You shouldn't, practically speaking they should be identical, or at least within margin of error.

I wouldn't. There are three main factors that matter for RAM compatibility for the QVL given a certain board, CPU, and BIOS setup: PCB, memory ICs, and rated settings. The XMP kit and EXPO kit are almost certainly running the exact same PCB, and they are both guaranteed to be some sort of Hynix memory IC (either M or A die), so those two factors are the same. The rated speed bin is so you know if a kit can actually work at a certain speed, so for AM5 if the two kits had the same PCB and ICs, but one was rated for 6000 CL30 and the other was rated for 7200 CL34, the 6000CL30 kit could be on the QVL but the 7200 kit would not. That doesn't mean that the 7200 kit wouldn't work on the board, it very much would, it just wouldn't work at the rated settings.

What likely is the reason why one is on there and the other isn't is your board vendor only tested one of them. The QVLs are only with kits they've tried, it is by no means an exhaustive list, so just because a kit isn't on the QVL doesn't mean it won't work. Plus board vendors test their QVLs with CPUs that have golden IMCs, so for the high spec kits especially just because it's on the QVL doesn't mean it would work either.

in simpler terms thats 422, full rgb is almost 444, basically it's chroma sampling that takes out some colors to reduce bandwidth so u can go higher than 98hz on 4k hdr.

The max on the displayport 1.4 is 422 144hz hdr/444 120hz sdr/444 98hz hdr (these are the only 3 settings i recommend) i use 444 98hz most of the time, 422 isn't very noticebale in games other than slight discolorations and i used it for 144hz on poe and warframe last year. 422 makes text blurry on desktop, among other things.

Theres a new tech called DSC (?) that uses compression to lower bandwidth so some monitors can use 4k 144hz 444 instead of 422, but no hdr1000 monitor that supports it yet, soon tm.  displayport 2.0 also doesnt have bandwidth problems at 4k/144hz but that won't be widespread til 2022.

I’m using the ASUS ROG RTX 2080 Ti not an AMD card. I just wish that my monitor was working the same way it was when I got it because I wasn’t having these issues until today. I thought that my monitor had an issue when using HDR. Also I don’t think it will carry over from SDR to HDR because it locks most of my OSD picture settings when I enable HDR so it must be doing its own thing.

i adjusted it in sdr mode then turned on hdr, not sure how much of that carries over, you can further adjust it in nvidia control panel, not sure about amd cards though. The gamma isn't perfect in lower brightness hdr, but it's good on the eyes and everything looks good.

it's not stuck pixels, just hdr being weird and display colors that are out of range, happens in some games, happened to me on shadow of war. I'm not sure whether this is a problem with how windows handle hdr or the game. The purple dots are way out of range and the blues in the sky is kinda off too. Rest Assure your monitor is not broken in any way.

You can get this problem for sure if you play in fullscreen windowed mode and enable hdr both on desktop and in-game. For games that have poor hdr implementation i recommend playing in full screen windowed, turn off hdr in-game, and adjust brightness/contrast in game.

Yeah I was worried about the fact I couldn’t use the new Xbox Series X with either of my pc monitors unless I played in 1080p and even then I wouldn’t be taking advantage of the Series X, but I am thinking about getting an LG OLED for the Series X so I can enjoy it from my bedroom if I want to play on that.

it's ok if you don't mind a curved monitor next to a flat one,

as for how annoying the x27 and pg27's fan is, they'd sometimes rev up like a jet engine on start and stops after about a minute, if i had to guess it happens once a month. Haven't heard any of those complaints for the 35inch models. With a 2080 ti i mostly turn on hdr on desktop, lower the brightness from 50% to 30%, stock brightness from 240(?) to 120 nits and play everything on windowed, it looks nice but it's....not optimal until ampere comes out. The 1440p/144 is less intensive than even 4k/98.

The only concerns i have with the pg35vq is indeed the 21:9 compatibility with the new consoles, not so much the pc games, they'll be fine.

If you've never seen subsampling before, it's worse than most people think, i doubt any1 truly runs 4k/144hz or 1440p/200hz on these monitors.

i can only speak for the launch models, the fan is worse on the pg27uq (both of them suck tbh), thats another reason to get the pg35vq, color uniformity is better, calibration is better on the x27(u can fix this with ur own calibration, but asus definitely got lazy here), asus meanwhile has better calibration and input lag on the pg35vq vs the x35.

if u don't mind the curved, just get the pg35vq, if u do decide to go with the pg27uq, get the x27 instead

the x35 and the pg27uq both sucks compared to their counterparts lol, it's the little things.

I personally went with the x27 because i didnt wanna wait nor do i prefer the curved VA. but 1440p/144hz>4k/98 for now. I've physically seen all 4 monitors.

Personally I'd go with the ultrawide, but I like them as monitors more overall.

A couple notes of the pros on the ultrawide:
You have it listed as half the resolution of 4k, which is incorrect. It's a lot higher than half. It's also more immersive in multiplayer games, not just single player. I don't think the fans are really going to do much for the chance of it breaking. If anything, there's another thing to go wrong. As for your list of cons for the ultrawide:
The black bars really aren't noticeable. I'm also not sure why people complain about them. There are very, very few games that don't work with 21:9. Mostly very old titles. I find it hilarious the wall projection even made it to the cons list. I also find it odd that you list the warranty as a con with the first, and not the second, even though they're both Asus.

When I said easy to run I meant get 60 FPS 4k, obviously I’d have to lower some in game settings to achieve that though. And yeah the PG35VQ is definitely the better choice I think. Just a shame it probably won’t fit on my desk. I guess I could buy it and try fit it on and if not just send it back and get the PG27UQ instead.

the x27 is a better monitor than the 27uq (owned both), and the 35vq is better than the x35, if you have to go with asus and curved doesn't bother u, then i recommend the 35vq, as the issues on that are for sure fixed. I've heard the 27uq fan got changed to a different one but can't be 100% sure, u can google on that one.

As for functionality i'll just list the pros/cons for both the x27 and the 35vq, some of these are subjective
x27 pros: pixel density, flat ips, i've seen it for 1199 on sale. Cons: fan noise, realastic setting is 4k/98hz hdr
35vq pros: quieter fan(s), actual 1440p/144hz uw without subsampling, easier on the gpu than 4k. Cons: 2499, curved va, corner distortion to color accuracy.

I have to say I REALLY don't like curved monitors so my friend when given the option went with the 35vq because he can actually run games at 144hz without subsampling.
