Thank you for clarifying, has given me a strong sense of relief. And yes, I get very paranoid about this sort of stuff. I am diagnosed with OCD so that is probably why.

It's the sound of a relay switching when you shut down the system. It's normal, they all do it. My RM750x makes the same noise when I shut down the system as well.

Sounds like my monitor's behavior is normal then?
 
As tempting as it is to want to return my monitor for an IPS panel with a high refresh rate, I don't have the money to spend on that as it would be a lot more exspensive.

Thanks you for your replies @Slottr and @TVwazhere. I ended up going with the NZXT H700, without the smart technology of the i version of it.
