my gpu will be on the lower side but atleast i can buy that ri8 now otherwise i have to wait alot.. i will change my gpu in future but ri8 now i can only buy that.. i wanted to ask can i achieve 50 -60 fps in modern AAA titles like fortnite, gta 5 , doom , rise of the tomb raider at 1080p? and can i achive 50 - 60 fps in bad optimize games like pubg? i like pubg alot can i achieve 50 to 60 fps in 1080p very low in pubg or if not then is it possible in 720p? overall specs are xeon x5670 at stock 525 watt psu with two 6 pin 8 gb ddr3 ram

Hummm I have 3 PC Setup At Home, 1 for me that I can run what ever I want in max setting and 2 others with more "low end" in mind like playing minecraft with 2 of my friend but some thing seams weard, I have 1 of the 2 low end equip with: FX8350 8 core Radeon R9 380 24Go de ram(to off load rendering over night on this pc and be able to render 2 thing same time even if it doesn't have the best GPU) as you can see in the first photo even with just minecraft open, My GPU Filker between 90% and 0% amd that cause lot of lag spikes and over all I have between 50 and 100 fps with everything at minimum as exemple, This is my more Low end PC FX 6300 Six Core Radeon R9 270X 8G of ram this pc get only 5Go of ram allocated to minecraft and the first one has 10Go of ram allocated because of less overall ram This pc get around 200-300 fps same setting same version of windows, both with all driver up to date, (see second picture for representation of usage) this one get way better result(more like expected) but with less powerfull parts? where could the probleme be?

I have a tough time choosing between these three cards, all of them I can only find on the second hand market, and I heard they perform pretty similarly. However, here's the pros and cons of each of them For the HD 7850, what is very enticing is the price, being the cheapest of all three of them, however it does not have a warranty, unlike the other two. For the R7 370, I can buy it from a second hand store that offers a 6 month warranty on it, but it comes in as the second most expensive card. Then there's the R7 270x, which I found to be the most expensive of the bunch (almost as much as a new RX 560), but it still is in warranty until November 2020!! Considering my choices, should I just get a new 460 / 560 since I don't risk anything? Or should I go for a second hand one from the list above? I know computer stuff is more durable than it seems, and that the risk of second hand is worth it but I'm still kinda reluctant and need further assurance second hand is ok.

Hi, currently have the card mentioned above and currently have it running at 1200mhz core, 1500mhz VRAM and 1195mV according to afterburner. The card is completely stable at these speeds but im wondering if theres more to be had (more vcore, bios mods etc). Any suggestions or is this as good as im likely to get? Thanks :-)

So the time is coming around to replace my GPU again. I’d been hoping to put it off, but the constant failures of the card to perform are hinting to me that the time is now. My current system uses an Intel Core i7 3960x CPU on an Asus Sabertooth X79 board, which emulates PCI-E 3.0 for the GPU. I’ve gone through a few cards on this platform but the current card, a Sapphire R9 270x, is the one that has lasted the longest. Now, though, despite underclocking the card’s clocks and boosting the voltage, it is encountering repeated failures, kicking me out of games (and usually right when I’m in the middle of doing something). The R9 270x has been a very good card for driving 60fps 1080p gaming, even at the highest settings. While I’ve got a 4K build in the works on a new platform (Mini-ITX, too), I’d like to keep the current system going at least until then, without sacrificing too much in terms of frame rates or quality. I’m looking for recommendations here for a (relatively) inexpensive card to replace my R9 270x. Doesn’t necessarily have to be a performance upgrade, but I’d like it to be able to perform at least as well. I’ve seen good performance for the games I play out of an RX470 card and also out of a GTX1060 on friends’ systems, so that’s about where I was aiming. The question is, would I be able to get away with even less? The GTX 1050ti and the RX 560 are both very attractive options because of their price, but I’m worried as to whether they can handle 60+ FPS at 1080p with high settings in games like Overwatch and FFXIV (which is where I spend most of my time gaming). Does anyone have any advice in this regard?

NOTE: This happened even before I build my Ryzen based system, previously I had an FX6100 (see my sig) Over the past few months I've noticed that sometimes my games start with extremely low FPS, when I look in MSI Afterburner I see that my clocks are all at 150Mhz. I've already tried the following: Disable ULPS in MSI Afterburner Disable ULPS in registry Change anything in Afterburner (nothing changes except fan speed) Install drivers that are months old and newer after using DDU (tried several versions) Tried a different BIOS Tried the backup BIOS that you can activate with a switch on this card Gave the card an alcohol bath Reapply thermal paste Ran memtest86 Reinstall Windows 10 Run chkdsk Reset motherboard BIOS to default While this screenshot was taken the GPU was only 36 degrees C... I'm at a loss right now on why this is happening, it happens very randomly. Like every 2 days when launching a game. A restart ALWAYS fixes it. I have ordered an RX 580 for a really miserable price just because of this issue, still it would be nice to return the 580 because I don't really need the performance at the moment...

Hello, So as many of you may know I currently own an R7 360 2GB GPU and I have said in the past that I will upgrade to an R9 270X however... With all the GPU mining and the like there are few R9 270X's to be had on eBay but there are also quite a few 2GB versions on CeX going for £70 (One on eBay for the £80 which is very nice). So, as I was trawling through eBay like I usually do... I found a 7870 2GB version for £50. Is this worth it instead of the R9 270X or could it be a mistake down the line? Thanks - BP

So I found an R9 270X Vapor-X, that someone was selling for way below the usual pricing for Europe. I was just wondering if he had done something to it or used it for mining, but he hadn't. The stickers and cooler all look brand new.

I'm trying to overclock my R9 270x and it's stable while the gpu is above 50°C below that my second screen starts being wierd. The video is on YT https://youtu.be/MIQD112uvh4

So I saw a video on how to flash 4 gb rx 480 to 8 gb rx 480. And i'm wondering if the r9 270x could do the same with 2gb to 4gb version. Thanks in advance

So i have a r9 270x and i tried to oc the card (asudirect cu II 2gb ) and it's stock overclocked to 1120 mhz. When i run msi afterburner or amd wattman (amd built in oc utility) it shows only 1000mhz.

Ok - I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place I don't use forums very often, but I've come up with a problem that I am completely baffled by, so here it is. I know my system is old, I don't have any spare money at the moment... My RIG: MOBO: ASUS MAXIMUS IV GENE-Z CPU: i5 3570k RAM: 8GB mixed brands (slot1=8GB,slot2=4GB,slot3=empty,slot4=4GB) GPU: R9 270x Gigabyte Windforce Spare GPU: 9800GT So here is the issue: I was poking around in my BOIS to overclock my CPU (no issues there I got it to run @ 4.6GHz comfortably) and I found a reading that says my GPU is running at Native 4x or something, but it's supposed to be a 16x slot. The motherboard has 2 x 16xPCIe slots. If the R9 270x is in slot 1 (top slot) the BIOS says it is running at Native 4x If the R9 270x is in slot 2 (bottom slot) the BIOS doesn't detect it If the 9800GT is in slot 1 (top slot) the BIOS doesn't detect it If the 9800GT is in slot 2 (bottom slot) the BIOS says it is running at Native 8x (Another random test - Both Simultaneously) The R9 270x is in slot 1 (top slot) the BIOS says it is running at Native 4x The 9800GT is in slot 2 (bottom slot) the BIOS says it is running at Native 8x There is an iGPU I can use for testing. I can't understand this and unfortunately, the other motherboard I have doesn't seem to show me the PCIe's Native speed, as far as I can see, it's EXTREMELY OLD! I wouldn't have too much of an issue with maybe running my R9 270x at 8x because I don't think it would make too much of a performance difference, but I have to assume 4x is considerably slower. If anyone could enlighten me on that as well it would be appreciated.
