  1. I really like this. If it doesn't cost an arm and a leg I might pick one up when I get a new laptop. Edit: Watched the last 2 minutes of the video, $1500. Definitely considering it.
  2. That makes a lot of sense for the sales, I'll definitely probably wait then and continue to mooch off other people with nicer TVs
  3. Hi all, my old TV and Firestick combo I've had since 2014 finally kicked the bucket so I'm looking to get a new TV. I'm looking to spend around $300 or less on a TV (if it's got all the bells and whistles I want I'd go up to mid $300s). I don't watch TV a lot but there are quite a few shows on my backlog I need to catch up on but can't. Mostly would be watched from bed located maybe 12 feet from the TV, mostly used at night. Requirements 4K 40" minimum Some form of a Roku/ similar build in so I don't need to get another Fire Stick (bonus points if it's usable) Things I'd like but not mandatory Good quality (I imagine this is below the price range for most of the high end x-OLEDs I see in LTT videos) Decent speakers (I don't have surround or anything of that sort) Additionally, would it be worthwhile to wait for a big sale? I don't need it immediately, it's just something that would be nice to have. Thanks
  4. I've been using Spotify for 8 years, and I've always said that the audio quality was worse than YouTube for certain songs. I mentioned this to a friend recently, and he agreed. I tested a 5 songs (not blind, listen to a song and tell if they thought there was a noticeable difference not being regulated to volume) between the same songs on different platforms. I thought Spotify sounded noticeably worse than Apple Music and YouTube for several songs, but one of them I think can be attributed to the Music Video version of the songs (Castle of Glass by Linkin Park) having a different hook. I tested using my headphones (Sennheiser HD 598) and my AirPod Pros and thought the trend was similar, but for different songs. I googled it and everything said I was wrong, that Spotify should be atleast better than YouTube. I'm curious if anyone has any similar experiences or thoughts on this.
  5. Was straight market manipulation from the beginning. Wouldn't be surprised if he sold calls before announcing he wasn't buying it. The SEC is a spineless body, but he should definitely be investigated for his entire foray with Twitter.
  6. Tesla composes roughly 5% of the Index so a lot of it can be blamed on Tesla. Due to some fancy market magic related to ETFs, Tesla definitely contributed to the overall decline. Plus with Netflix missing earnings, lots of investors are sheepish on Tech at the moment. MS beats earnings, and Google missed, so we're probably seeing the trend continue for the foreseeable future.
  7. Regarding the censorship from the west, the first thing that comes to mind was the scandal a few years back where some streams (ESL or Eleague I think) were banning people in Twitch Chat who said "War Crimes" whenever a US Air Force Ad (They sponsored the tournament) was broadcast.
  8. Summary ESL has run about 80% of all high tier tournaments in CS since 2020. ESL is the parent company of DreamHack and ESEA, while FaceIt is one of their 2 competitors. FaceIt is the platform that best competes with ESEA in most of the world. They were both purchased by Savvy Gaming Group, which is backed by the Saudi Arabian Sovereign Wealth Fund. They claim they will begin providing stipends to "up and coming" players to foster competitive play. Quotes My thoughts This, clearly, is an attempt at washing the Saudi Arabian Government's image. However, I don't think the current path of Esports' growth would've been sustainable, without literally throwing away money with no plan to see any financial ROI. As someone who used to be fairly involved with the low-mid tier competitive scene, I think this will be a good thing, since more prize pools and better servers is always a good thing. However, I think this can potentially lead to the Esports scene becoming even more franchised than it currently is. I wouldn't be too shocked if we see similar funds start buying stakes in teams, raising questions of conflict of interest, which have plagued the scene for years. Additionally, I'd raise questions regarding ESL's plans for a Woman's League, and whether talent who are vocal about Saudi Arabia's Human Rights Abuses (among other things...) will be "uninvited" from events they host. I expect we may see Valve take a stance towards this near monopoly. I'm not too familiar with Dota's circuit, but I know ESL was involved with it a few years ago as well. As someone who follows the Finance Side, the $1.5B deal is absolutely massive. Fairly sure this is the largest M&A in Esports. 9. I'm in 2, usually join fast. By the time I join they're always out. Do I just have to be quicker?
  10. I built this PC in Winter 2019 right before Covid, planning on buying a 3070 at launch. My existing 980 is on it's last legs, and I'm looking to upgrade. How do I buy a 3070/ 3060Ti/ AMD equivalent for within 133% MSRP? Just get lucky? Or do I have to give in to Scalpers?
  11. The whole El Salvador bitcoin thing would be really funny if it's impending failure didn't mean 6.5 Million people suffering.
  12. 9700K, GTX 980, Phanteks Eclipse P350X, Corsair H100i, MSI Z390 MoBo. I still have a 980, since I haven't been able to score a new GPU. My GPU hits 92c playing games, while my CPU never goes above 65. I'm afraid to change my Fan curves to track the GPU, since if I do something CPU intensive and they don't rack up, it'd overheat. Is there a software I can use to have it swap between CPU and GPU as the sensor depending on which is higher?
  13. IGN Posted several tweets and articles sharing links on donating to support Palestinian aid funds following the recent bombings. My thoughts I was honestly shocked to see the article posted in the first place, given the usual media silence on this issue. Gamespot and Kotaku's articles are still up as well. I think it's important to look at this and not be angry that it was deleted, but glad that it was posted first. 14. Kinda expected tbh, I've probably spent more on CS micro transactions and Destiny stuff than I have on new games in the past year.
  15. Still don't understand how people here manage to get victim complexes over fucking GPUs

  16. This is apparently a direct sequel to both Olympus and London has fallen.
  17. Better than I expected. After the usual 5-20% less performance from the inhouse benchmarks will still be pretty good. And is anyone else questioning the 6800XT to 6900 having the same TDP?
  18. I expect Intel to try and scoop up market share on the low end, offer a solution similar to SLI with the iGPUs, then 2-4 generations down the line to come in and be reasonably competitive at the mid-high end.
