Dont give empty blank checks to a rando on the internet. How much are you willing to spend? And also, what specific games and also your resolution/framerate target in those titles?

Hey there! I'll start off with some questions:
Would you mind posting which PSU you're going with? Will you be buying additional case fans if the case lacks it, or are you going with what's already included with the case? Any preference for case colors and/or accent colors?
    As for some recommendations...
Fractal Design Meshify C ($89.99 on Newegg): Good airflow but only has 2 x 120mm, options for TG (black & white cases) or Dark TG (black cases only) panels, PSU is hidden. Corsair Carbide 275R ($79.99 on Newegg): Good airflow but only has 2 x 120mm fans, TG panel (but very fragile!), PSU is hidden. DIYPC Trio-GT-RGB ($69.99 on Newegg): Good airflow with 4 x 120mm fans (RGB fans, if that matters to you), TG panels on 3 sides (front, left, and right), and PSU is covered from the top but visible on the sides. (I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post links to other merchants, being new here and all.)

As always, be sure to check case specs for any clearance issues. Also note that I've listed discounted prices above, I'm not sure how long they'll be on sale for.

    I think you're in need of a Meshify C.

From what I hear the heresy is a cleaner in numbers more clinical amp similar if not the same sounding as the atom. while the 3+ has worse numbers but warmer sounding. Otherwise both are pretty good pick the one that appeals to your tastes. As the numbers on the 3+are pretty good as well.

Worst comes to worse, you can pawn off the 2070 Super to pay for a new card. Especially if you went with a company that has a "warranty stays with the product, not the person" policy like EVGA, which means you could pawn it off for a higher price than normal.

then you should be set. if you take out the psu from my build, you're down to 1500. also, you might want to check clearences between ram and cooler. the cooler is pretty large and overhangs over the ram slots. might be smarter to go with the Noctua NH-U12S instead.

not sure whether you have case, storage and psu already.
3800x is just a factory overclocked 3700x. no point in getting it.

CoutoSH reacted to Dedayog in Upgrading worth it or should I wait?
I wouldn't upgrade, and definitely not the motherboard.  No increase in performance with a motherboard purchase, it's a foundation for the other parts only.

Look at AMD's new stuff, if you need CPU horsepower like you say.  Their CPUs are inexpensive for all the cores/threads you may need.  Otherwise just wait til next year to see what Intel's 10nm and AMD's Zen 2+-^&(*^*R$$^ (their naming scheme is so fucking stupid) are like.

basically, skip this generation unless you music production needs grow.

What will the 3800X do for you the 3700X won't?  Or are you caught up in higher number = better?

Na even with Amd's so called "binning" i would pick a 3700X over a 3800X heck save the extra on a cooler or a better board or faster memory(will matter way more).

Edit please note i own a 3700x haha

so i live in the middle of nowhere. cant get a decent hard wired internet connection where i live. so i have a Netgear NightHawk mobile hotspot as my main connection.

i was having a problem with it getting really hot and throttling my speeds to basically unusable, so i cobbled a cooler together.

i ordered some cheap little aluminum heatsinks on aliexpress and cannibalized a case fan and a USB charging cable to make this monstrosity.

    it works.

Ok thanks then yeah Ryzen will be a massive upgrade for you.

Like i said value wise its not worth it for you to upgrade to a 2060RTX. Getting a 3600 and just keep the stock cooler and you will love it, make sure to get 3000mhz+ memory.

The B450 Aorus Pro has the same VRM as the X470 Aorus Ultra. The X470 would probably have more overclocking features to mess around with compared to a B450. But if all you care about is how strong the VRM is, get the B450 Aorus Pro.
