Let's say that we have the following monitors: A: 75 Hz, 1 - 2 ms B: 120 Hz, 10 - 12 ms Would monitor A look and feel better than monitor B due to its lower response time?

The Lenovo P500 supports both the E5-1660-v3 and the E5-1660-v4, the E5-1660-v3 is overclockable however the E5-1660-v4 has slightly higher base clocks and runs on a much smaller lithography (14 nm compared to the E5-1660-v3's 22 nm) which I heard can help reduce power draw and heat generated (which I figured may decrease throttling), both are 8 cores and have the same TDP, so theoretically, which CPU would be most ideal for a Gaming/Developing system?

A couple days ago I was watching my cousin play a game at 1440p in a 4k TV, I swear to god we couldn't tell a noticeable difference between that and native. Truth be told, It was a 4K 55" TV standing like 10 ft from us, but our opinion on sharpness didn't change when temporarily looking at it from 5 ft. So I'm confused... why did it look sharp if the 4K TV was displaying 1440p ???

I am buying a new laptop and there are two chips one with the 80HX and the other with the 50HX CPU is there going to be that much of a difference that a gamer might notice. I could all ways upgrade the ram later. Should I spend the extra money.

Currently deciding between getting a 5700 XT or some Nvidia card I haven't considered yet. I'm not too well versed in Nvidia cards so I need assistance comparing the 5700 XT to other cards in its price range. The 5700 XT I have my eye on is right at $400USD, which is at the same mark as the RTX 2060 Super. So, I would assume that the 2060 Super and 5700 XT have similar performance since they are sitting in a similar price bracket? Idk, feel free to correct me. I was also looking at the performance of the 2070 Super, but at over $100 more than the 5700 XT and 2060 Super, I'm hesitant to look at it twice unless anyone here thinks it's worth it. Overall, I'm looking for the best card for anywhere around $400-$450. Thanks

Saw an add for these and thought I'd check it out. Very interesting I thought. Looks like just an additional SKU and manufacturer but thought I'd ask the forums thoughts. Could also make an interesting video on the channel checking these out. On amazon as well and supposedly are "medical grade" whatever that means. https://monitors.com/collections/graphic-cards https://www.amazon.com/Barco-MXRT-7600-Quad-Graphic-K9306044/dp/B075FYSFHW

Trying to decide between the Asrock B450 Steel Legend and the Asus TUF B450 Pro Gaming. Both boards have 4 dimm slots, 2 M.2 Slots, and a USB-C port on them, but I'm more concerned about power delivery for the two and don't know how to go about comparing said aspects of each board. Thanks

Hello, Good day. Someone is offering me to change my i7 6700 for his i7 5820k ( with the mother board X99 G1 WIFI ) my actual pc specs are: (for 60fps 1080, i dont need more than that) i7 6700 (NON K, the normal one) GTX 1070 ASUS Dual 32gb 2133 Mhz G-SKILL psu 850 evga bronce 2 hdd 3tb ( for games and stuff) ssd 240gb (for OS and some heavy games like wow that takes ages to load) Mother board Gigabyte z170x gaming 3 rev 1.1 the point is that i have 3 monitors and i like to multitask often, like watch some videos, listen to spottify , have Whatsapp web opened and chat with people SOMETIMES(VERY rare i stream), i do these things atleast 2 at the same time all the time, the games i play more oftenly are: borderlands 3 apex legends world of warcraft genshin impact ghost recon wild lands and i want to play CP 2077 i often struggle because my CPU just gets to 100% and pc starts to struggle and gpu isn't even at 100% usage so, which cpu would pair better for my kind of usage and the gpu i have. I currently have a Wraith Max cooling my R5 3600, I've been using it for almost a year and have had no problems with it. However, I'm a bit disappointed by the RGB. It's just these two solid rings around the outside of the fan radius that change color in a specified order. I've been looking at builds online and saw someone using a Wraith Prism, which had RGB that I always kinda wanted in my build. To be honest, this whole time I thought the prism and max were the same cooler and I just couldn't use all of the RGB because I don't have RGB headers on my board, only the USB2 one that can be used. So, once I realized that it's a totally different cooler with better RGB, I sorta started wanting one. Is it worth it to switch coolers just for the RGB? Does the Prism perform roughly the same as the Max? I'd like some input. Thanks.

I am selling my old computer and heading off to college soon and can not decide if I should build a small computer in a case like the Velkase Velka 3 or something of that type or if I should buy a gaming laptop. I am leaning towards a desktop in order to build it around an AMD platform and be able to swap out components but laptops are also very portable. Help?

I'm not switching... I'm keeping both. Premiere Pro for me and DaVinci for my brother. Just one question... what's the difference? Along with the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 4K, inside the box includes a free product activation key for DaVinci. I've been a Premiere Pro user for years and I'm curious to know what differences it makes for the editing experience overall. I know that DaVinci is a little heavy on performance so my specifications are updated on my profile in case you need it. - The user interface at first glance seems very friendly compared to Premiere. - Color grading is a breeze on DaVinci. - Uses a little more GPU, RAM, etc. - You only have to pay one-time only... I think. So is DaVinci worth it? Anything else to add to these points would be bliss. Thanks guys!

I'm having trouble deciding if the 2070S is worth the $100 extra over the 5700xt. I've been doing as much research as I can and I've found that the 5700xt is really close to the 2070S in terms of fps but it's a whole $100 cheaper. I'm wondering if the extra $100 is worth the approximate 10% better performance, rtx support, and dlss. Also I've heard that the 5700xt is really buggy and/or crashes a lot, does this still happen?

I want to preface this by saying I don't want to build a PC. I want to buy it, I want it to arrive in one piece, and I want to use it. Upgrading Parts down the line isnt out of the question, but onto the actual post. Hey guys, so, I've never owned an actual PC, just my standard laptop for schoolwork-- and I've been looking to buy a PC to play games with my friends. I decided to teach myself some stuff so I began watching a bunch of YouTubers and came to the conclusion that NZXT's PC builder was a great place tp start. I began configuring away, and came up with a PC that was roughly $1700 USD, with an extra $500 USD or so added for two monitors (I would like to begin streaming/making YouTube Videos aswell) You can find that here: My NZXT Build I showed my friends because, as far as I knew, they had more knowledge than me, and it was basically shut down by them saying it's a waste of money. They said that instead, I should buy this Cyberpower Prebuilt from Amazon. Now, I looked and, with my minimal knowledge, I'm pretty sure the face value specs of the one they suggested are better (Better Processor and GPU), HOWEVER, I've watched some reviews of Cyberpower and it seems like they are lacking in some areas, for example one saod that the Motherboard is like the absolute Beginner Budget Motherboard, and the fans were all set incorrectly, and the were all exhaust. I've asked this in other places, but I'm just truly lost and want to get the widest possible range of answers to help me figure this out. So, I dont know, I still feel pretty new and uninformed, to the extent I don't know which I should do. Any help would be fantastic! Thanks in advance!

Hello LTT Comunnity, So basically I need to replace my laptop's (HP Omen 17-T) internal boot drive which is a SanDisk 128GB M.2 drive (see below) with a new compatible M.2 drive. I've been looking at the Crucial MX300 525GB M.2 (see below) but I need to know that my laptop will accept the new drive. I don't see why it wouldn't but I need reassurance before I drop the money to upgrade, if it isn't compatible can you provide a suitable replacement since I need a replacement ASAP. Preferably something in the 500GB range. 128GB Boot Drive - https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-SD6SN1M-128G-1006-725333-001-22x80mm-Notebook/dp/B00S0O6BJ2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1489549958&sr=8-1&keywords=SanDisk+SD8SNAT-128G-1006 Crucial MX300 525GB M.2 - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01L80DH4G/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=L5G0360HJ9HJ&coliid=I27DC51P7UZG1E&psc=1 Thanks, -DCN

These keyboards both cost a similar amount to buy new also the 910 has a lot of extras. I don't mind either of the switches which one is the better idea? The G910 is used with the cylinder keycaps and full size palm rest. ($120 Canadian dollars) The K65 RGB uses speed switches and is new in box ($150 Canadian dollars) Please note the Canadian dollar is about 35% weaker than the US dollar. Meaning G910 is around 80 USD and the K65 it around 100 USD

Hey all, I've been on a Ryzen kick today for whatever reason, and there was one thing I couldn't find on the internet about Ryzen. That is, what are the Intel equivalents of Ryzen CPUs in terms of performance? I was looking to buy a 7600k for an upcoming build of mine, but now that details on Ryzen have come out, I'm thinking of switching. However, I'm not sure how the 1600x-1800x stack up against Kaby Lake. So, if anyone knows what the Intel equivalents of Ryzen CPUs in terms of performance are, let me know. Thanks. Oh, and if there isn't enough data out in the wild yet to be able to determine so, then that would also be good to know.

TL:DR: Download one or more of these archives. Listen to the different songs. Pick which one out of A, B and C you think sounds the best. One is 160Kbps Vorbis. One is 320Kbps Vorbis. One is FLAC (around 1000Kbps). Download links at the bottom. Why? A few years ago I made a comparison between AAC, Vorbis and FLAC. It was pretty fun but not really anything scientific. I used lots of different codecs and at different settings. I've decided to redo the test but with more songs, a wider range of songs, and now only two different codecs. FLAC and Vorbis. The reason why I chose those two, and the reason why I chose those bitrates is because of Spotify. They recently announced "Spotify Hi-Fi" which costs 5 dollars more each month, but lets you stream lossless audio. The regular Spotify subscription has three different qualities. 96Kbps The normal quality setting on mobile. 160Kbps Standard quality for the desktop and web player. High quality setting on mobile. 320Kbps (this requires Spotify Premium) High quality setting on desktop. Extreme quality setting on mobile. So I thought I'd be interesting to see if the people on the forum can hear the difference between the free 160Kbps, the premium 320Kbps or this new Hi-Fi lossless settings. So the test... Here is what I have done: 1) Picked out 40 different songs from my collection of lossless music. 2) Cut out a 30 second portion of each song. 3) Added a fade in and fade out effect which each lasts 2 seconds. Just to make it less jarring when listening. 4) Made three separate version of each song. Two with Vorbis with a target bitrate of 160 and 320 Kbps, and one kept in the original lossless quality. 5) Converted all of them back to FLAC so that you can't just look at the file format. I also used different compression settings so that you can't just look at the file size. So the result are three identical looking files for each song. One named A, one B and one C. One of them contains ~160Kbps Vorbis audio. One contains ~320Kbps Vorbis audio, and one contains ~1000Kbps FLAC audio. The challenge is to figure out which one is which. Please bear in mind that the naming does not change between songs. All songs that ends with A has the same encoding settings. All songs that ends with B has the same. All songs that ends with C is the same. Download links: Here is the download link for the answers. The file is password protected though because I don't want people cheating. I will release the password at some point in time. Each one of these download links contains 6 different songs (except the last one which only has 4). 800 - Aimee - Ayumi - Bella - Cocola - Colleen Continent - Daisy - Dance - Death - Elizabeth - Eru Ginger - Green - Horo - Illya - Iselin - Jenkees Joanne - Kumin - Kuuko - Lotte - Lucy - Maggie Maria - Merica - Misaka - One - PenPen - Rem Sahono - Sayaka - Suffle - Silica - Stefani - Sun Tony - Uiharu - Yui - Yuri I also want to apologize in advance for my music taste. I'm trying to decide on a GPU upgrade. Originally I was going to find a cheap 1060 6GB card, but then I thought maybe AMD would have something good it the £200-£300 price range. A bit of searching on PC Part Picker yielded these 4 cards, the two best rated for 1060 6GB and RX 480 in the list. I'd like to know a bit more about how well they run and which one people recommend. I'm no expert on AMD stuff so this would also be a good opportunity to learn more about them. Thanks for any help.

I was thinking about upgrading the SSD in my laptop recently, currently it's a SM951 256GB. I am almost running out of space. I am considering upgrading to a 500GB M.2 drive. So I did some researching on the internet, but it only confuse me more that it help. There is so many bench mark and each one will have a different result from another. I normally play games with my computer and it's going to be my boot drive, I want some fast loading time. I will also do some light video editing from time to time. I don't really have a budget, but I don't want to spent more than $300 unless the cost can be justifies with performance gain. Which one should I get? Here is some that I am considering. I will include link to manufacture and review I saw. Most review out there is for top capacity model only, which on paper is faster that smaller models. How does the around 500 GB model compares?
