Quick question: when are you going to have a PC named after the L1011 Tristar? I noticed in your signature you had the DC-10 and a few others, but not the Tristar which really surprised me especially when I came to your profile and saw your cover photo.

Also, why you no Ford Trimotor?

Apparently, EVGA's support & customer care are excellent so I decided to try them!

No, but seriously - I've got terrible luck I guess, I received my new GPU and after two-three days this connector died:

I noticed during playing BF1 that the card was at around 85C (!) when normal gaming temps are around 50C. I immediately turned the game off and went to check if everything was okay through my case window and noticed the radiator fan wasn't spinning. I shut down my PC, decided to try plugging the fan in to my motherboard - turns out the fan is working perfectly so it's the connector that died (I verified by reconnecting it again).

I already contacted EVGA's support to ask for assistance and they responded: "I apologize for the trouble with your card, we can replace it under warranty for this." and instructed me to file an RMA request so I'm waiting for acceptance and I'm going to ship the card to them. Sadly, AFAIK they don't have an office in Poland so I'll probably be forced to send it to EU HQ in Munich, Germany.

That moment when you figure out how to transfer files effectively between a Windows 98 VM and a Windows 10 host:
"YES! I finally got it!", five seconds later: "Why am I messing around with Windows 98 again?"
(Also, if anyone is wondering, I was able to make an empty virtual floppy disk and write what I need to it in 98, then open it up in Windows again and read the data off of that.)

From my testing, the Sony VCT4 is an excellent cell testing against the Sanyo UR18650NSX.

When discharging both cells at 20A continuous, the sanyo cell reached 80C and lost ~100mah of capacity when I recharged the cell. The sony cell reached 60C after the 20A discharge test ended and lost about ~10mah of capacity when retesting the cell. I consider this to be within margin or error, so it effectively lost no capacity.

Keep in mind these are both old, used cells to this data will absolutely vary if testing new cells.

I decided to play a bit of Fortnite today, and here are my thoughts:

    1. Remove shotguns entirely, and it'll make the game more playable.
    2. Have a cooldown for building stuff.

Both of these would make Fortnite an acceptable game in my eyes (although I'd still prefer PUBG).

So far my Mac hunt is not going well. People charge way too much for the Apple logo, I'm tellin' ya...

Found a 2012 Mac Pro(which is actually the kind that I'd want if I was going the Mac Pro route) for $1100.

    Running dual hexacore Xeons, a Radeon HD 7950 3Gb, 24Gb DDR3 memory(expandable to 128Gb).

Essentially, the hardware here isn't really worth more than ~$600. Not sure if the seller knows that, but either way I wouldn't pay more than maybe $700 for a 6 year old computer, even if it does have Apple branding.

The person who's giving it to me says it's 10 years old, so I'm expecting a Core 2 Duo of some kind. Going by being ~10 years old, that would place it as a Socket P or a generation older CPU.

I plugged in my icharger to recharge my lifepo4 pack and it was only charging at 500ma. I thought the charger was crap and I had to return it.

Turns out my connections were crap and not the charger. I had stuck some alligator clips directly inside my battery connector and the connection was horrible. After making a dedicated 4mm bullet to XT90 connector, we're not charging at 14 amps.
