    Oh Awesome, Thanks!
I don't know much about power supplies but it seems like the GF A3 would probably make the most sense to go for.

    Cool! Good to know!
If I recall corretly, as long as the 7800x3D has a good pair of RAM sticks to go with it, that's pretty much it. Maybe undervolting will help here and there but yeah seems like that CPU is already giving it all. Thanks for your effort!

So after spending a couple of days educating myself on how PBO and Ryzen overclocking works, then finding out my Asus B650 has a special sauce mode that allows you to overclock this puppy to 5.4Ghz, I did eventually play around with it.

To my disappointment and amazement, overclocking didn't produce any meaningful results. This chip is already an efficiency champion. In CPU-heavy games like BF2042 with 128 players on tight maps, this thing sips 55-60W while boosting itself accordingly up to 5Ghz. Compared to my 9900k that chugged over 200W at 5Ghz, this looks like magic.

I could play around more and try doing something naughty to it, but I decided not to. The performance is there and I can't ask any more from it. As for the stability, well it works.  Playing games at 4k 120FPS on max settings while having Edge open with multiple tabs in the background for youtube music, talking in Discord, and recording everything using AMD ReLive with settings cranked. With all that my system quietly cruising along with GPU staying at 70c and CPU 55c and RAM usage +/- 15GB

I also use RAM as a buffer memory for AMD ReLive so that I can save the last X amount of seconds/minutes of my gameplay instead of constantly recording or ruining my NAND SSD by re-writing buffered footage

So from whatever I did with this setup, currently it is working flawlessly.

I'm in the US, so if you have certain retailers you're looking at I'd otherwise have to guess with a USD to Euro conversion (which I know isn't 1:1 based on supply and demand for some products). I would check to see if the same motherboards from any retailers you may use are within reason in terms of extra cost.

If its <50€ more as example, then its worth it in my opinion. It'll also be more likely to support future generations if the 8800x3D or 9800x3D are compatible and have some space magic level performance gaps over the 7800x3D. You'll also not run into the issue that plenty of AM4 users are having where they 'cut some cost' getting B450 motherboards that didn't support PCIe 4.0 and now can't run some GPUs at full performance without upgrading to B550 just for PCIe 4.0 support.

I just built a system yesterday with 7800X3D on Asus Strix  B650E-E, 32GB 6000Mhz and it doesn't seem to have any issues (So far), but it's out of the price range. There are Asus TUF B650s with WiFi for around 230-250, x2 4.0 slots. I built a system on that board for a friend of mine a few months ago, it runs great with 32 gigs 6000Mhz in all games and some video editing.

Not a fan of MSI boards in general. Somewhat clunky Bios and lack of some features.

    Gigabyte is a solid option.

Its a little more money but the PG RIPtide is an option. I've had quite good luck in the past 6 months with my Asrock board and G.Skill 6000CL30 EXPO memory. Flawless, in fact.

FD North fits all the way to eATX (not listed support but can confirm). One thing to consider is a B650e board instead to get PCIe 5.0 support. It might not matter in 2023, but with the way the RX 7600 and RTX 4060ti are, having higher generation PCIe support can matter. They might start wiring 8x lanes on even higher mid tier cards just simply due to GPU architecture limitations.

B650e pricing isn't too far off and you might find better features. Either MSI or Gigabyte are fine, I've bought plenty of both over the years.

Honestly not going to matter a whole lot between them. Little things like the MSI uses the AMD/Mediatek Wifi chipset, while the Rev 1.1 of the Gigabyte uses the tried and true Intel AX210 (rev 1.0 uses the AMD/Mediatek option, they likely realized it sucks and swapped back to the good Intel option).

Trident Z5 Neo's fit under AK620 just fine. AK620 Zero Dark is an option too for the blackout look.

35-40 bucks for a cooler that's as good as a Noctua NH-D15 yet 10mm shorter!

yes there are technical benefits if it implemented correctly and if your on a low fps to help, but for me i dont care how good it is implemented, the first thing i do is disable motion blur, depth of field, any other lens blur nonsense. if it helps you good for you, enjoy it. i hate it.
