So I started working at the library recently (two months ago) as patron tech support, meaning that I help people with random issues they have with our public-use computers and book check-in/out systems. I have witnessed: A lady sending ~15 copies of an 8-page email about cats to our print server A number of people who literally took the book's barcode and rubbed it against the touchscreen check-out station, when there's a laser right below it?!? Someone on the computer literally screaming "BUS DIRECTIONS" at the computer expecting it to load the city's transit website... A person tried to fix a paper jam on our printer. By taking out all the paper and expecting it to print again.

i didn't like the 3x3 seating on the A320 because I had to climb over two people to get to the toilet the E190 is a lot better in terms of that

Automobile ZFs are traditional autos (we have one on our Mercedes). I was talking about the ZF Ecomat (which is a rapid-transit bus transmission). Sorry for not making that clear. ://

Anyone have experience with ZF transmissions? I rode in a bus with one the other day, they sound good but really 'kick' when changing gears, since it's essentially a manual transmission with a computer controlling the gears (no torque converter etc).

when you board the train and some preacher begins a homophobic anti-everything-in-the-world rant and the next stop is 4 minutes away it got so painful i had to get up and cross over to the next car

Ah, that makes more sense. Here in NYC, our older buses require you to actually push on the marking (which hides an electromagnetic tape), while the newer buses have a motion sensor that simulates the electromagnetic tape. I try to manually force the door open if I'm the only one getting off at the stop, so that the door slams behind me, instead of the driver waiting for the door to electronically close.

Some kid went Super Saiyan on the power button when his computer wouldn't turn on in school...poor thing. Also, again going slightly off topic, but our buses (anyone who lives in a major city knows) have a passenger-operated exit door where you place your hand on a marked area on the door pane and a motion sensor will detect it and open the door, I see people punching, pushing, kicking the living shit out of the door and I'm just sitting there like.... WHY?

since there were service reroutes on the train today, i left 15 minutes early (since I had to take the train one stop backwards to get the train I needed, since it was running express), and showed up for my exam 35 minutes early. wandering around like an idiot for 35 minutes does crazy things to your brain

If you press hard enough the mark may become permanent, but normally it goes away within 5 minutes or so. You should still avoid pressing on the panel in the first place.

Not exactly tech in the sense that we think of it but I saw an elderly lady on the bus insert her farecard into the farebox slot upside-down and backwards, holding up the boarding line for about 40 seconds before the driver gave up and did it for her. How hard is it to understand the instructions on this?
