  1. Fun Fact: Pegatron is ASUS's oem/manufacturing division it spun off
  2. I went with a 1000W PSU for my 5950x + GPU watercooled build so yea should be good. 650W is too low for reasonableness sake even though it would probably work. 850 minimum imo
  3. I've heard that Gigabyte's "launch" BIOS for Ryzen 5000 is just about the worst so I'm hoping that this fixes when on bios update. I'm also planning on switch to an asus dark hero long term anyways so lets hope it's the shit bios.
  4. I am STRUGGLING with my 5950x. Aorus Master didnt release a new bios for launch yet but it's the same AGESA patch that ASUS just released 1.1.0.0 Patch C but from October. Mine gets whea errors at 1867 and cant do 1900 even with tons of soc/vddp/vddg voltage. I'm getting pretty salty
  5. The Pro was just released and should probably have BIOS 1607 or w/e was the first one to support Zen 3. Even the plus I bought last night probably does, but Im going to ask them to flash in case as the plus is much older.
  6. Behind how exactly? Unless you mean memory clocks over 3600mhz in 1:2 mode?
  7. I have the patriot 4400 kit myself and I managed to grab a 5950x today. I did consider the aorus master and I think the patriot kit is actually on the QVL for the Aorus as well but I went with Asus TUF Plus Wifi for now, will likely look at a Dark Hero, but overall I would get the patriot I think. Buildzoid has made videos about the patriot kit because it's his fave and although he just said fclock couldnt do 2000mhz for a 4000mhz mem clock at 1:1 mode, der8auer just countered saying AMD themselves told him it's possible, likely on the finest chips. Buildzoid just confirmed on reddit that 4000mhz 1:1 is possible with a new BIOS, I see some were released today. https://www.reddit.com/r/overclocking/comments/joq527/2100fclk_11_on_5950x_screen_found_on_facebook/
  8. The Asus pro is gonna be a fine choice. I had one (not the pro, just the plus actually and I killed it by fucking up the socket, my mistake) with a 3600x, I just bought one one as a temporary home for my 5950x i got today but it could be it's permanent home, most of the x570 boards are high quality. The pro is the tuf gaming plus with better lan and heatsinks and is newer so I'd probably just grab it if that what you can get. Edit: Just read OP again, sounds like the Asus pro is hard to get? The TUF gaming plus and plus wif are basically the same like I said, or grab the MSI it wont go wrong either, they are both good boards.
  9. Who looked at this and thought it was a good idea. It looks like my grandma turned up the scaling in the browser by 10-20% and didnt even really redesign the forums. You also didnt test fucking external login api's. And this is after I see the forums begging for volunteers to do hard work on the site for free when LTT is a BUSINESS and can afford to pay people to work on the forum. Yikes! Forum not going in a great direction but there's hope. Just revert this shit and dont make people work for free.
  10. Ok, I knew this was too good to be true. Back to "Fuck Apple"
  11. Surprised this lawsuit is going through. I thought we already accepted our new license based overlords. Youtube/Google and Apple also already offer movie purchase/rentals, as does Cineplex (Canadian movie theatre chain). Dont see how this differs to any other rental or subscription service, if it applies to them it applies to Amazon
  12. I almost want to take this post back now but they really are in the right with the ad trackng. This camera bullshit however reminds me why I will never use Appple even if they do some things right. Tim Apple: "We have that fancy recycling robot that like 0.0001% of all iPhones get put through, we don't need to allow the phones to be repairable, naaaaaah what's the problem?"
  13. Apple 100% in the right for once. Fuck the advertisers, and it's not anti-competitive at all.
  14. I love how she compares them to Kinder Surprise. Because you know, Kinder Surprise eggs really just incorporate all those psychological triggers that gambling does such as : highly rare prize options (Any 1% "drop rate" kinder surprise toys? No, none of them are rarer than the other of a given series), exaggerated sound and video effects when you open them, the fact that literally no one places any value on a kinder surprise toy, whereas in game items can be worth substantial amounts and be easily marketable, sometimes within the game. The lootboxes are randomized via computer code at the instant of purchase or opening rather than being a physical object created at a factory, have a variable drop rate table for the prizes (usually not advertised), confer a competitive or social benefit which creates value, have all the same psychological triggers. It's clearly gambling. Praise be the dutch.
  15. It should be quite literally 0 maintenance with tygon norprene, distilled water and clear additive im using. No plasticizer to leach and gunk, no dyes, no particles. Im using all nickel plated blocks with copper rads (that I'm cleaning using mayhems blitz kit) and the daz mode additive is anti bio/ anti corrosion and I'm mixing it at max strength ratio of 1:5 instead of normal 1:10 (recommended by mfr). There shouldnt be shit in my loop
  16. Lisa really pissing me off this month. Fucking december and $999? Why did I root for AMD to come back again exactly?
  17. Thanks AMD, I didnt want to make any money this week, or during the week you announced zen 3 either. Just keep have to fucking me over with this Xilinx BS. Couldnt have waited a year or something at least, no lets just throw around OVER 1/3rd of our value on an acquisition. At least they didnt pay cash like with ATI
  18. Very interesting thread OP. I was looking into this as I was planning my upcoming build and I want it to be zero maintenance. What I have learned is: Tygon can be good shit or average shit. I don't know what you are using but the clear high purity plasticizer free tubing has been reported to cloud easily in some cases. If you mean Tygon Norprene black tubing, congrats that tubing is what I just chose and is basically immune to anything you would put in a watercooling loop. It's rated for tranny and brake fluid I believe. As for antifreeze/automotive/glycol. What I can say is that many pc coolants do already contain either ethylene or Propylene glycol. Propylene glycol is the bad one that can react with clear pvc tubing. Ethylene glycol found in automotive stuff is fine. The additive I'm using is also ethylene glycol based, I very highly considered automotive but went with DazMode Protector since it's literally designed for a water-cooling loop. I have seen people report that using 10% coolant concentrate (not premix) works well, I would guess the 50/50 mix is maybe a bit heavy on the glycol but should work. I dont know much about these glycol-less options but I wouldnt expect much, I believe the glycol actually s meant to improve the heat capacity performance of the coolant despite many posts on the internet claiming otherwise.
  19. Super has only been used for a "refresh". Typically the card above 60 tier is 60Ti and launches right away. It seems like Nvidia might refresh Ampere on TSMC 7nm because of Big Navi so then they'll use Super.
  20. Not the same thing, but yea Xe wil be on CPUs that have integrated graphics. I'm talking specifically DG1 / Xe Max discrete gpu
  21. PBO is technically overclocking. Cant wait to put a 5950x under water and see what it can do all core
  22. Honestly Lenovo is probably not the best choice to test keyboard latency on, they only just recently fixed the skipped input problem on many of their high end laptops for the 4th time.
