No. No, no, no. VA is not like IPS at all. PLS, however, is. VA is a completely different methodology at displaying an image, and does not have the accuracy of an IPS. It does have deeper blacks, though.
 
Get a U2414H. You'll love them. I do. I couldn't stand the VA panel I used to have.

Well, I for one doesn't mind at all, so you won't need to buy certain parts of a specific model from a certain brand because you want certain color schemes, just light everything up with whatever color you want.

Conveniently enough, I have some screens for you. Here's the difference in score between my stock, 1.5, and 1.55 clocks. My 1.6 OC failed because my room is currently 89F. I'll run it again once my room cools down to 80F.

As you can see, it's a pretty large difference. And lol @ my crashed driver at 1.6. Just tried and it'll still run Bioshock Infinite and Skyrim, it just can't do a benchmark with these ambients.

Who on earth actually expects a card to last five years? I'm sure even my 980TI won't be all that good in a few years. I'd just buy a 970 and use the saved money to buy another card at that price slot in two years. Plus you could sell the first card for ~ 1/2 what you paid for it.

Okay, sorry, I'm just used to lazy idiots starting these threads. I love my G1 for a lot of reasons. Some applicable in general, some not.
 
1. Golden Chip. Gotta love those. That's luck though. The rest will apply to you.
2. Power delivery on the G1 is top notch. The PCB is gorgeous, and it has a solid backplate. The Classy is similar in this, though it does have unlocked voltage unlike the G1.
3. The cooler for the G1 is probably the best around. Far better on air than the Classy, though the Classy would do far better under water.
4. The coloring though.
5. They are binned, and I've yet to hear of a chip not at least making stock 1200MHz. Mine does around 1600MHz.
6. Coil whine might be an issue, mine has none, and it's silent up to 75% fan speed.
 
I love my G1.

I have an H60 from release week that's been running since then. It's not in my main, but it's chugging along just fine in my file server.

Just get the G1 and don't overthink it. You'll be glad you did. 

My G1 has no issues at all. No coil whine or whatever else. I don't care if it has a lower base clock, it definitely OCs just fine.

Because you have more of an actual idle and less background tasks? Because you turned the AC on? There's lots of reasons.
