  1. The Wacom Cintiq is the most directly comparable drawing product, it is ~$2300 and is only a display (and drawing interface obviously) and not a full computer. So all in all not a bad up-charge for a 28" touch/pen interface. The Wacom is only QHD too, but has better pen sensitivity, so there is that too, but it is the most comparable option I can find. http://www.wacom.com/en-us/products/cintiq-27-qhd-touch#Specifications
  2. http://www.kotaku.co.uk/2016/09/23/inside-the-troubled-development-of-star-citizen Did anyone else read through this? I thought it was well researched and a fascinating look inside the development process. Nothing particularly new to anyone who is following the dev of this game but I feel like it filled in a lot of the detail surrounding the troubles they have had. The stuff about iilfonic's assets all being the wrong scale was interesting. Overall I am not particularly worried about the game not getting finished, and this article did nothing to push me in either direction but it was captivating read.
  3. You have to go SFX but I have had an RVZ-01 for the past 2 years for my Steam Machine and it has worked great. They have a less "exxtreeem" looking case too that came out after I already purchased this one. They have also since released a V 2.0 (RVZ02) and an Extended (RVZ01-E) version with full PSU Compatibility, but you lose the 3.5" drive spot. http://www.silverstonetek.com/raven/products/index.php?model=RVZ01&area=en&top=C More Minimalist version: http://www.silverstonetek.com/product.php?pid=533&area=en
  4. Honestly though this is why I like CS:GO so much more than something like TF2 or LoL. I can play the game without the investment in time or money and be on the same level as my opponents mechanically (though in my experience not even close when it comes to skill level).
  5. I agree, but I think for the PU That is by design. The in universe engine needs to be somewhat bland and cliche, as it is being scored proceedurally and will be very repetitive over long play sessions. For example the background music in The Witcher 3 has one theme that sticks in my head and that I liked initially, but as I wondered around the world for 20+ hours it started to grate. This is why I think PU music should be less memorable and more cliche while still adding to any individual moment, it is a tough balance to land on. My fear is that trend will bleed into SQ42. I think the core of what Pedro has created has the potential for some really memorable themes and moments, so we will see if they can execute that when Episode 1 comes out.
  6. I also recently got a 1070 and wanted to put it to work, so I picked this up on sale. I have only played about an hour or so, but what I have played has been fun-ish and very pretty. I think once I get the combat down a little more it will be fun, but I am having trouble fighting and controlling the camera. Overall I would say it was worth it so far. I am excited to see where the story goes, and I have not seen a prettier game. That said it is only on sale because the Game of the Year edition will be coming out at the end of the month. So if you plan on purchasing the DLC it might be a good idea to wait. 2 things I did accidentally due to learning the controls/Game BBQ'd a Cat I was trying to befriend Won a fight against some wolves while standing in toxic gas, now my quick save spawns me into instant death.
  7. I will be glad to be proven wrong by this, but I think you are being over optimistic on the MMO Beta part. Late 2017 early 2018 is what I am guessing. It is hard because of the "exponential" nature of development, but one thing CIG has been really good about is sorting out the game/experience breaking bugs and holding back features until they are actually "ready". This is commendable, and has made it a fairly painless Alpha phase, but I think this also means we can expect a couple unforeseen things to hold something as complex as the MMO portion back a little more. That said I think SQ42 will roll out as expected.
  8. I believe they changed it so you have to do it in game now. Walk to where you want it now and there is a little HUD icon on the floor. Select it, and place your ship. It is about as user friendly as a wood-chipper full of angry badgers, but it is just their first pass at an in game Hanger Management system. It will get better over time. Side note this same system is how you can change load-outs on your ship in the PU on the fly. So for that it works much better.
  9. Question about the mixed metal water blocks. Does the water contact the mixed metals? it looks from this angle like the aluminum portions of the block are transferring heat via contact with the copper not the water. But I can't tell from here.
  10. I have an all logitech setup currently, Orion 810, G700 and G920. They all work well enough, but nothing has that premium feel. Also at work I am using all 5+ year old Microsoft peripherals.
  11. In response to your recent Intel unboxing, maybe an in depth Conflict Free Electronics episode would be cool
  12. I have a GTX 760 in my Steam Machine, getting a VR Ready GPU so I can demo VR in my livingroom without hauling out my main rig would be awesome.
  13. I have an SC 1070 and although I lke the design of most of the cooler, I have a white and black build so it fits pretty well. I do understand peoples disdain, so many cards designs just look so "Xtreem" in the worst sense of the (not) word, and EVGA moving in that direction when in the past they have been one of the few sane looking cards is discouraging. That said compared to Strix or Gigabyte this cooler is much more reserved IMHO.
  14. I upgraded yesterday from an HD 7770 to a GTX 1070!!!! I am Sooooo happy with the results.
  15. I ordered one of these because it was on the only card I could find In Stock that wasn't a reference cooler or grotesquely overpriced. Honestly not to sad about the lack of overclocking, since it so rarely translates to anything meaningful experience wise anyway, and I like the look of the card a lot. That said, I have only had the card for 2 days at this point, and I am stepping up from a Radeon HD 7770 so... yeah. Just out of curiosity has anyone found any 1070's in stock for less than $430?
