I would've got a better looking air cooler like an Arctic Freezer 33 eSports ONE or a Dark Rock 4.

    But nice build overall!

Number will attempt to parse the whole input as a number, which may be also float, not just an int. parseInt parses the string for a number up to the first nonnumeric character. For example Number('123x') would return NaN (not a number) while parseInt('123') would return 123. If you're only ever going to input an integer they will return the same value. You could also use unary + to convert a string to an int (or float). For example, +'3'  would return 3.

    Yeah, like everyone else has said, you have to use parseInt() to convert those numbers into ints. Right now it's just treating them like strings, like if I did alert("happy " + "birthday);

IMO the fan potentially failing in a few years is not really a reason to replace it NOW, unless the noise is bothering you.  Sleeve bearings you will typically hear them wearing out giving you plenty of time to replace once its necessary, rather than wasting money today.

Personally I have only had fans fail on PSUs much older than 3 years, the ones that failed early it was always the capacitors.  The thing is, the capacitors will last longer the cooler they are, thus going for a much bigger PSU than you need can potentially extend the life of the PSU.  But if you already have one in good condition, I honestly wouldn't waste the money unless its a model with a reputation to fail badly.

An 8700K and 1080 Ti overclocked to the max on air or water might use 500W under load. A 650W PSU is already plenty.

A 650W Corsair RMx should fit in your budget just fine if you can afford a 1080 Ti and 8700K.

I mean, close chrome first then see your RAM usage. I see 25 tabs open in the screenshot. Windows will fluctuate RAM usage, but that does not look out of the ordinary to me.

steVENOM reacted to manikyath in Ram usage normal?
yes. ram that is empty is wasted, this is why windows (and some programs) will grab as much ram as they feel they can use, and parts of that can be released if necessary.

i've seen windows 10 (with nothing else notable running, so also no chrome or rainmeter ) use as much as >8GB ram, and as little as 900MB.

He could probably get a hundred mhz or so with it.

The Dark Rock Pro 4 from bequiet! and the C7 from Cryorig are also good coolers.

I'm 99% sure that cooler won't cut it unless you got lucky but still, you should look at a beefier air cooler or AIO if you want to go that route. A good air cooler is the NH-D15 from Noctua.

Nah I just like gaming at high resolutions, but if 1440p is justifiable instead of a 4k one then I'll just go with the 144hz 1440p one

steVENOM got a reaction from Canada EH in What would you upgrade next on my rig?
really? how come? is there just not a big enough of a difference? Because I feel like 4k 60 gaming is still in its early stages so I feel like 1440p would be the way to go if it still looks good

Looking at my signature, which is my build, what would you think I could upgrade to better 4k gaming performance? It is generally pretty good 60fps but in almost, all games its somewhat unstable, the degree just depends on the game itself, so what would you upgrade if you had my rig? I'm considering getting a new monitor as I am currently using a 4k 43" TV as my display, or possibly go for an oculus rift. Would you upgrade one of my internal specs, buy an actual gaming monitor (namely this one: http://www.microcenter.com/product/488461/Agon_AG271UG_27_IPS_4K_UHD_Gaming_LED_Monitor), or get a rift to try and jump into the VR side of things, I've never tried VR so that's something I would consider too. What would you do?

You already have a 1080 ti, and your cpu is no bottleneck at 4k. Thats the best that it gets unless you get sli

As someone who once had a TITAN X Maxwell SLI which is the same performance of a 1070 SLI, I was very pleased with the 1080 Ti, I think it always better go single GPU

Always go with a single better card rather than 2 lower tier cards. A single 1080ti is fine for 4k/60hz or 1440p/120hz

    tl;dr wants 4k, 1 1070 isnt enough, 2 1070s or 1 1080ti

2 1070s are close in performance to  a 1080 non ti so id say sell the 1070 and buy a 1080ti

1 card is less likely to have problems (and the extended support in games to one card) so sell the 1070 and get a 1080ti

obviously if its more conveniant for you go sli, just know that sli doesnt scale all too well with many games and is buggy at times,

Many games still don't reap benefit from SLI and don't actually utilize 2 cards.
