  1. Could be worse, you could have gotten an ASRock board and spent 2 months trying to support to send you a non defective board before they company blocks you calls and emails. One of my buddies has a ASUS board that died twice, but was able to get it replaced, so despite support working with him and resolving the problem, that's two failures...
  2. Patents are good. The USPTO, however, is run by morons and most of the staff fired.
  3. ASRock has some of the worse Customer Service I have ever had to deal with. Inept at every turn. Sadly it seems to be quite common from the looks of things
  4. Supermicro occasionally sends me a product catalogue... Actually, so have a few others.
  5. Looks like a solid phone. Having had my desktop out of commission for a month, I've been relying on my phone for a lot of things. It's an iPhone 5, and it's really starting to show its age, battery life is way down, apps crashing, etc. I've been thinking a bit on upgrading, but the budget is what it is.
  6. Mice: Logitech G602 Mouse Pad: Corsair MM200 Keyboard: Cherry KC1000 Headphone: Apple Earpods Quite mismatched setup. Been tight on cash for a while but I think upgrading my audio solution would be nice. Keyboard too, but less so. Always seems to be something more pressing that needs to be done.
  7. Currently using an EVGA GTX 770 2GB. That 2 gigabytes of VRAM is really starting to hurt in modern titles. I have no brand loyalty and am always interested in seeing how other products compare.
  8. Very cool. Not sure exactly where I'd be able to use it my home, but we have a couple bare walls that I might be able to make work. Thanks LTT and LG for doing a giveaway. Good luck everyone!
  9. I have a Cherry KC 1000. It's a $10 membrane keyboard, but it is made by Cherry, so it could be worse. I'd like an upgrade partly because I like opening boxes of new tech stuff...
  10. I doubt my GPU truly qualifies, but I'll let you decide. 4gb cards came out about a month and a half after I got it; I probably should have just ponied up for a 780/Ti but I was recently out of a job. It's performed as well as can be expected, though sadly there can be a bit of coil whine in my particular unit. Spoilers to save space: Good luck to everyone and thanks @GreezyJeezy for the giveaway.
  11. I'd like the keyboard since the only one I own is a membrane keyboard worth about $10. I own 3 mice though, not sure how that happened. Thanks LMG and Tesoro for hosting this giveaway.
  12. Ouch, that hits my build as well. Guess that means I'll need to update the guide, which unfortunately resets the counter (I think). Dang it MSI! Edit: Looked up the contest rules Hopefully if they read the guide I have and I somehow won they'll see I already have a replacement listed. So there's no reason to update your guides if you have used the Sea Hawk.
  13. Just a reminder to everyone posting new links; Please go back through the other pages and check out the other forum members builds. Also if you're familiar with Github or Reddit formatting, pcpartpicker uses the rules. It can make a big difference in presentation.
  14. Speed, silence and size are the best reasons to get an SSD. Life is just so much better when you have one (or more).
  15. Just finished formatting my guide. Give it a look over and point out any issues you see. Thanks. https://pcpartpicker.com/guide/6Qwrxr/msi-build-your-dream-pc-guide-tuxedo I'll be going through and giving everyone here an up vote.
  16. I made a guide too. Did everything I could not to follow MSI's desire to have all their builds using red and black. Hopefully the motherboard is valid for the contest. https://pcpartpicker.com/guide/6Qwrxr/msi-build-your-dream-pc-guide-tuxedo Good luck to everyone on the forums, hopefully one of us can take home the prize.
  17. Thanks Linus and everyone else at LMG for doing a holiday giveaway. Grandma wants a wireless printer that does high quality photo prints and a big smart photo so she can see what she is doing. Being 76 years old and not the most tech literate person around, means both of these are probably a bad idea; she has a hard enough time just using her laptop. I play tech support with enough of our family devices, I don't want to imagine what things would be like with those two. Dad is fairly techy for his age and I would probably want to get him a GoPro do to all the mountain biking he does. Partly because he loves to tell us about all his rides and partly because there are a lot of stupid people out there on the trails doing stupid things and my mom and I would like records of anything that might happen. Peace of mind for us. Mom says she wants the same thing as last year; a bigger house (that's not MacGyvere'd together) and Summer! Since a new house is way out of the budget for anyone and I doubt anyone in the crew is a weather god, I'll have to go with something else. She's currently using a second hand 2006 MacBook we got from a repair shop a friend worked at. It doesn't have a battery, it's power cable is fraying, she's afraid of turning it off, Apple no longer supports the system, it is incredibly slow to the point where basic internet browsing is a problem and online banking is becoming a problem because no one supports the browsers/OS. I think I'll have to replace it in the next two years as is, I doubt it will live much longer. http://www.amazon.com/X551MA-Laptop-Intel-Celeron-500GB/dp/B00SV72ZA2/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1449143690&sr=8-2-fkmr0&keywords=Asus+F205TA-FD0064TS Seems to be a decent option for the price. It doesn't have an ssd but it's not a chromebook and I won't have to go out and buy more storage for her if she runs out immediately. I'll look into a family NAS at some point. A number of replies look suspiciously like gift ideas the user wants for themselves, but LMG will be the ones to judge.
  18. I like the idea of these really small form factors cases. My parents don't have room for a mid or full tower case out in the living room where their TV is, and my mothers 10 year old laptop is really showing it's age. Something like this that is small, quiet and relatively powerful would be excellent for them.
  19. 446 pages and going before I even saw this post, wow. I like the finish on the keyboard the most; clean and simple. RGB LED's aren't really my style so this would fit me. I wonder if we can get a review of the products (assuming I haven't missed those also), before people start handing over their cash.
  20. From your latest build it seems like you still have a bit of strange make up (comparatively). I'd say you've moved from mech/tempo to a slight mech/control deck. The problem is that mixed archetypes don't always perform well higher on the ladder. I don't know what all of you cards are so it can be a bit hard to make recommendations. The lack of Flamewaker would indicate that you haven't completed Blackrock Mountain (unless you just aren't using him). If Mage is going to be your primary class, you should really think about crafting Archmage Antonidas, combo him with any one mana spells so you have burst. For a more typical mech mage deck I'd remove the 2x Flamecannons, 2x Sorcerer's Apprentice, 2x Arcane Intellect, 1x Effigy, 1x Polymorph, 1x Azure Drake, 1x Sludge Belcher, 1x Spectral Knight, and 1x Flamestrike. That's 12 cards. Replace them with 1x Arcane Missile, 2x Cogmaster 1x Frostbolt, 2x Annoy-o-Tron, 2x Spider Tank, 1x Goblin Blastmage, 2x Clockwork Knight 1x Archamge Antonidas. Other cards that work are Clockwork Gnome, Unstable Portal, Fel Reaver, Piloted Sky Golem, Gazlowe and Kel'Thuzad . Mix and match according to what you have, don't feel the need to go and craft everything. For the current Tempo Mage remove all mech based cards, 1x Polymorph, 1x Spectral Knight, and 1x Flamestrike. That's 14 cards. If you have completed BRM include 2x Flamewaker. 2x Mirror Image, 1x Frost Bolt, 2x Mad Scientist, 1x Sorcerer's Apprentice, 2x Unstable Portal, 2 Mirror Entity, 1x Azure Drake, 1x Archmage Antonidas. Other things to consider; Remove another Polymorph, Effigy, a Flamecannon, and/or Sludge Belcher and then replace them with 2x Arcane Missile, 2x Water Elemental. Of course you're free to experiment, the meta changes every day so decks shuffle around all the time in the ranking.
  21. Most of you will never know the true pain of dealing with the USPTO and courts when dealing with big companies like this. Count yourselves lucky that you don't have to see or hear the amount of BS that goes on. So the result doesn't surprise me much.
  22. Well, I keep hearing Ed mention them so I would like to try it seeing as I don't have a wired mouse; I have a g602, so that would be an interesting comparison. Plus, if past experience is anything to go by, I'll probably run into some issue in setting up my next comp with a wireless mouse...
  23. Stay healthy. I don't need the card, but I probably wouldn't say no if offered one. Cheers and good luck to the rest of you!
  24. This is announced and I still haven't beaten my Long War campaign. I am looking forward to more mod support, setting up some of the mods can be a little intimidating for first time users.
  25. Because regardless of what you and other conspiracy theorists might believe, working at EA doesn't make someone inherently evil.
