  1. People also use distilled water with anti corrosives and anti microbial additives. I like clear coolants to prevent any kind of gunk or color build up in the blocks or radiators. I've only ever used EK coolant but other people have had luck with primochill coolants and mayhems as well.
  2. I've had EK's Ekoolant in my system for about a year now and so far so good. No problems with it at all.
  3. The extra gig of vram on the 470 might come in handy as games are using more and more each year.
  4. If you have to pay income tax on your profits and pay an accountant or spend time doing it yourself, it might not be worth it. You might end up making less than minimum wage for the time you put in.
  5. In Canada this isn't a very good deal. Samsung very recently just increased the price of the S7 edge from $850 to $1000 Canadian dollars. So even with the additional $100 off it's still $900 which is more expensive than before they increased the price before offering this extra credit. I would take the refund and buy something else.
  6. Seems good. Test it with games and benchmarks to see if there are any issues.
  7. I know the pain. Both my cards are 60 degrees on water with hot ass air coming out of the case and 3 monitors producing heat too. But a 1080 gets hot too.
  8. No downsides other than cost. It might be cheaper to get another 390x for crossfire and should be more performance than a single 1080 in games that support it. But there are more downsides to that than a single 1080. You'll lose support for freesync which is cheaper than gsync.
  9. I would leave all 3 in the front.

    Poll!

If you play on 1080p then the window is 14" diagonally or 25% area of the screen so all the pixels line up and maintains the same density. Read the section about this in the Display FAQ where it talks about 1080p on 4k monitors. If you can return the korean ones from newegg without having to pay return shipping then that's another great option as well. If they have artifacts or issues with the overclock you can return them, so its no risk to you. I just hate spending so much money on a new display and then having to deal with dead pixels. Some people don't care but I do. 4k monitors are nice but are designed to be used at their native resolutions.

You can carefully inspect the used one before buying but you can't do that with the korean monitors. Gaming on the 4k monitor with non native resolutions looks terrible to me. I personally can't stand it while other people seem to do it all the time and don't care. I would much prefer to play in window mode with the 1:1 scaling on the pixels so there's no interpolation or use lower settings with no AA or filters.

I have 2 of the TN 4k 28" panels. They're nice but gaming in 4K still isn't really worth it right now. Colour and viewing angles are just ok but not great at all. Go with a IPS 1440p for the best gaming experience. Its still hard to push games in high settings while maintaining a minimum of 60 fps. I would be wary of the ebay monitors, sometimes they use sub par components and even the perfect pixel variants may still have one or 2 dead pixels. It looks like g-sync with 1440p, 144hz, and IPS like the Acer predator are outside of your price range. I would go with either: BenQ XL2730Z 27" 1440p TN Freesync 144hz 1ms $283 Used, No bad pixels or ASUS PB278Q 27"1440p IPS 60hz? $300 New @Walmart The first one because its 1440p and 144hz and is a really good price for no dead pixels. The second is good too because its IPS and1440p for more accurate colours and viewing angles. Plus at walmart, if theres dead pixels, you can just return or exchange it.
  13. I would buy it out of curiosity. But don't expect too much.
  14. You might like the glock 17 more. The gun is slightly bigger and has better finger spacing for larger hands.
  15. I want a new graphics card for my computer. 3GB of vram for 4k is not enough.
  16. Sounds like a pretty good setup. 32gb of ram would be good if you use a million tabs of chrome. I find that graphics cards always look better in SLI, one card by itself looks lonely. 4.8ghz is a beastly overclock.
  17. nVidia has really messed up the pricing with this generation of cards. In Canada a FE 1080 is $910 and an EK block plus backplate is $200 for a total of $1110. Whereas the MSI Seahawk EK is only $1100 with the block and backplate installed plus factory OC.
  18. If he doesn't do anything intense, I don't think the i7 is worth it. I would recommend getting an i5 and a less expensive motherboard.
  19. Founders edition is definitely not worth it. For the premium you pay plus the price of the waterblock, you could get a MSI Seahawk EK or EVGA Hydrocopper version of the card with a waterblock already installed.
  20. I would go with the first build because of the overclocking capable board because the board on the second build would have to be upgraded to fully utilize the overclocking potential on the unlocked i5. If you already have the 970, I would hold off on upgrading the graphics card because you're going to be spending $300 on very little improvement.
  21. I would get the first build with an overclocking board.
  22. You could also wait and see if they release an rx490. But for freesync I'm still not sure whether a premium rx480 is really worth it over a base 1060. If the 1060 performs better, the game play with higher frame rates might be more attractive to me than slightly lower frame rates with freesync but it all depends on the game and how big of a performance gap there is.
  23. So far my current gaming system is an only SSD system with about 1tb total storage. I've been considering getting a NAS for expanded storage across all of my computers. But to answer your question, it depends on each individual user's needs. So far I'm doing ok with one TB but I know a lot of other people require a lot more.
  24. 3gb of vram is not going to be enough for battlefield 1 at max settings at that resolution, so a second 780 isn't going to help. My 2 780 ti's are limited by vram now which sucks.
