Both - We can force the check for every session, or it can be set to only do it if the risk score is high enough, which will prompt a JS or CAPTCHA check.

Will LTT Labs review Budget/Mid Budget 4K HDR tvs?
AJJaxNet replied to BaidDSB's topic in General Discussion
Labs badge would be even better -
Hi everyone, We're aware of the slowdowns, and we're looking into it. We have ideas of what's going on, but it might take some time in order to fix it. Hopefully we can apply some mitigations today to make things a little better while we work on making things as fast (or faster) than before the migration.

Thank you! We just couldn't refuse when you said that we would be paid with a Non-Fungible Tech Tips. Also, thank you for keeping this forum safe and alive for the community!

Several bugs and issues after the latest forum update
AJJaxNet replied to BondiBlue's topic in Forum Bugs and Issues
We've pushed a patch that we believe should fix the issue, could you check if it still does this for you? -
We've fixed the "new badge" taking so much space on mobile, it should be much more reasonable now. Also, I don't believe will be making new tweaks to the mobile layout at this time.

Badges do not link from user's profile page
AJJaxNet replied to WhitetailAni's topic in Forum Bugs and Issues
It's not actually a bug either - The reason you can't click on the rank to go to that page is that that user doesn't actually have any badge, so it doesn't display the actual button that would make you go on the badge section. You can check out my profile to see what I mean. -
This should now be handled correctly - The new member badge now displays on the top right of the user profile now.

This issue is fixed with the new badge location.

Issue/Suggetion related to Member rank icons
AJJaxNet replied to Dominik W's topic in Forum Bugs and Issues
Fixed: That whole "title" section was removed. We're tracking the username being hidden by the badge in another post. -

It's 100% daytime savings issues rn, it should solve itself once your browser and the servers are less confused about what the hell is happening. -
Top Posters/Staff page sorting changed since update
AJJaxNet replied to Spotty's topic in Forum Bugs and Issues
Welp, it's an Invision problem and not something introduced by us. I went and checked https://invisioncommunity.com/staff, and they actually have the same behaviour on their page. Looking at the Wayback machine, there's a 2017 snapshot that shows the staff members in order, so I'm pretty sure we won't try and fix the staff directory and wait for a fix from them (if they even fix it at all). For the top poster bug, I'll still have to look into it. -
Top Posters/Staff page sorting changed since update
AJJaxNet replied to Spotty's topic in Forum Bugs and Issues
Thanks for the report, we'll try to see if we can fix it next week. Are we sure it wasn't like that before the upgrade? This is actually a 100% base/core feature, so I don't believe the behaviour should've changed. -
Hey Everyone, We still haven't decided on what to do with this bug report yet. In one of the updates released by our forum software provider, they yanked the notification sound feature out completely, to leave space to their "new and improved" push notification system, so technically, it's not really a bug. We're looking into the new push notification system to see if it's working as expected, which would actually alleviate the need for a notification sound, since it would be handled at the OS level. We'll keep you guys know of what we decide to do after our testing. Update : Push notifications seems to work fine from my limited experience. Seems like they might not actually work on IOS / Safari so that something to validate. People interested in having notifications should head to https://linustechtips.com/notifications/options/ and click on "Enable push notifications" on the bottom of the page. Don't forget to change your preferences to include the "push" action in each category that you wish to be notified for, else it won't do anything!

Ohhhh, that makes so much sense now why the "New Member" tag was move to the top of the user profile. It was so both could be displayed at the same time. It would make more sense to just hide the rank badge when it's a new member tho. Will see about doing that.

About members section missing from profile
AJJaxNet replied to Spotty's topic in Forum Bugs and Issues
We had to upgrade the forum to a new version that introduced new features. The forum has a lot of custom application, plugins along with a custom theme which all contribute to bugs when new features are introduced. Regarding the bug, we'll be looking into it, but it's most likely related to "Member Titles" which has been sunsetted in the new release. We're looking into migrating them into a profile fields at the start of next week. -
In theory, we should be able to lock an OP from using one of his own post as a solution somewhat easily, but I feel like there is legitimate reasons where a user might want to solve his own post. I've checked and there's no easy way to fix that, unfortunately. What we could do is have a fast archiving policy on that post so test threads just get automatically deleted after 7 days or something, which would remove the solution / post counts from the user stats.
