bad idea imo. Liquid metal contains Gallium (a significant portion of it actually), which forms alloy with Copper but not Nickel (material of the surface of stock IHS). This alloy has poor thermal conductivity and potentailly brittle (many other Gallium alloys are), so it might break or worsen your thermals.

Stock IHS isnt bad either. It's nickel-plated copper, so it's nearly as good in performance as copper-only IHS

Basically there's no advantage to messing with the IHS at all.  Lapping it, machining it, replacing it with silver, etc.    You get more out of replacing your waterblock's mounting springs with stronger ones, to ensure high mounting/contact pressure.

Is not that dumb. If you'll reinstall or install windows into another drive some day, then you want probably have all your programs ready to run. For great number of programs it will work - many programs don't really need installation. For some - it will be impossible without copying registry key to new system (and for few - it will be too difficult to find all that keys they created). But main problem is that data folder is located on your C drive anyway - so all configuration of your programs will be stored on C.

Solution may be to find portable versions of program that you want to use on second drive.

I remember Gamers Nexus doing a video on something similair to this, and remember the temperature difference being negligible at around 2-3 degrees.

Hooray for Microsoft improving our daily lives with new improved tortures!
Now let's see what they can cook up for next bigger Windows patch...
I mean sounds stopping working for some users is getting such old fashioned.

    No. 4C/8T is the maximum. LGA1366, LGA2011, LGA2011-3 and LGA1151v2 support 6-core chips.

The best possible CPU for the LGA 1150 is still a quadcore, the i7 5775C

Most 1156 motherboards don't list Xeons as compatible but they usually work anyway. For the best overclocking capabilities, grab a P55 board.
