monk_ reacted to Fasauceome in Hyper 212 black edition non-rgb
Yes, I use the 212 black on my overclocked i7 and it's super quiet, even with 2 fans on it.

Hey guys, i'm trying to make a built NON-RGB in Brazil, there a few non-rgb stuff here so i want to buy the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black edition, my question is: i'm using the original coolerbox from adm (ryzen 5 2600) and is very very loud, this CM hyperx 212 is much better or not?

If you want red led fan this one is not too bad

There seems to be a terminology issue. By “fan cooler” do you mean a “case fan”?

Ah. Case fans then. There are a few types of fans. “Case fans” are built for high cfm, low static pressure and low noise. “Liquid Cooler fans” are built for high static pressure to push through cooler fins but it costs them some CFM. “CPU fans” are generally very similar to liquid cooler fans except they sometimes have additional features and tend to be of higher general quality.

In that case the answer is “almost always no” though if a CPU fan is pointing in a particular direction a case fan very close to it does not want to point in an opposite one.

I’m sure my command of your native language is much poorer than your command of mine.

Sure, you can do that. What fans did you have in mind?

It's not really possible for high clocks by themselves to cause damage or shorten lifespan. Its the temp, in your case fine, and the voltage that can cause immediate or slow inset damage. Since your not doing anything extreme and your temp is low enough that I assume that your voltage isn't impossible high.
-
monk_ reacted to KingTdiGGiTTy in gtx 1050 ti overclocking
If it's stable it's totally fine. 72 is a fine max temp.

Sounds about right so far as performance bump, i had a AIB 1050ti and got about 10-15% improvement ran it that way for nearly a year no issues. If you are using MSI Afterburner the settings that could kill your card (too much voltage, not to be mistaken with "More Power/Power Limit", which is always fine to crank up) are locked down to safe maximums allowed by the vbios, you can't access settings that will kill the card, the only potential issue is stability. Only thing you could potentially worry about is if temps are too high due to crappy computer case etc, 85C+ on GPU, 100C+ on memory.
So long as its stable you have nothing to worry about

I'm running a gtx 1050ti 4gb oc version. in msi core voltage set 0, power limit set to 102, core clock set to + 152, memory +155, and im getting 1911-1925 mhz clock stock cooler working fine

Its a 50 series card, it was designed to be nearly out of date when it launched don't expect another 3 years unless you only play TF2 and continue to plan to do so.
Like what dogbro said just don't frick voltage up and you will be fine with OC, just find stable setting, voltage and heat are the only things that will kill your components, and like AIChan said voltage is locked in bios so with MSI Afterburner you can't really kill a card (DO NOT fear "more power" setting, this is fine to crank up). For most Nvidea cards a rough 10% in performance, in games, is about what you should get, not sure if this scales with Superpostion, but feel free to find stable clocks there first and move forward into games after for simplicity. I prefer Valley or Heaven tbh since its usually quicker to run and more relevant to actual ingame performance, 3DMark is more for people who never had a GF in highschool and who are embarrassed about their dick size so they buy 2x 2080tis and then put them under LN2 to feel less emasculated, point being the end scores don't always scale accurately with actual games.

Safe because the max voltage is locked in the bios. Dont flash it to one that delibrately breaks it and you're fine
keep the OC, no harm in doing so so why not

monk_ reacted to Derrk in gtx 1050ti overclock
gpu overclocks are completely safe as long as you don't change the voltage

Your house doesn't need to be wide open for temps to be kept in check. There's plenty of heat lost due to lack of perfect insulation.
Have you stressed for temps? The stock cooler should be adequate for keeping temps in check for most systems.

monk_ reacted to WoodenMarker in i5 7400 gtx 1050 ti
Why are you looking for an aftermarket cooler?
Are temps or noise too high?

monk_ reacted to TheSLSAMG in i5 7400 gtx 1050 ti
It's way better than the stock cooler, and since the i5 7400 is not overclockable, it should be more than enough to keep your CPU a lot cooler and also quieter. I wouldn't really buy anything much better than that for it since you can't overclock and lower temps alone won't improve overall system performance (unless you were previously throttling.)

monk_ reacted to Jurrunio in i5 7400 gtx 1050 ti
"ripoffs" as in multiple coolers copied the Hyper 212's design with minor changes on their own. Basically that's how all cheap 4 heatpipe 120mm coolers come from
-
monk_ reacted to Jurrunio in i5 7400 gtx 1050 ti
yes, Hyper 212 ripoffs like this are your best bet and no need to get better.

Yup, broken. Lol, I know someone with a newer i7 and the game is a stuttery mess. I heard if anyone can get the game to be somewhat usable then they are lucky.

monk_ reacted to Mister Woof in i5 7400 and gtx 1660
Depends on the game.
Some won't give a shit about having SMT or more than 4 cores (although those will typically like faster cores)
But others wont run well without them, specifically in fps lows.
