StarfleetCap got a reaction from J.b091 in What do people hate about Apple?
We all hate apple because we know their pcs are piece of plastic with some silicone.
-
StarfleetCap reacted to Sakkura in Why are the 980ti more expensive than the 1080ti?
They do. The only reason there are even a handful of 980 Ti's left on shelves is that very few people buy them now. The card has been out of production for a long time.

StarfleetCap reacted to KarathKasun in Pentium machine not able to cope up at 70%cpu usage in idle
Go grab W10 home from Microsofts site. You can install and use without a key. Only limitation is that customizing the desktop/fonts/etc is disabled after 30 days or so.
If it is still slow, the HDD is likely dying.

StarfleetCap reacted to Crunchy Dragon in How much is this Worth?
Ryrzen 5 is a cheaper and better option than the 7600K.
EDIT: Also bear in mind that the 7600K was never really that good of a chip, and is a couple years old at this point.

Dude, your pc is gonna be high end if this continues. 8700k is already in the "high" tier in consumer cpu market.

StarfleetCap reacted to GOD MAN in GTX 1060 or RX 580
wait what ? RX 580 is on par with gtx 1070??
Isn't rx 580 close to gtx 1060
Or am I getting it wrong?
-
StarfleetCap got a reaction from slysnake96 in Is this a "good" Mid level gaming system
I agree, even with 2 1070 ti, it doesn't need over 800-900 watts.

StarfleetCap reacted to slysnake96 in Is this a "good" Mid level gaming system
The GPU i already have in my current setup and i need the extra cores more due to streaming etc
-
StarfleetCap got a reaction from slysnake96 in Is this a "good" Mid level gaming system
No, i5 8600k doesn't have hyperthreading (doubling the logical cores) while 8700k does. But most games doesn't use more than 2 cores, I guess thats true.

StarfleetCap got a reaction from slysnake96 in Is this a "good" Mid level gaming system
Ok, than you can upgrade the gpu later or wait a bit more.

StarfleetCap reacted to Spotty in Is this a "good" Mid level gaming system
How many graphics cards are you planning on powering that you need a 1050W PSU?
Swap that for a good quality 550W.
Grab an 8600k instead and save some money. 1060 6GB is going to be plenty in those for 1080p gaming at 60/75fps. I wouldn't bother spending more on a better GPU if you're not planning on changing your monitor.
Wait...
Bit late to be asking for advice now, isn't it?

StarfleetCap reacted to Spudbilly in I think my cpu is broken... help
I would clear cmos and then use asus's proprietary bios flash tool via usb. If that fails then yes you might have messed something up. My quick googling told me that some svid setting slong with adaptive voltages etc can make the voltages go too high. What were your last known voltages and clocks etc..?

StarfleetCap reacted to SimplyChunk in GTA 5 CPU Usage?
Go into an invite only session (if you're online). Then take one of your cars and go to the lago zancudo facility location. drive down to it from the road and behind you'll find two trees. Park your car between them and spin your camera around a full 360 a couple of times with vsync on. If you're getting dips when the camera passes north (towards chiliad-ish way) then adjust your settings down until you don't. 99.9% of your dips will be gone then

StarfleetCap got a reaction from Mr. Mantis in GTA 5 CPU Usage?
I think it's the limit of a 1060. I wouldn't worry that much about it.

StarfleetCap got a reaction from Lovepreet in PC build
Yeah you could get an i3 hyperthreading or i5 7600 or something like that. You could also maybe overclock your ram but I dont know if that mobo allows overclocking. And the hdd might be too slow.
