Just need some help for connecting a few things around. I have my PC, a Razer Seiren Mini and a DSLR Canon camera (loan from school) For a Media class, I need to make a video that shows me using an animation software with voiceover, but it will also cut to my face with voiceover. The camera has a HDMI port and a Micro USB port, so I was wondering if I can connect the Razer Seiren Mini via a Micro USB to Micro USB to the Camera and the camera to the PC, and hopefully everything will work. If not, is there any way I can do it? Its also worth noting I do not have a Capture Card. Cheers

Hello! I am looking to get a new/used camera setup, my main problem is - I am not sure on what to get. I’ve been going back and forth between DSLR’s something like a Canon 70d (definetely heard its overkill for something simple I want to do) or a Canon GL2 (although I’ve read you need to use tapes for video and it’d be easier to make it tapeless) but I don’t want to go through that hassle. I want something simple not too crazy expensive (400-900 budget), 1080p60fps, a changeable lens as I would like to buy a fisheye for it and that would record video to a SD card. So PLEASE if you know a suitable camera/body, share your knowledge as I can’t decide.

Summary In an interview with Japanese newspaper Yomiuri Shimbun, Canon's chairman & CEO Fujio Mitarai stated that the company's development and production of flagship DSLRs will wound down "within a few years." Canon's current DSLR flagship, the EOS-1DX Mark III released in 2020, will be the last flagship DSLR model. Quotes There were some news publications like Y.M. Cinema and Photo Rumors interpreted Mitarai's words to mean that Canon has officially announced the end of all of their DSLR lines. Canon has responded that the scope of Mitarai's statement is only for their flagship DSLRs. It is expected that all production of their flagship DSLR to stop within a few years, although exact dates have not been confirmed. My thoughts This is very interesting now that Canon will officially move development and production towards mirrorless systems. It was known that mirrorless would take over and that the DSLR would die sometime. I'm excited for the future to see what new mirrorless systems Canon will come out with. Sources Y.M. Cannon Launches the next gen full frame RF cameras, R5 and R6 the R5 does 8k raw and 4k 120, 45mp sensor 3900$ R6 does 4k60, 20mp sensor 2500$ both have IBIS, digic X processor, output 4k 60 4:2:2 10 bit, can focus at F22 with lenses R5 has issues recording for long periods of time due to heat RF lenses 85mm F2 macro 500g 5 stop IS stm motor 600$ 100-500mm F4.-7.1 1.35kg expands during zooms and only works with teleconverters over 300mm 5 stops of IS dual nano AF 2700$ 600mm F11 telli fixed f11 950g 5 stops of IS expands before shooting STM motor 700$ 800mm F11 telli fixed f11 1.2kg 4 stops of IS expands before shooting STM motor 900$ RF teleconverters 1.4x 500$ 2.0x 600$ My thoughts the r5 is a 5D mkIV replacement but I doubt the headline 8k video will get much use given in raw its 2600mb/s filling up a 512gb CF card in 20 mins which is also how long it takes the camera to overheat. the R6 is the better buy for video especially with an external recorder 85mm macros are nice, so far looks to be a good lens. it is cheaper than the L f1.2 85mm macro or 100mm L macro 100-500mm: I don't like non fixed aperture zooms but its a long zoom 600,800 the fixed aperture and expandable nature almost make these feel like spotting scopes, not a big fan of STM motors but not bad. teleconverters are useful and are a needed add-on Sources https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/explore/product-showcases/cameras-and-lenses/eos-r5 https://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canon-eos-r6-initial-review https://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canon-eos-r5-initial-review https://www.dpreview.com/articles/9552347046/hands-on-with-canon-s-new-rf85mm-f2-macro-is-stm https://www.dpreview.com/articles/3349669626/hands-on-with-new-canon-rf-100-500mm-600mm-and-800mm-telephoto-lenses

Hello, For days now I have been searching how to use my Nikon D5100 as a webcam since I want to start giving online courses. I could use my computers webcam, but it seems such a waste not to go for a much higher quality and use my DSLR. I have bought a HDMI cable to connect the camera to the Mac, and have installed Screenflow as the video tool. However, the Mac does not seem to find or recognize the signal from my camera. I am now at a loss ... Do I need another device between the camera and the Mac, or another video tool, or something else ...? Thanks in advance for some help and some advice! And greetings from Belgium Anne

I'm a cheap college student and would like to use my Canon T3i that I already own as a webcam for Skype calls (yeah yeah I know Skype's a shit platform but I don't really have a choice and I already own the camera). There is another thread, DSLR Camera Software, that asked a similar question and the people commenting on that gave me the same info a quick google search would give me. I also don't want to use a hardware solution because it will take too long to be delivered and it costs money. So far I have tried: EOS Utility Tool - just a live previewer Canon Photo Professional - current version doesn't work with my camera (or I didn't get it to work) DigiCamControl - just a live previewer Sparkocam - Worked great but had a big ass watermark, and not one of those ignore-able water marks, like top middle of the screen all the way across water marks Is there any free software out there that isn't listed above that turns my Canon into a webcam?

I am planning to get a beginner DSLR for allround photo shooting, thats why I was wondering which one I should buy! I want to spend around 300€, but can stretch to abour 400 if necessary. I did some googling and watched some videos on beginner cameras, thats why I put the Nikon B600 as the cheapest and EOS 2000d as a slightly more expensive option. Do you guys have any other recommendations?

I have recently gotten into streaming, I use OBS Studio and a Canon EOS 750D DSLR camera for a webcam, I have learned how to use the EOS utility software for a window preview that is then used for OBS as a webcam (Connected via USB), the problem is, you have to keep the preview tab open at all times (1920x1280) which gives me a big amount of lag spikes in any game, I have very capable hardware yet it is still an issue, (I ran the games without the preview on and I get a smooth gameplay.) Is there any way to use the camera as an actual webcam input?

Aside from showcasing phones, TVs, sensors, automated driving and other bits of tech, CES also seems to be a hot place for the launch of some new camera equipment. And it seems that the crowd-pleaser is the launch of the EOS-1DX Mark III, Canon's latest entry in the EOS 1-D line of flagship professional-oriented sports camera, aimed at photojournalists, sports and wildlife photographers. EOS-1DX Mark III There are some other big launches as well, notably Nikon's new D780 DSLR, an update to the brilliant-but-aging D750. Nikon D780 Aside from all the big guns, there were some other small announcements, which include but are not limited to; The unveiling of a physical Nikon D6 body but without any other information aside from that. The Nikon Coolpix P950 ultrasuperzoom bridge camera, now with 4K recording, an improved EVF and support for RAW files. The Nikkor Z 70-200 f/2.8S lens launch for $2600 and shipping in February alongside a Nikkor 120-300 F-Mount lens for $9500. Canon confirming that no new EF lenses are in development, with all new lenses being for RF "unless there is demand". Source(s); Opinion time;

So I'm looking to upgrade my camera that I use for streaming, because unfortunately my C910 that I bought for 4.00 at a Goodwill is starting to stutter and freeze, and eventually just stop working at first I thought it was with Streamlabs but I tried it other places and it just kind of slowly started dying out on me. I have a few prospect webcams in mind, like the Razer Kiyo, or the C920 but I had also considered getting like a DSLR camera and a tripod to use as my main streaming camera like I have seen a few people do, but my question first is what are the pros and cons of one VS the other, and the other question is what would you recommend that provides the most bang for the buck? I'd like to keep under 200.00 as I want something quality, perhaps that also works well with Streamlabs Chroma Key effect for use with a green screen.

Hi everyone I wanted a intervalometer ,but I don’t have money ,so I after watching a few tutorials I found this app : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.dslrremote&showAllReviews=true http://bitshift.bplaced.net/en/dslr-remote.htm I found lying around in my house a 3.5mm cable to 2.5 mm. it works!!! but when I use the time-lapse it shots two pictures instead of one. The theory that I have: My cellphone outputs to much energy or signal .o for a longer period of time forcing the camara to shoot twice. I have a Moto G5 but I tried whit several older phones and it didn’t work. I think this is the solution: http://bitshift.bplaced.net/en/dslr-remote/hardware/cable-a---opto-couplers.htm but I don’t have any soldering knowledge and I don’t know if I can buy that in my city. If anyone knows how to solve this let me now.

Greetings people of LTT, I was wondering whether my Canon 1300D DSRL are capable of producing clean HDMI? I understands that it doesn't supports 720p60fps nor 1080p30fps but hey, atleast I can settle with 72030fps with a synchronized output. So, I kinda want to know whether is those findings I found is legit before I went out looking and purchasing hardwares (HDMI cable & dummy battery pack).

Hi all! I have a question for all the people that are much smarter than me - if you have any knowledge that would be much appreciated! I have just ordered a new camera, and would like to start some amateur videography. I have a RODE NT-USB Microphone (which is significantly better than the built-in mic) which I would like to hook up with the new camera, however the camera has an audio-in 3.5mm jack, and my microphone I want to use has a USB plug. Can I buy a cheap & easy "USB to 3.5 Audio Jack" adaptor thingy and that'll work? Or will I need another microphone? Thanks in advance for any advice! - Lucas. P.S Sorry in advance if this subject is in the wrong area on the forum, this is a first time using this site haha!

Hey everyone, I was wondering which DSLR cameras can be connected through USB and have a mode, where you can get the "preview" video through that. I have the Sony SLT a57, and you can sort of do it, but you have to go through a HDMI recording hardware for it to work, like the worthless, slow and delayed one I have, the Hauppauge HD Personal Video Recorder 2, which isn't realistic... because I have to do loads of syncing, and the delay on that thing is at least 5 seconds, which is hardcoded, because having a passthrough sending the raw footage wasn't a thought that they had, or that it was something people would like to have for some reason... And going back to the "you can sort of do it", not only is it so dependent on that recording hardware, through the HDMI, it sends ALL of the clutter, like the focus point(s) in the middle, and all of the clutter around the "preview" is included, so it's just cloning what you see on the LCD screen... So, what I'm asking is if there's anyone here that can help me compile a list of DSLR cameras that can send only their preview through USB, has the "rapidfire" mode where you can take loads of pics in a second and has the same fitting for the addon lenses as the SLT a57 has, so I don't have to buy those expensive things again, I have the Sony N50 55mm and the Tamron SP 70-300mm. So why do I want a DSLR, and not the video equivalence, is because I take loads of pics at various racing/car show events, so if I can get more out of the camera, it would be better, because as it is now, the SLT a57 can ONLY take pictures, or record a video, but that's it. And to save you time on your comment, yes, this is absolutely a thing that you can do, I just don't know what DSLRs support the USB passthrough, and have the rapidfire and the same "fitting" if-you-will, that the SLT a57 has, and no, I have no idea if everyone has the same "fitting", or different ones. So, I'm reaching out here because I wanna learn, as much as I would like to use a DSLR as a "webcam" to increase the quality on my streams/videos.

Best Camera for VideoMaking
RainingBrainzHDSchoolAcont posted a topic in Photography and Videography
Hello! I was wondering what are some of my options for creating Marques Brownlee and Austin Evan style videos on Youtube. I am okay with pre-owned camera and audio hardware. My budget is under 300$, preferably for both pieces of equipment combined, but more money can be allocated for a decent microphone. I live in Houston Texas, so US prices are acceptable.- 4 replies

The widely discussed hot topic DSLR vs Mirrorless Camera?? But with a new turn - in consideration with videography - which is better and that too 4k at 60fps video. And to make the matters worse let us compare finely in the budget to middle tier upto $850. So, guys lets find out via discussion which one holds the crown. ? Ultimately I gave to buy it so simply lets find out who delivers the best performance at the best price point.
