  1. I'll let you think about what "up to" means. Haha, you must be joking. Comparing deep diving advanced topics with getting basic terminology right. If they're going to take the time to explain #KRO they should take the time to not be blatantly wrong. Saying NKRO has a minimum of 6KRO is demonstrably false and provable with a single google search. It's absolutely exhausting talking to someone as thick headed as you. I'm not being paid so I won't waste my time if you won't actually try to understand what I'm typing. But sure whatever helps you sleep at night.
  2. This isn't being pedantic. This is pointing out that a video is dead wrong. #KRO implies that number is the amount of keys that can be reliably hit simultaneously. This is not up for debate. Just because you have no idea what you're talking about does not mean the writer is correct. I will not repeat myself further. No this is a case of spewing nonsense that's completely wrong on a channel that takes your word as authority. It's Linus' job to ensure that what he says is as accurate as possible and it's fair for people to call him out when he misses the mark.
  3. How do I respond to something when you're so clearly wrong? They mentioned 10KRO can hit up to 10 which is incorrect it's minimum. And they mentioned as a comparison that NKRO can hit at least 6 which is also wrong as NKRO is the ability to activate all keys at once. A 2KRO keyboard can hit 8 or more keys at once, the only thing it guarantees is at least 2. The IBM model M for example is a 2KRO keyboard but can hit well above that, it just depends on which keys you hit within the matrix. So no, nothing they said regarding rollover was accurate. It was about as wrong as they could have possibly been. Outside of the fact that the keyboard they reviewed was indeed not 10KRO. Pointing out that the writer of this video is wrong is not being salty.
  4. This video was pretty bad for many reasons. Main thing that got me was how incorrect the writers for this video were about 10 key rollover. 10 Key rollover is supposed to be 10 keys MINIMUM. NKey rollover on the other hand would allow you to press all keys on the keyboard at the same time; not the 6 keys minimum that was suggested in the video. The HP keyboard is actually 2 key rollover, like your average keyboard with no diodes and with an optimized matrix can be just fine like with older logitech boards (though that doesn't take away from the false advertising). Can you guys at least double check what you write before posting it? This is pretty basic stuff.
  5. As legit as anything on Amazon I guess. I don't claim to understand why people buy the things they do.
  6. 100% hardware issue. The corrupted pictures makes me think ram related but it could be anything, even power delivery.
  7. Cross reference things you might buy on Amazon with Aliexpress. You'll be impressed at how much is the same just at much cheaper prices. Tbh Aliexpress is nothing like wish, most stuff is "legit" even if it's ewaste out of the gate. The true fun stuff is on Taobao though.
  8. Quadcores are still fine but I'd never suggest anyone buy into old platforms. Getting a newer platform's motherboard and buying the quadcore from there will always feel better when you actually have an upgrade path. It largely depends on what you're doing obviously. Your average person's workflow isn't really helped much by 8 or more cores...
  9. I recommend against Core 2 machines these days because the mobos are becoming much harder to find working and are insanely expensive for what they are. I'd recommend an AM3 machine like phenom II since there's way more inexpensive boards available and the performance is better. Plus AM3+ is backwards compatible with AM3 if that's needed.
  10. While changing the psu would be fine I think hitting 90+ degrees in cyberpunk with an aio is something worth investigating. Have any other coolers to test?
  11. idk about other people but when I game I dawn a hazmat suit, gaming computers can put off lethal amounts of radiation when being pushed too hard.
  12. Looks like availability is low. Only seeing 114 USD offers which is just frankly ridiculous for a budget inwin case.
  13. Looking to put together a low power capture pc to capture archival footage for my consoles. I'm looking for a discrete case that will not be obtrusive around my tv. I know mini itx is all the rage for this stuff but I need multiple expansion slots as I use multiple capture cards for different consoles. Cooling capacity and difficulty of building are not concerns with this build.
  14. Do you have any other gpu to test? Even an old one would be sufficient.
  15. Yah my bad, I thought I had seen a couple 6500xts without it.
  16. Speaking as someone who has purchased (and flipped) mining cards in the last craze just go for it. The actual rate of failure is super low and the demand is off a cliff for these older cards since they were barely efficient at the peak.
  17. The best GPU without a 6 or 8 pin power connector is the radeon rx 6500xt. The best single slot/low profile is the rx 6400. You might also want to look for an i5 to slot in that motherboard by the way, dual cores are gonna mess up your day regardless. Assuming your psu has molex connectors on it and it's a standard case you could do molex to 8 or 6 pin pcie connectors and use a slightly bigger card and not restrict yourself to such bottom of the barrel options. The PSU is likely solid and doesn't need an upgrade otherwise.
  18. No it will impact you no matter what since the memory caching from ram to SSD is wicked slow on the base storage M2s.
  19. If the mini is anything like the m2 air it's probably not worth waiting since you will need to upgrade the storage to not get insane slowdowns. The m1 mini is probably the best value editing rig you could realistically buy.
  20. My work flows would see much less of a difference than even that, and none with the actual editing. I never work with 8k footage and I assume most others don't either.
  21. I got a few synths. Most impressive is probably the venerable Alpha Juno 2 from Roland, probably best known for its "hoover" sound. I use it mainly for ambient sound scapes. I also own a Roland Sk-88 pro keyboard which is a sample machine but is still very impressive and very fun to play with. Last and probably least I have an early 90s/late 80s Yamaha drum machine that was rescued from the actual garbage and needs some repair. It's a sample machine but they're wonderfully crunchy and it makes me smile when I use it.
  22. Bahaha what in the world am I even reading? I've recorded with many mics over the years recording music/voiceover/etc and you certainly do not need "50k worth of studio grade pro gear" to get good results. Especially in the modern era where even your entry model interfaces and mixers have extremely clean preamps with plenty of gain. If you're having issues with sound quality it comes down to the user not the mic. I could use the SM57/58 for basically anything and replace my EV mics if I had to. If you don't like the sound profile of the mics that's fine but that's purely subjective and an aspect that's super easy for prospective buyers to "experience".
  23. If the drive is hosed you can not, I'm 99% sure the computer will be unbootable if the main drive is dead even if you attempt to boot off an external.
