Im switching from rx 560 to an gtx 1060 and before removing my old gpu I uninstalled the drivers with ddu, after putting my new gpu in I vent straight to nvidias web site to download new drivers. Half way through the installation I heard the plug and unplug windows sound, after that my screen was black, waited 15 more minutes and restarted my pc and everything was black but the pc was booting. Tried installing my old gpu in which worked, uninstalled the drivers again, replaced my old gpu with a new one, installed the drivers again and the same happened. Update: I managed to install the drivers in a Safe mode but when I boot up the computer normally it just black screens again (disconnects hdmi)

For the last few days whenever I have my computer on for longer than an hour (the time varies) it will suddenly blackscreen and become unresponsive. But the computer will still be on and running as if nothing happened. When I try holding the power button to force it to turn off, it doesn't do that. So I manually have to flip the power switch on the back of the PSU. Then when I flip it back on and press the power button, the power button doesn't work. So I have to flip the switch back off and wait for the motherboard LED lights to turn off, then hold down the power button for 5 seconds to discharge any capacitors, then flip the power back on and then it will turn back on. Anyone know what might be happening?

So recently I have the problem that my screens go black and freeze for a few seconds, this happens randomly and I don't know what te problem is. I have a feeling that is is my graphicscard. I recently bought a RTX 3080 and replaced my GTX 1080. But I still use my old powersupply, witch has 650 watts. I don't know if it is a problem that it has not enoth watts or that is is something else, but this is the only thing I could come up with. Because when I still had my 1080 I never had this problem.

A couple days ago, I was streaming and playing league of legends. Suddenly my computer screen went black, but i could still hear the audio - I turned the computer off and back on. Got the stream back up and finished playing the game without any issues. I believe this has happened one other time before - but i wasn't streaming. I cleaned out my computer dusted all the fans, cleaned the GPU to make sure there was No dust causing the issues. While I was just playing league my computer screen would freeze for a second, then go back and keep playing. I was using speccy and Radeon software to monitor me temps, and none of my temperatures got high at all. More back story to my pc that might be helpful. Maybe 3 months ago i sent my GPU for RMA because i was having a stuttering issue. They sent me back a different GPU (same model). I added a NVME SSD and did a clean install of the OS onto the new NVME ssd, I also added a new CPU cooler. A couple weeks ago i started to hear a whining sounds that I assumed was a fan. But today i cleaned my Computer and checked the fans but im still hearing the nosie. I have tried to update drivers, and read countless forms I am at a bit of my whits end trying to figure out what is wrong with this stupid machine. HELP! plz. Hello, I have a laptop SATELLITE A350-122 , it’s really old , but it was working very well.. Few weeks ago, its behaviour changed suddenly to become really worst and instable as following: When i press power button , it turns-on and all leds lights correctly (HDD led, Power-On led, Wifi led), but here is different behaviours and steps i did/encountred while booting: First I have to mention that all this post steps are tested without laptop battery, it’s only tested with charger because my battery life ended. Sometimes, the screen is fully black (means: like there is no current on the display/monitor) but the laptop fans works well, also its leds turns on, and hdd works, i can hear its little noise, but it stucks there, i mean there is no thing to display. Sometimes screen/monitor lights, but without displaying any thing, no text, no boot screen no thing (means it’s not fully black as step 2), and also it stucks there. When i restart pc by holding its power button for several seconds, then press it again, it started, but one of the previous behaviour is encountred another and another times without any boot screen neither displaying anything. I let my pc off for several minutes (between 15 and 20 minutes) without turning it on.. But after these minutes, i turned it on, the monitor turns on and in that step there is two random possibilities i could encounter along testing times: Sometimes it boot and access into windows correctly and works normally without any problem. Sometimes it stuck after booting into windows and all keyboard & mouse stucks. Sometimes it stuck before booting into windows (after displaying Bios & configuration texts like “press F2 to bios” etc). When i encounter the previous stucking steps, i try to restart again my laptop, but in that case i return to the first two steps (randomly stucked black screen step 2 or step 3). To analyse my problem, here is steps i did: Removed two RAM’s from its slots, and plug the first one RAM into its slot and turn-on power (but no changes). Removed two RAM’s from its slots, and plug the second one RAM into its slot and turn-on power (but no changes). I swapped RAM’s from their places/slots (no changes). I re-tested step 1 & 2 with swapped places/slots (also no changes). I removed HDD and turn-on (no changes). I harded reset my laptop with long-press power button (~15 secondes), and turn-on it again (no changes too ). Finally, i plugged my HDMI desktop monitor cable to check if it’s a display issue, but no changes too, the problem of the random behaviours still the same as on the laptop monitor. I really did not understand what can make these behaviour, and i’m stuck to define which part is causing this problem. I hope someone can help me. Thanks in advance

Screen goes black, GPU fan speed 100%, Sound keeps working.
Spee33 posted a topic in Troubleshooting
Hello, First time that something like this happened to me. It all happened a few days ago all out of the blue. It happens really random, sometimes with gaming and other times during Teams calls. Have no clue what causes it. Have tried a few things listed below: Checked for any driver updates. Checked for any Windows updates. Checked if all fans are spinning. Checked for any weird smells / sounds. Checked if pc was dusty. Checked of any loose cables. (Inside and outside of the pc) Plugged the system in a different wall outlet. (Weird one, but was worth trying) Removed overclocks. Tried the command: Win+Controll+Shift+B, that didn’t work. There are no mayor hardware changes, the only change: Removed my webcam. All temperatures look fine. (Cpu 60c – GPU 70c under load) PC Specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 3700X Motherboard: MPG x570 gaming edge wifi. Bios Version: 1.40 (According to DXDiag) (I'll edit this as soon as I can check the bios version) RAM: Corsair RGB Pro 4x 8gb 3200MHZ GPU: Gigabyte Nivida GTX 2080S SSD: Adata 512GB HDD: seagate 4TB PSU: Corsair RM850 System is just over a year old, never had these issues before. Sending it back isn't really an option, the company is really slow with repairs. I hope that any of you can help me. Since I'm kinda stumped.- 2 replies

So I bought the new Legion 5 2020 | R5-4600H | GTX1650 variant Three days before when I turned on hybrid mode (i.e. Using both iGPU and dGPU for saving battery) I found out that my laptop had missing AMD grahics drivers since the iGPU was running at 1Hz on my 120Hz panel. I downloaded the auto-detect software fom AMD website and it asked me which version of drivers I want. I selected the one without the optional that is windows certified and widely tested.... Everything went good till today... I was using my Discord as usual (Chrome and MS Teams was running in the background).... Suddenly my display except the mouse cursor froze and the screen went black for a second then returned..... That's when the Issue Found from AMD software popped up..... I just filed a bug report straightaway.... Then I opened chrome again and tried watching a YouTube video then the same issue occured.... And the bug report tool also appeared... [And I think the Radeon Software also crashes during the process]..... This problem is recreated when opening any video files but I still didn't test it on games but I don't wanna break my laptop.... Finally I thought it was a driver issue then I turned off hybrid mode and made my laptop run directly off of the dGPU... Now the problem is temporarily fixed.... Then I googled this issue and seems many people are facing the same issue and are blaming on the driver... Is it true? And even if it is will AMD release an update soon fixing this issue? Also I have attached the screenshot of my driver versions... Finally please mention if I had broke my laptop or if it is just a driver issue and the rest of my laptop is fine..... Pls feel free to askk me anything about the situation.... Thanks!!!

I'm currently running an MSI R9 290x on a really old motherboard an Asus P6T SE, I've been running the card slightly overclocked for about 2 weeks, everything was running fine I didn't have any issues. One day I'm in game and the screen suddenly glitched, went black and switched off. I tried turning the system on again but I can't even get it to boot to bios, absolutely nothing my screen, it's completely black. My PSU is a 650w from Cooler Master I don't think it's the PSU. Everything still works, fans spin on my case and GPU, LED's light up etc. What I've tried: 1. Opening the GPU cleaning any dust and re-applying the thermal paste 2. Re-seating and cleaning the CPU 3. Tried every RAM slot with one in each slot 4. My PSU has two 6+2 Connectors and I've tried both I read somewhere it may be something to do with the 12V rail but didn't work either 5. Disconnected all inputs, keyboard, mouse etc and tried booting 6. Re-inserting all connectors on the motherboard 7. I was using a DPI to HDMI connector I switched it to HDMI to HDMI and no luck At this point I'm completely out of options it's a really decent GPU even for today's games. I'd appreciate any help thank you!

Triple monitor black screen issues caused by smart TV
MayonakaKuro posted a topic in Troubleshooting
I have a triple monitor setup including: BenQ BL3200 - display port (main display) Acer SB220Q - display port to HDMI cable Sony X900 55" smart TV - HDMI 2.1 The main issue I have is unless the Sony TV is kept turned on, the two other monitors will black screen. If I completely disconnect the smart TV, both monitors work perfectly. I recently upgraded to a RTX3080 from a GTX1080 and that's when the issue started. Win10 Pro i7-7700K Maximins Hero IX G-Skill 32GB DDR3000 RTX3080 Corsair 850W All drivers up to date. -
So, searching on Google is terrible as you get lots of generic troubleshooting stuff where the monitor just doesn't turn on, or it's plugged into the integrated graphics, etc etc. So, I have one PG27UQ that works just fine, I can set it to 4k 144hz and it flips over no problem. The other PG27UQ I have, if I try to do the same thing, or just anything over 4k, it just flips to a black screen. Doesn't say no signal, the backlight is still on, there's just no image. Swapping displayport cables between the two makes no difference, the first one can still do 144hz and the second one still can't do anything higher than 60hz. Any help?

Hi guys, I'm experiencing a weird issue that I've tried to troubleshoot. Sometimes when I come back to my computer after a few hours, the screen is black and none of the peripherals are working. The motherboard is showing the Q code 90 and the DRAM LED is yellow as shown in the picture. The only way to use the computer again is to power cycle with the power button. It's mostly happened while it's being used in Ubuntu 20.04, but I've experienced once or twice a similar error in Windows 10. I've tried to check system journal, but I'm not able to find out if the computer suspended.

Hello, so as I was upgrading my PC I ran into some issues most of which have been fixed. The one problem I haven't been able to solve is that whenever I install the 3080 it doesn't appear to display video. I hook up my monitors to the card and they say "no signal detected" but whenever I switch back to my 2080ti it displays on both monitors without a problem. I know for a fact that the 3080 works because I had it hooked up to another system and it was working fine. The previous system only had a 750W 80+ Gold PSU while the one I'm upgrading has a 850W 80+ Gold PSU. I have tried installing new drivers, power cycling, re-installing, different CPUs, and different memory. Current specs: Ryzen 9 5900X 850W 80+ Gold PSU RTX 2080ti Please help me if you can. Any helpful comments are welcome and appreciated. Thank you. If you need more info just let me know.

This is not in the right channel. My bad. Firstly, I want to start off by listing my specs. I'm thinking about buying a new PSU, but I'll get to the deets in a bit. I'm going here because I don't want to waste money, just in case it's not what I think it is, but at the same time, I don't know if my 520W can handle this stuff. CPU: Ryzen 5 2600X Cooler: Hyper 212 EVO Graphics Card: GTX 1080, Blower-Style Cooler from PNY RAM: 2x 8GB DDR4 "T-FORCE" at 2400MHz Motherboard: Micro ATX, ASROCK B450M Steel Legend HDD: 1TB WD Blue at 7.2k RPM Had an M.2 SSD, but that got bricked...? Great. Not in the system anymore. PSU: Seasonic 520W Also have VR. I don't know if VR consumes more power, but it probably does, due to needing to drive dual displays at 90Hz. VR works "perfectly." There are black-screens whenever the system is under sustained load. If I load into an area in VR, the system goes kaput and restarts. If the system itself goes under sustained load when playing games, stress tests, etc. it restarts as well, and by restart, I mean it's back to the POST screen. Event Viewer says the system shutdown wasn't expected, and no other info is present. I down-clocked the CPU to it's base clock, because somehow it's overclocked by default in the BIOS? I down-clocked the GPU by -175 on the clock and -100 on the memory. Doesn't black-screen while I'm playing PC games anymore, considering that I lower the settings a bit. I figured this would reduce power consumption if it is a PSU issue. VR games still have the same effect, where it goes black. The default VRChat home works fine, but loading into any other world, and it's back to the POST screen. Loading into Phasmophobia boots it back to the POST screen as well. Same with Blade and Sorcery. As long as I'm not playing, or doing, anything demanding, the system can run as long as I want it to. Mixed reality home is fine. I think it's the power supply, and that it's been running close to max for longer than it can handle, considering that the components in there may be a bit power-hungry. Update: I looked up the minimum PSU requirements for a GTX 1080 and it was 500W. Time to get a new power supply. It's arriving in 5 days, so I'll come back with an update then. I'm leaving this here in case someone else has an issue with this sort of thing.

So recently I have determined an issue, after downloading windows update I noticed there was an optional driver update "AMD - Display - 27.20.14536.3" and without thinking, I went ahead and installed it. Came back to PC with black screen, no signal, no response on monitor. I reset my PC, got as far as the log-in screen for about 1 second, and black screen no signal, every reattempt got this far. Thinking it was a buggy update in general, I went in and did the whole nine yards of command prompting, safe mode, repair on advanced start up, system restore, you name it I probably did it to no avail. My final thought was just to re-install windows, which did work. Then - reinstall update besides that optional update, it is all fine... I install the optional update by itself, and the same issues occur. This time, a system restore point was available (the restore was available and used last time, but the log-in screen to black screen still occurred after used) but I was able to roll back that update on advanced start which got me into the desktop from log-in. So, thinking windows update just trashed on me, I went to AMD website to get the drivers directly. I started with the AMD Radeon Software tool to just knab all the drivers that were wiped from the reinstall, same result, system restore. Then, I just stuck with specific Ryzen 5700G page with the recommended 21.10.2 version, same result, system restore. I then tried the optional 21.11.2 (now it is 21.11.3, this was not available during these tests), same result except on the next start my PC BSOD'd just after the splash screen with the critical process died code?? I was able to get into advanced start up for the command prompt, and it seems that system files at least for SFC Scan, DISM, and chkdsk were affected as none of these would execute correctly if at all. System restore was not available either. At this point, another windows install was the only option I knew of. Now, looking back, I could have went into safe mode to roll back the graphics driver on device manager (although under the BSOD issue safe mode was not available, tried it as that idea just came to me during that bit but safe mode would also BSOD) instead of system restores or reinstalls, but I mostly wasn't aware of the direct cause of these issues then, not that I'm really certain of the direct cause now just going off of evidence. It is also possible that the force resetting caused the BSOD issue, but again, there was no way I could interact with the PC due to the black screen, no signal, as well as amazing Win10 needing to fail to launch windows correctly for the umpteenth time to get into advanced start. I have not went in and reobtained any other drivers just yet, but I am fairly certain there is an issue with either the driver itself or my PC components - what else could there be? Since my PC is still fairly new (few months) and my boot drive was mostly unused, on the last reinstall of windows I just cleared the whole thing of all partitions and installed as a like-new NVMe SSD to eliminate the possibility of corrupted files carrying over or what have you, just in case there might have been something there causing the BSOD. I have reinstalled the most recent windows update (not optional, the AMD display driver is still there) and that is where the PC is now, besides Discord and Steam and the essentials. Parts list: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/awgilb01/saved/#view=r3vMVn (There is NO dGPU) Windows version: Win10 Home 21H2 19044.1348 64x BIOS is F13 and will be updating to the newer version shortly, these issues were not present for the whole time of F13 until the initial cause. The monitor is connected to the motherboard via DisplayPort, interestingly enough earlier today I tried to connect it through HDMI and had no signal. I attempted this as after the reinstall the PC no longer detects my monitor speakers and will not play sound through them or through a headset plugged into the jack on the monitor, but will produce sound through any of the audio ports on the PC/mobo. Secondary issue to me. UPDATE I have went to my motherboard support page to grab the updated F14f BIOS, updated it and attempted to install Adrenalin 21.10.2, same result as above. Then, I installed the most recent AMD APU driver on the same page, same result as above. Then, I installed the AMD Chipset Drivers on the same page, restarted PC with no issues. Then, I tried the AMD APU driver again, same result as above. Every instance of black screen, no signal was fixed by entering safe mode to roll-back the display adapter driver. Interestingly enough, the AMD APU driver on the mobo page is version 21.30.14 and released on 10/13/21, there is no direct equivalent to the AMD Ryzen support page... They both use the AMD Radeon Software installer, yet the file from the AMD Ryzen support for ver 21.10.2 is listed as an upgrade, while the file from the mobo support page for ver 21.30.14 is listed as a downgrade...

So recently I got a new Powercolor Red Devil Radeon 6800XT, and for a while it was working fine until the screen would start to turn black almost randomly when playing games, and even recently happened while I was in the BIOS. The problem is that the screen turns black and I have to restart the pc to be able to do anything else on it at all, but it usually turns black again shortly after. The full specs of the pc are: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X cpu Gigabyte B450M DS3H motherboard Powercolor Red Devil Radeon 6800XT gpu WD blue 250gb m.2 ssd (boot drive) WD blue 2tb ssd Corsair RM750 80+Platinum psu 32GB Corsair vengence lpx ram Windows 10 home edition OS A side not is that I have tried multiple cables for the monitor, and all produce the same result, and this problem would not occur the first 3-4 weeks of having the new gpu. Edit: I have fixed this on my own after doing a pc restart, I want to assume that it was corrupted windows files, but I forgot to check for that on my own

My monitor's display goes black while I'm playing games(the power button is still on). This event is triggered when I play games for 10-60 mins. I can temporarily fix this by turning my monitor off then back on again, but after roughly 3 mins it turns black again. I have done the majority of troubleshooting options I've found online but non have worked. I thought it was my gtx 1060 dying so I switched it out for an old gtx 560 ti and got the same problems. Then I finally built a new pc, recycling my monitor and gtx 1060 but still got the same problems. I have also switched this monitor out for another one and saw no problems, so I think and am hoping that it's just my monitor dying but I would like to hear what more experience people think of this. Let me know if you need more descriptive details. Hi so I got a faulty gtx 770 that I'm unsure if the card is dead or not. Problems: - Screen goes black - prompting a reset - Fans go to max speed when the screen goes black What it crashes on: - Crashes on heaven benchmark - at start it crashes after a couple seconds, but after a couple crash cycles it eventually crashes instantly on startup of heaven. - Crashes on CS:GO and League of Legends after a couple some time. - Crashed after trying to run halo infinite and getting direct x 12 error message - unsure why it did this What it can run: - It seems to be able to run Furmark, and is able to heat up the gpu to atleast 80+degrees What I've tried(none successful): - Cleaned out dust w/ air duster - Replaced Thermal Paste - Lowered Core clock/Mem clock/Power limit in afterburner - changing to aggressive fan curve - Driver DDU - Tried on two different PSU's - Tried on two different motherboards So after all that it still crashes and crashes even worse, wondering if anyone else got has any idea's before I consider the gpu dead. Thanks! Attached will be a sensor log from gpu-z GPU-Z Sensor Log.txt

Before I got my 6700xt I was rocking with intel hd graphics with no problems. As soon I got my 6700xt I have started experiencing problems where when I am early in a game session the screen will go black and I have to manually restart my computer by flipping the power off and on again. After that my pc wouldn’t black screen for the rest of the play session but when I get on to play the next day the same thing always happens and I am very confused on why? Also I do mine on my card when I am not playing so recoup some of the cost as I don't want to sell my kidney to pay my debt. I have tried reinstalling windows, reinstalling drivers, setting pcei from auto to gen 3, getting a new power supply, updating motherboard bios and reinstalling the card but nothing really solves my problems. Can anyone help me? Thanks! Specs Cpu: 9700k Motherboard: Asus prime z390-a Ram: Corsair vengeance pro 3200mhz 16gb PSU: Msi mpg 750 watt

Hey LTT, i badly need help because my PC on which most of my work is, has started malfunctioning since earlier today ( 22nd Feb 2022, what a horrible day ! ) Now before we move on to anything else, i just wanted to tell that i had regularly backed up my windows on a portable HDD ( which i can still browse on another laptop ) but when i try to boot from it, it give a blue screen with Inaccessible Boot Device stop code and as a result i cannot boot from my backup , which makes for a very precarious situation as i risk losing a great deal of work if the PC is not recovered ! It was literally my last chance to boot seamlessly but it seems that windows is behaving rather strangely .. So when i started my PC today, i saw that it was taking awfully long to boot ( it usually booted in a minute ) and then i saw that there was a black screen and the white dots were spinning for a long time but there was no progress I am really anxious as to what to do and i 100 % need my PC to work at all costs so, i just need to know what are my chances of getting back my system without losing data ( i am really traumatized since i had kept backups which are useless now ). i tried looking through the many guides of resolving this error but to no avail. LTT is quite literally my last and final hope before i am forced to nuke my system with a fresh re-install, which will be very painful since there was a lot of stuff installed and i had hoped to keep my data intact.. Any help anyone can provide, i will be really grateful to them ! PC Specs : Ryzen 1500x RX 580 8 GB sapphire nitro 12 GB ram 1 tb WD green HDD Corsair TX 550 M Gold PSU i am not going to sleep particularly well today, but i do hope a resolution can be found .. EDIT : i tried booting to safe mode ( all 3 variants of safe mode ) but it does not work . It simply stays stuck on a black screen and NEVER boots ! EDIT 2 : I can clearly SEE MY MOUSE CURSOR on the black screen, but ctrl+alt+del does not work and neither do any other shortcuts ! EDIT 3 : This is very, very strange but i had another hard drive with a REALLY OLD backup - months ago probably. It's giving the EXACT same black screen problem ! I don't know what to do, can anyone help me ?

Hello, I have a problem which only occurs during a gameplay......all I get is a random black screen & a reboot. Sometimes after 1 min, or 10mins or 2 hours. There's no blue screen or any error code whatsoever. I did a stress test on CPU & GPU without any issues, also a mem test, without any trouble. I have all the latest updates. What should I check next? Specs: Radeon RX 470 GIGABYTE B450 Aorus Elite AMD Ryzen 7 2700X KINGSTON HyperX Fury HX432C16FB3-8 SAMSUNG SSD disk 970 EVO 1 TB LC8850III v2.3 Arkangel PSU
