You have a 5600 and an Asus TUF Gaming B550. It makes no sense to go to the next generation with the parts you picked. I would focus on other things instead, like maybe more RAM or storage if needed. If you are gaming, you are not going to notice much if any performance increase with the RX 6600 that you have.

Definitely save up then, A boards are so barren its ridiculous

B650 boards have way more features, more stable and will have better support for more power hungry CPU's in future

No generally not worth going for the A boards, this B650 is phenomenal for the price^

8GB RAM won't cut it at all.

GPU is okay, CPU okay.  not sure on motherboard.  But that RAM needs to be 16GB, and what is the storage?

You can look up the board and see what CPUs it supports.

Dedayog reacted to filpo in rtx 2060 worth it in 2024 for esports gaming?
Definitely, 2060 is still a quite decent card. Even 1050 ti's can handle esports gaming so 2060 should be great at it

    Here's a 1050 ti in esports
    Valorant

    CS2

Fortnite (this is with a 3600x which is a bit better than the 4770 and fortnite is quite a cpu intensive game when you turn up the view distance, here it's at medium)

Probably around $250.  Good base for adding a GPU to.  No fucking clue why that PSU is in it.  I'd use that in another build, personally.

There are certainly boards with more then 4 SATA ports. The Asrock Z690 Pro RS is a relatively cheap one that has 8 SATA ports, and one is only disabled if you use the second M.2 slot. The top one is totally fine to use while still having all 8 SATA ports.

With that said, I disagree with your assessment of the situation. A SATA port on a motherboard can fail just like it can on an add-in card. The advantage of an add-in card is that it's way cheaper than a motherboard, so if it fails, it's much easier to replace.

However, you do you. If you prefer a one piece solution, have at it. There are certainly options.

Dedayog reacted to GuiltySpark_ in Targus is trying to imitate the LTT color scheme
I think that's what you might think being familiar with LTT but there is no evidence to support this. IMO the vast majority of people looking to buy a backpack at a big box store will have no idea what or who LTT is.

Dedayog reacted to Lurick in Targus is trying to imitate the LTT color scheme
So they have a trim of orange colors and suddenly it's LTT imitation?
That's not what that is, that's them using colors is not copying LTT in the slightest.
If they tried to put LTT logos and stuff on there that's a completely different story but it's a black bag with a bit of orange accents. The inside isn't even completely orange.

Dedayog reacted to Alex Atkin UK in X86 needs to die.
Just skimmed the start of the video and its worth noting they don't seem to be saying X86_64 needs to die, they are saying "legacy" hardware in the CPU needs to be removed, such as 8086 compatibility.

This likely is going to happen, they already do this on game consoles to save silicon space.  Intel have even mentioned removing some legacy silicon (real 32bit mode, which we don't need as 32bit software these days runs in 32bit compatibility mode which is part of x86_64).

Bottom line, it can be done, it has been done, Linux on the PS4 for example had to be changed to handle the lack of this legacy hardware.

[note]  Amusingly neither the article or video is actually discussing this, the article goes completely off on a tangent about things the author did not understand and that is what the video actually discusses.

You could spend half this and see no difference in the games you listed while still having a good looking system.  Getting hyper specific on the visual stuff will gouge you and won’t be THAT cool to you for very long.  Eventually it just fades into the background no matter how much you spend.  €90 for a 3 pack of fans is just insane.  You also only need 4, as you want more intake than exhaust, and the open top will allow heat out naturally.

The GPU has a white backplate so that’s all you’ll see.

Dedayog reacted to podkall in 5600X and DDR4 in 2024? and Thoughts on PSU
depends if you need the upgrade, but it's a good upgrade more or less, the 5600 has nice single core performance and good amount of cores and threads for various tasks and games,

I have 5600 and I've upgraded from my quad cores 1200 Ryzen, and I can't get enough of it, it's quite good at keeping up generally, doesn't really care if you have 3 or 8 background apps running while playing games, etc.
