Hey, I've recently built a new PC and for the past few days I've been getting a ton of random freezes, hangs and crashes even when the PC is completely idle or doing very little work like pulling up the taskbar. Temperatures are completely fine, running at 26 degrees on the CPU and 25 on the motherboard in idle with them both going up to about 45 while running AIDA64's stresstest. My parts are: AMD R5 1600 with a Coolermaster Hyper TX3 Evo running at stock speed ASRock AB350M Pro4, running the latest BIOS available, but I tried earlier ones too and they've been just as unstable 8GB of Crucial Ballistix Sport LT rated at 2666 Mhz Gainward GTX 750 And powered by a Corsair VS550 PSU Is my board just junk or what else could this be.

I'm having an issue my Overclock, I was here a few days ago asking why my PC switches off then on again whenever I boot, I'm passed that now. Whenever I OC, it'll get past BIOS and Display the Asus logo but nothing happens (this is where the spinny circle shows up for Windows loading) and I have to do a cold shutdown on it, however, if I then start it up again it'll load just fine (how I'm here now still running at the OC settings), I've stressed the CPU in Prime95 and it seems to be okay, no real instabilities are showing themselves. Any ideas as to why this happening? Thanks

So lately my pc has been randomly freezing and games crashing. I need some help figuring out what's wrong and what I should do. My specs: AMD fx-8350, MSI 970 gaming mobo, MSI 1080 ti 4gb, seagate 2tb hdd, kingston 240gb ssd. cooler master hyper 212 evo, and evga 700 bronze 50+. Its not overheating and it randomly freezes. The keyboard and mouse are fairly new. I verified the files, uninstalled and reinstalled. I don't know what is happening. I have looked online for a problem fix but I could not find anything. It gets all wobbly right before it freezes. It says bad module info has stopped working. Occasionally it freezes while just on desktop and i have to restart it to be able to use it. Thanks, -Me

Here hoping for some help from the great and faceless internet crowd, so here's my problem: Two days ago my year old build froze during basic web surfing. After a few restart attempts with no video signal I tried switch to the integrated GPU and found out that the computer was actually booting just fine but not detecting the RX 480 (neither in bois nor in windows). So I tried clearing cmos, reflashing MB's bios, reinstalling the RX 480 into the second PCIE, and using other power connectors on it to no avail (the led lights always lighted up but not much else). Finally, I tried replacing the RX with my old Asus Radeon HD6850 and it worked fine, i even did a few stress test and everything went well. So I RMA'd the RX 480 today and was ready to wait for the retailer to get back to me. Buuut then I come back from work today only to find my PC (currently with the HD6850 in it) frozen. After a few restarts I found out that the computer would freeze (with sound continuing working fine but a frozen screen and no input reaction) after a short and random period of time, like 1-5 min, even in bios which I reset to default settings just in case. Those freezes persisted until I removed the HD 6850 and switched back to the internal GPU, then it became completely stable again. So, my question is, do you think that my original assessment that the RX 480 was faulty is wrong and maybe the problems originated from a faulty PSU or motherboard/PCIE slot, rather than the GPU? I have been getting random freezes on my computer ever since I built my new computer. Computer freezes totally and only way that it can be turned off is by holding the power button for couple seconds. I narrowed the problem down to Ramcache II software which comes with Asus Rog motherboard. I turned off ramcache for a month and the computer stopped freezing completely and then I turned it back on and it has now crashed every single day since. I ran memtest and it says that my memory is working fine, so could this problem be SSD related or should I use some other software for ram caching? I have tried allocating 2048MB and 4096MB on ram cache, but it crashed with both settings. I really want to use ram caching since it speeds up significantly many programs that I use. Hello, I am here because I am having issues with the computer I built myself and its freezing at random times even when just browsing on the internet when its not even using big programs. When it freezes the computer stays on what you were seeing, for example if I am on Youtube and it freezes its like taking a screenshot of your computer and putting it on full-screen it will not do anything, no sound, no ctrl + alt + del, no nothing all I can do is force shut down and restart it (the same when playing games its simply random). I have yet to figure out if its a software or hardware problem I have tried a lot of windows fixes. My pc- (Windows 10) AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six-Core Processor Corsair Vengance Pro 16gb (2x8gb) DDR3 2133 MHz (PC3 17000) Desktop 1.5V XFX Radeon RX 470 RS 4GB GDDR5 true oc 1256MHZ Black edition graphic card MSI Extreme Gaming AMD 970 AM3+ DDR3 usb 3.1 ATX motherboard (970A Gaming Pro Carbon) Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - 120mm PWM fan (RR-212E-20PK-R2) Seagate 2TB BarraCuda SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5-Inch Internal Hard Drive (ST2000DM006) Thank you.

Trying to finish validating the overclock on my i7 8700K. Got the temps where I want, got it up to 4.5Ghz at 1.2V, and I've done some short stress tests and it does fine except that it will have small stutters/freezes every 5-10 minutes (2-3 second stutters). My question is: is this something to worry about/lower the speed or voltage for, or is it normal and I'm ok to run my longer stress tests? Any advice on my next validation steps would be appreciated. Also, I've heard you should set your voltage to "adaptive mode" after validating an overclock, does this just mean change the setting from manual back to auto? Thanks and Happy New Year!

Hi ! I posted this already on another forum and i still have no reply. I've been encountering this issue ever since i installed my new GPU (gtx 1060 6gb). Basically, I used to have a gtx 950, my siege game would run at 45-60 fps but it would feel like it's stuttering, HOWEVER, i could have google chrome open on my second monitor with youtube or netflix open and that would not impact my FPS at all. When i bought my new GPU, i uninstalled the drivers, put in my new GPU and installed new drivers. The video usually freezes up and the audio starts to stutter, my FPS stays at 45, if i turn off google chrome (i tried microsoft edge but same thing happens) and my fps goes up to 80+ however it still looks like the game is stuttering, its like very choppy. However, I tried the new wolfenstein on max settings and a video open on my second screen and everything worked fine. The game having low FPS + second screen freezing occurs only when im playing rainbow six siege. Sometimes even discord disconnects me from a channel / call or starts to cut out my voice in discord for no reason at all. These issues started occurring ever since i have my new GPU. CPU usage is normally at 70-100% when i play and with chrome it stays at 100.The game sometimes is stuttering for no reason as well. Anyway, things i tried already are : Uninstalling drivers + installing older ones Resetting my windows (Not keeping any files however i pressed the option where it said that if i'm keeping the PC to press that option) Changing Game settings Contacting other people about this Turning off hardware acceleration in google chrome advanced options. Specs : CPU: I5 7600K GPU: GTX 1060 6GB RAM: 8GB DDR 4 2133Mhz PSU: 750 Watts MOBO: asrock fatality z270 gaming k4 At this point i am down for any suggestions.

Hei guys, for a few months now i've been having a lot of problems with cpu spikes, freezes and software crashes. It happens more often when playing videogames than in "low load"-scenarios. The cpu usage spikes for about 1.5 Seconds according to Taskmanager, causes a ~10 second freeze and crashes some but not all software. timespan between crashes varies heavily, the computer itself never crashed. I did not notice any relations to RAM or HDD usage while watching Taskmanager. Cpu temps were between 32°C/89.6°F and ~60°C/140°F. Specs: OS: Windows 10 (64x) Mainboard: ASUS M5A78L-M LX3 (BIOS version 1201 Processor: AMD-FX4300 4x3.8GHz (stock fan) RAM: 4GB with 1600MHz + 8GB 1866MHz Graphicscard: GIGABYTE Radeon RX 460 OC 4GB HDD1+2: 2 Seagate 500GB HDD 7.200rpm (1 boot and software drive + 1 drive for Steam) HDD3: 1 Western Digital 500GB HDD 5.400rpm (storage drive) Powersupply: 420W I'm hoping you guys can help me, thanks a lot in advance!:) attached: More detailled hardware informations Hardware.txt

First my specs: CPU: Intel i7 8700K Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z370-F GPU: Asus STRIX GTX1080 TI RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR4 3200mhz PSU: Corsair AX1200W SSD: Corsair Force Series LS 240GB HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB + 2TB CPU Cooler: Corsair H110i water cooler OS: Windows 10 64 bit Backstory: Ok, so I just got my brand new GTX1080TI, i7 8700k, Z370 board and DDR4 RAM, and was super pumped to get this installed in my computer. I hooked the parts up, fired up the computer and everything worked fine. When I checked out the BIOS, Asus had this built in overclocking app, and it recommended that I let it turn up the computer considering my specs. I was going to try and overclock anyways, so I thought why not try this first, and enabled it. Later on i found out that the app turned my cpu to a whopping 5ghz, and thermal throttling must have been the reason I didn't get that great fps while I was gaming (PUBG). So I turned off the overclocking app to restore my settings back to normal. Just to check that all was good, I decided to try a round of Prime95. After I started it, I went into BSOD hell. My computer wouldn't boot, and I got many types of Blue Screen errors: WHEA UNCORRECTABLE ERROR, CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT and KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (in order, i got WHEA most often). So I thought, oh it must be because the overclock somehow set itself to some crazy values. But after resetting the BIOS and CMOS, my computer still wouldn't boot or not-freeze for longer than some minutes. Getting worried for my CPU, I just had time to run the the Intel Diagnostics Tool before the computer froze, and it turned out all-green. The next thing I did was to fresh install windows because I haven't done it yet, even after chaning motherboard and CPU. So I copied my files from my SSD, formatted it on another computer and made a bootable installation USB drive from a windows 10 ISO image. But now that I was going to install windows 10, the installer freezes even though I have unplugged every other disk except the SSD and the USB-drive. Now I do not what to do. Can you guys please help me? In summary what is wrong: After major changes to my hardware, I got a lot of bluescreens on my computer after launching prime 95. Sometimes I got the bluescreens before the login menu, sometimes 10min+ after I logged in. Sometimes I got bluescreens, sometimes it only freezes. Now I have uninstalled windows from my computer and the installer freezes when I try to reinstall it from a USB drive, even though nothing is plugged into my computer (no GPU, no extra drives, no USB devices) What I have tried, before and after uninstalling windows: - Updating the BIOS - Udating Chipset drivers - Updating SATA drivers - Resetting BIOS and CMOS (Even tried taking out the battery. The clock in the BIOS does not reset though, why is that?) - Unplugging everything from the computer (GPU, USBs and drives) - Physical check of the hardware - Make sure the CPU cooler is installed correctly and running - Checking CPU voltage and temps - Increasing CPU voltage - Booting in safe mode and checking device manager for bad drivers And probably some more during the 10+ hours I have been trying to fix this. I really hope you guys might know what is wrong, I'm getting desperate. Update: I managed to install windows to my SSD. I got all the way to the menu where you first select language and region, but then it froze and I got the WHEA UNCORRECTABLE ERROR bsod. When I tried to start it up again, I got a blue screen again, this time saying DRIVER IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL. The problem persists...

My PC will randomly just freeze up, as in freeze my display freezes, I can still hear my video games still being played but I can move my mouse. It's been doing this for a little bit now and its kinda annoying me at this point. This picture shows my PC Specs and I also have a GTX Geforce 1070. If anyone could help me with this I would appreciate it. Thanks, Noah

Hi Everyone, I've been having these issues on and off for around a year now and I've become tiresome of the issue now. In most games (but more frequently in TF2) I get a weird glitch where the games visuals and audio freezes up. From what I can see in the overlays, this isn't a framerate issue as I had a GTX 970, then upgraded to a GTX 1080. In all the games I get a 60FPS+ stable framerate but suddenly the audio has around a 1ms audio loop and the visuals freeze. This lasts for around a second. I've done basic troubleshooting such as killing all necessary applications whilst the game's running, I've also had resource monitor, task manager and MSI Afterburner to see if something is draining my resources which nothing is. I have performed several fresh installs on this PC (Windows 8.1 and Windows 10) and neither have seemed to fix this issue. My PC specs: CPU: i7 3770 @ 3.40GHz RAM: 16GB DDR3 GPU: GTX 1080 Founders Edition Boot Drive: 250GB SSD Gaming Drive: 4TB WD Green Drive (5400RPM) Motherboard: MSI B75MA-P45 Sound Card: Sound Blaster Audigy Fx OS: Windows 10 Home 64bit

Hi, I have problem with my PC lately. My HDD is in still use, almost always 100%. Before that started, one of my games was loading very fast, but now it loads 30-50 seconds later than before. Except that, I have a few freezes (0,5s-2s) even when browsing internet and watching Youtube. Actually I think my PC is about 50% slower. I don't know what's going on, all of my drivers are up to date, I use MSI Live Update 6 to check this. I tried HDD defrag and it didn't help. I'm gonna leave some screenchots of my HDD tests. http://imgur.com/a/JIRUH My PC: MD FX-8350, MSI 970 Gaming Motherboard, MSI R9 390, HyperX 8gb RAM, HDD: WD Green (WD10EZRX-00A8LB0), PSU: XFX 750W Pro, Win 10 64x, Zalman Z1 Neo Case, Slientium PC Grandis Cooler

I've been experiencing hitches in Netflix where it makes my cursor or computer in general lag during playback, but no other video player does this. Does anyone else have this problem and if so did you fix it, and how did you. I have tried clearing cookies and a few other things last month but none of them fixed this problem. Thank you if you can help.

Hi there! Over the course of the past two weeks my computer has been continuesly crashing, it started off as just BSOD, but I haven't gotten a BSOD in the past week so I wont go into detail with that, unless someone asks for it. I experience 3 types of crashes, two of which I'd catagorize as freezeing: The crash is where the screen goes black and all my peripherals ligts turn off, but the computer is still running. The first kind of freeze is where the screen just straight up freezes and nothing responds. The second type of freeze is where all colours on screen gets stretched out and everything freezes. For a example look at the attatched picture. All of these crashes/freezes require me to force shutdown the computer myself. They happen at random momments and have no specific panterns, for example it has crashed both in Google Chrome and in Rainbow Six Siege. I hope someone can help me, let me know if there is more I need to add here. So I just build my new rig a few weeks ago and I finally managed to upgrade to Windows 10 after some chats with Microsoft, but let's put that aside for now. My new problem is that sometimes the screen just turns completely green and I can't do anything, no ALT+TAB or CTRL+ALT+DELETE. I can still hear my sound for like 3 seconds and then that also stops. It has only happend when I was playing League of Legends for at least a few minutes, for now. All my drivers are up to date and it also had happend a few times while I was still playing on Windows 8.1 if i remember correctly, so I don't think it's OS related. Please share your thoughts, I'll try anything. And also sorry if I posted it in the wrong section, I just have no clue what's happening My specs: GPU: Sapphire NITRO R9 380X CPU: I5-6600K Mobo: Asus Z170 Pro Gaming RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000MHz 16GB SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 500GB PSU: EVGA SuperNova GS 650W

Computer Freezes and Beeps When I Use The Mouse
The Red Dead Pixel posted a topic in Troubleshooting
Hello First time poster here. I built my first rig last summer and it went well (except forgetting to screw my motherboard in), everything worked. Few months later my computer starts acting weird, turns out one of the RAM slots on my motherboard was broken, I did not want to send it to the pc parts store since that would've taken a long time so I just used the other 2 RAM slots instead (1 & 3). Everything worked fine after that. Now recently my PC has been freezing but I can still use the keyboard and the mouse moves but doesn't do anything and it moves with much lag. I guess that's no really freezing but whatever. There are also beeps that come from my headset. They beep when ever I move my mouse or click anything. I have to shut down the PC with the power button. (English is not my first language, sorry for the weird wording). Now I have noticed a pattern. It usually happens when I plug or unplug USB devices. I have updated my BIOS and use Driver Booster 3 to keep my drivers up to date. The freezes can happen up to 2 times a day or not at all. Can somebody please help me. Intel Core i5 6600K ASUSTeK Z170-K 8GB DDR4 GTX 970 Thanks in advance
