Between Ghosts and Advanced Warfare, get Advanced Warfare. It had a more memorable single player campaign and I think it had a pretty good multiplayer following, if anyone's still playing it.

So I have only run a couple games so far. Ones that I remember testing before and I'm shocked. If you have bad eyes and take your glasses off it's like putting them on after a year without them. It's like what app for that said. Everything is clearer and shit just looks better. Shadows aren't screwed up, buildings don't have lines, there isn't a LOD box that follows you. I will post pics and videos as soon as I can. But trust me it's big. I can also see where some are getting confused with just how the game is and the problems. It's looking promising!!!!

***PLEASE READ ENTIRE OP BEFORE POSTING***

    Edited by: @MEC-777

The issues being discussed in this thread are a continuation of multiple threads come and gone over the last year or so. Please read this post CAREFULLY in it's entirety BEFORE replying, to avoid re-hashing the same thing over and over.

    Description of the Problems/Issues:
A significant number of PC gamers have reported experiencing some or all of the following graphical issues after changing nothing with their system. Everything looked "fine" one day and "terrible" the next. The difference or change was/is drastic and disruptive enough to notice beyond what is normally accepted as "typical graphical anomalies" observed in various games.

-Most or all forms of AA filtering broken or non-effective.
    -Increased texture, shadow pop-in, Z-fighting.
    -Shadows appear more jagged.
-Increased "flickering" on high-detailed objects (due to poor/broken AA filtering) - "dancing white dots" during movement.
-General decrease in LOD in all games (new and old).

PLEASE NOTE: These issue go beyond typical and commonly known graphical issues with certain games. Example: GTA5 - LOD box definition, object pop-in, Minecraft - anisotropic filtering bug etc. The specific issues in question also go beyond the results of low detail settings and or low PPI displays and any combination there of. The issue is: specific aspects of how the image is rendered has changed from a higher to [much] lower quality, without having changed anything (to the user's knowledge), seemingly "overnight".

ALSO NOTE: These issues have been observed on Intel and AMD (FM2+ and AM3+ or older)-based systems, running both Nvidia and AMD GPUs. It has also been primarily observed on systems running Windows.

Here is an example of the difference. Both videos are running the same game on the same display with the same resolution and graphics settings. @BuckGup first noticed the excessive jaggies in the menu of this game one day, and that was the first tip-off that something had changed (went wrong), even though he did not change anything prior to this happening. This also serves to demonstrate that as far as we know, the problem is fixed after switching to the AMD Ryzen platform. <--- NOTE: some members have now reported that switching to a Ryzen-based system DID NOT fix the issue. Thus, we can only state that this is an inconclusive solution.

    After the problem occurred:

Before the problem occurred - the way the game SHOULD look:

Solution that have been attempted but did not fix the issue:
-Swapping out every component in the PC (one at a time and all together).
    -Reformat and clean OS install.
-Switching from AMD to Nvidia and reverse.
    -Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10.
-Running DDU with clean driver installation.

In *some* instances, swapping out components from one system (with the problem) to another system (without the problem), the issue was gone.  ***Details on this to be updated shortly***

Solutions we know have ZERO effect on the issue or are unrelated:
-"Dirty power" or power-related. By the very nature of how a GPU functions and given the multiple "power-cleaning and conditioning" stages before it reaches the PC and GPU (PSU, VRMs etc), it's simply not possible for this issue to be caused by "dirty" or "infected" power source. So please do not suggest it.
-Running games at lower settings and/or on lower PPI (lower pixel density) displays. We all know games look worse in those conditions. That is NOT what this issue is about. Please see the notes already stated above to reiterate. The issue is about an instant decrease in graphical fidelity without having changed anything (settings/software or hardware) with the system.
-Virus or software "infection" of some kind. If this were the case, a simple wipe or swapping out of the storage drive(s) and clean OS install would fix the issue - but that has not been the case. So it seems; once the issue is there, it is extremely difficult to fix, aside from taking drastic measures.

Possible solutions that have yet to be confirmed:
-In *some* cases, building an entirely new system fixed the issue. In *some* cases, this fixed the issue, but only temporarily.
-One member  Now two(2) members here on the forums upgraded to AMD's new Ryzen platform and observed nearly all these issues were resolved. 2 members involved in this thread who have both experienced these issues are in the process of testing with a Ryzen based system to see if this holds merit. Further testing in progress...
Update: Some members have reported that Ryzen systems are still susceptible to these issues. So the verdict on Ryzen systems being a possible solution is inconclusive at this point (July 2019).

PLEASE: Do not suggest solutions that have already been attempted or that we know are unrelated, unless you have something new to bring forward that we might have overlooked.

If you have any new information or corrections to the above information, please send me a PM and I will update. If you don't believe this issue is real or exists, and you have nothing to contribute, then please refrain from posting.

My two cents on this whole situation: At first I was very skeptical. I said "this is just low PPI, low settings, typical game issues with AA etc...". In some specific cases, it was. But there were enough people complaining about this and describing what happened in the same way (there are many more on other threads on other forums), that it made me take notice. It's not about the "graphics" but the "sudden change in graphics" - regrettably and honestly, it took me a while to realize that is what they were really talking about and trying to fix. I personally have not experienced these issues, but I am genuinely curious to see if a solution can be found for those who are stuck with this.

    Thanks for reading.

Thanks Asus... So Asus has a thing called Asus Probe that automatically downloads and verifies if your windows key and motherboard are valid and if you swap motherboards it simply will not let you boot. It blue screens instantly and gives the error of the probe failing. So I had to find a windows laptop to create a USB with windows on it, which took way too long, then I was able to install windows on a spare HDD. So the test will be slightly different. Everything is the same except CPU, MOBO, and now the drive containing windows and a fresh install of windows and nvidia drivers. So this is the BEST possible chance we have if it is simply a problem with a borked windows file or settings that got changed. I will record non stop when opening games and running benchmarks to make sure I document EVERYTHING.

jesus, same people again and again.yes this is a problem so stop saying same things in every 2,3 pages.if you have no solution then you have no reason to be here.as i said before its not us,its the hardware.i have played in a shityy pc in shitty resolution but this problem didnt exist.it was crystal clear.

So I just wanted to say thanks to everyone here who helped me figure out my build, I started with the i7 7700k and my GTX 1070 and I ended on a R5 1600 with the 1070 and I could not be happier ( it's all about the 1 percent frames for me). I play mostly MMOs and ARPGs and switching not only improved fps in clustered player areas but my thermals are also well under control (3.95ghz @ 1.35v. 58c max under prime 95 small ffts vs 94c on the i7) I know the i7 gives better overall fps but in my situation even at 5.0ghz it choked in some games. Strangely I went to a higher end b350 board vs x370 due to availability and price and I gotta say the MSI b350 gaming pro carbon was solid out of the box and even better after bios update. Long story short, don't be afraid of ryzen it really is solid stuff if combined correctly.

Well here I am, finally joining in after dealing with this for months and lurking for just as long! I'm going to be building a Ryzen 1600 system here soon but I'll most likely be installing my current 1060. If lordante's build takes care of this issue though I may have to spring for another gpu in fear that it may transfer over somehow...It's a shame that I even have to think that way honestly =\ I'm hoping though that some of what I'm seeing currently may be due to my resolution/ppi? The only screens I currently have are my 32" Samsung tv (1360x768) and a 19"ish HP (1440x900). I only started noticing the flickering/crawling edges since I added a 1060 and new psu to my prebuilt (H50-55 90BG) but after switching back to just the A10-7800 the problems are still there. On either screen when I get up close enough it really does look like there's just not enough pixels to evenly distribute the crawling lines onto so I still have a (slight) bit of hope that it may be resolution related but after reading through almost every thread on the subject I'm thinking I may just be a victim of whatever this is too. Eagerly awaiting lordante's results!

If you need to talk to someone. You can try 7 Cups of Tea. It's free and has mobile apps for both iOS and Android. Also for anonymity's sake, use a VPN given how the Turkish government at the moment is not a fan of free speech nor secularism.

So not only did I get my named changed a week ago, but my voice is dropping nicely and my chin stubble is so fun to play with. I'm beginning to feel more comfortable in my skin and it's great. Now to get some nice looking business casual boots, some everyday wear boots, and some insoles that will make me appear taller, because while being 5'7" and most of my male friends somewhere in the 5'10"-6'2" range makes me feel too short lmao.

Then how do you explain the LOD problem just for shadow quality in games across the board and the shimmering look that makes it look like you are looking through a screen door? If you turn off all AA and FX processing it looks worse, how it should, but the problem still exists even with things downscaled from 8K with 200% frame scaling. If it was simply AA brute forcing the res and downscaling would make the issue less prominent but it has no effect

Before this problem started occurring for me, I never had to force any AA through NVCP or SweetFx etc but my games still looked great... Since the problem started occuring, not even forcing multiple different methods of AA through software has helped. I still get extreme amounts of jaggies and aliasing even when forcing high levels of AA. If you were to stand next to my PC and look at every game I opened, You would then understand what we are seeing.

People have already gone one by one swapping components, reinstalling OSes, changing OSes, building new PCs, changing UPSes, changing breakers in houses, changing from nvidia to AMD, changing control panel settings, changing game settings, flashing firmware, and still nothing has worked accept users who previously had the problem who swapped to Ryzen have noticed the issue is gone. If you actually spent the time to read through this thread or the one on the nvidia forum, or intel, or AMD, or anand tech, or toms hardware. You would realize people have done just about everything with every piece of hardware on the market. I doubted the issue was a thing when I first heard about it over a year ago. Then one day it started and I stopped calling the people crazy. When you get it you will see
