The advantage is technically better but due to worse thermals it is not. So the zephyrus is the better laptops.

HOWEVER the zephyrus IS NOT the best laptop you can get for that price.

The lenovo legion 5 and legion 7 (the 7 being one the the only thinner laptops that can cool a 3080 effectively without losing performance) lineup is very competitive here. But sadly I cannot find them in stock with the desired specs.

Also just a heads up the 5900h(s) is barely 2% faster than the 5800h so when shopping don't go for it because it has a higher number as it's well basically margin or error better.

reds are linear and non-clicky switches with a low weight so they are mostly designed that way.

So it seems like you would like to have some blue switches or other clicky switches.  There are brands other than mx cherry that make quite good switches so don't turn them down if you ever find a keyboard with a good feeling that doesn't have genuine cherry switches.  i would just say maybe don't get outemu switches as they are not reputed to have the best quality ... but maybe you would like their blue since they are quite heavy and fkng loud.

I would say the reds are too soft and not as “clicky” as the razor ornata chroma. I have a micro center nearby with a good return policy

In my opinion, this is a massively personal thing.  Recommending a keyboard won't give you the experience you need to say whether you like it or not.
If you can't go to a store to try out a potential keyboard, I'd buy from a place that has a good return policy.  You could be trying and returning until you find what you like.

That said, what is wrong with the reds?  Too firm, not enough?

Key switch preference is a very personal thing, I love cherry MX browns, my brother loves MX blues. So it really comes down to what you like, best way is to try different keyboards out, but that might be hard to do at this time.

It absolutely would not bottleneck a 2080. Not even close. It comes within 5% or less of the 9600K and maintains high framerates. Here's some data:

Furthermore, look here. The 8400 (which is slightly slower than the 9400F) is almost on par with an 8700K in average gaming using 15 games (source PC Gamer) and the 1080 Ti which is equivalent to an RTX 2080:

The board is still getting use in that it's allowing the 3000MHz RAM to run at 3000MHz instead of 2666MHz, which can increase FPS by up to 16% depending on the title (see second video above). Plus it allows for an upgrade path to the 9700K or 9900K or possibly Comet Lake CPUs (unknown right now).

I mean, yes, it is a good deal for what it is. You are, however, paying a lot of aesthetics. For that same money you could build something with more gaming horsepower and double the SSD storage like this:

Honestly that's a pretty good deal, iI'd say it's more than reasonable. Especially because your paying build it yourself prices but getting custom watercooling too. I say go for it.

$1400 USD for that is pretty good. Building your own would land you around the same price, give or take $100. It should do everything you're looking at doing as long as you don't slap a 4k monitor on top of it.

i have a 8700k, im using OBS screen recording while streaming to twitch playing gtav, using a rx470, im having no issues and staying at 60fps. a 8700k can do all of this, anyone want proof i have obs recordings to show it, with cpuz running.

also i might add, im using a h100iv2 for my cpu and staying in the 50's while doing this according to CAM. This cpu does run hot i have noticed and thaught something was wrong myself. Upon over clocking, itruns 5-8 degrees cooler on idle and load overclocked.

The 8700k can stream fine, but the 2700x streams significantly better. I was stuck on this decision myself, I went 2700x and haven't looked back. This graph represents percentile of frames lost (the closer to 100% the better). The 2700x is always in the lead, and capable of medium preset encoding. The 8700k can't even touch medium, unless you OC to a minimum of 5ghz, which you'll need an extremely powerful cooler because the 8700k is one of the hottest cpus on the market. However, these numbers can be achieved with the 2700x stock Wraith Prism cooler.
As for FPS, unless you're playing with something like a 1080ti at an absurdly low resolution/setting, both of these CPUs will be within 5% of the FPS of each other. Each will have it's wins. 2700x all the way, much better value.

Go 2700X then, if you do record as well, then it is a better deal and all. Besides, if you get the 2700X, you shouldn't need to buy an extra cooler as the Wraith MAX/whatever box cooler is pretty darn great!

Why? The i7 8700K now destroys the Ryzen 7 line up at video editing thanks to the last update to allow iGPU acceleration:

Now the i7 8700K is better for both gaming and content creation, QuickSync which also uses the iGPU makes streaming more than doable, while I have greater hope for Intel's 10nm which will be supported by this chipset than Ryzen 2.

Well this is my 2 cents, I'd go with the i7 8700K between the two.

I'd say the 8700K. Ryzen 7 isn't a great value because the 8700K kicks its ass in gaming and holds its own or beats in Adobe shit when it comes to productivity

Most people won't be working with 4K resolutions. Capture cards are mostly 1080p where Quicksync does NOT make too much of a difference.
Either way, both are good options. I would go with the 2700X because I work with 1080p footage which Ryzen beats Intel in, but if you plan to work with 4K footage, 8700K is the way to go.

Get the 2700x it can game well and stream, (though not as well as the 8700k if course) but with a 1070 you should not notice any loss in performance.
