  1. Yep, as long as it works I have no reason to buy another one. It does what I need it to do without the limitations imposed by an overeaching corporation. That's why I stick with it, beside the fact that every phone released after have more drowbacks than advantages
  2. Exactly, still on marshmallow It lives, it works, and am not hysterical enough to live in fear of my own shadow. Keep on digging though
  3. Fairphone recently announced the successor to their phone line the FAIRPHONE 5. Sarting at 699€ the made in Europe phone brings some welcomed updates to it's SoC, camera array, design and display. But most impressive with this year's model is the announcement of a 5 years warranty and 8 years of android updates. This was made possible by working with Qualcomm and chosing as SoC the QCM6490 which Qualcomm defines as an SoC that ussualy is reserved for industrial products and therefore receives a longer support compared to the snapdragon line of SoCs. Though on the fine prints Fairphone states that they forecast at least 5 android version starting from Android 13. They remaining 3 could either be interpreted as 3 years of security patches or 3 years of Android versions. But given the comany track record the later could be more true than not. And as every fairphone before everything else holds true to the brand's mission: Repairable, modular, spare parts readily available, eco-conscious, fair trade and every other green economy term you can add to the list. My thoughts Sounds impressive, still wouldn't buy. Making the brand a more viable option than others. Also aparently fairphone is in talks with qualcomm to have a solution that would allow it's consumers to upgrade the SoC. Performance wise the QCM should be comparable to the upper midrange snapdragon SoC. Sources https://shop.fairphone.com/fairphone-5
  4. must be nice living in lala land meanwhile here i am using my 8 year old V10, for browsing, spotify, for YouTubem for WhatsApp, for Hearthstone and i've recently installed chatGPT on it, all working as intended.
  5. Ah yes, 5he let's make everything digital and have the government be omnipresent in every aspect of an individuals life. What could possibly go wrong
  6. Since when do governments check how much they spend?
  7. Deserved! they didn't do they're job before musk, or only did it when it benefited them i.e. : posting pedo content: no problem, reporting pedos: ban! .... The people doing the reporting, not the actual pedos That's what the trust and safety board amounted too before musk.
  8. And nobody does nothing to stop it just like with Twitter before the musk take over. Guess this is where they all moved out. Well this and instgrama, and tiktok, and Snapchat
  9. The incompetence within the public administration of any government in the world never cease to amaze me.
  10. Cause devices that don't really on software don't need driver updates. Goxlr is pretty much a paperweight now. A mixer that handles your inputs and output electronically without any software in the mix would keep working the same way it did 70s as it would in 2023. Can apply to mixers that saying that goes "good headphones stay good" that dankpods likes to remind everyone every time I picks up a good pair of old cans.
  11. Nah, all bad. And it's not "they aren't bad", it's "they aren't bad, yet" Want proof: looke above
  12. This should become a circle of hell in addition to Dante's interpretation of hell in the divina commedia
  13. There are people who buy PlayStations just for cod and only cod.
  14. As Linus said in the last wan show, the entitlement is strong with this one
  15. Why don't they just do lifetime pass to be like perpetual software licenses? Include X years of updates, which past that you either upgrade by buying a new perpetual license, or stay with what you got but receive no new features. It doesn't stop working and you can keep using it as is.
  16. No, no, no, Apple is not a greedy corporation that would choose to built their Mac in such a way that would almost seem that they are trying to design a product to be irepairable by the user. It's a clear engineering design choice to make the MacBook better than... Better than, uhm, better than something else. Yeah.
  17. Got curious so I went looking the communal pool of my province 50 meters pool: 8 to 10 lanes with a depth varying from 180 to 200 cm. 25 meters pool: 6 lanes, depth 130 cm There's also a baby pool with a depth of 60cm
  18. Not true American are what they are because of their own complacency, indulgence in carnal pleasure, complete lack of self restrain, lazyness. Add to those low quality food, over processed food, sugar everything. Cooking by eye balling your doses makes your more conscious about how much you eat and how much you actually want to eat. Yes I can, wanna bet? A carton of milk, i.e 1 Lt of milk, or around 5 cups of milk. The dosage pretty much makes itself right there. 500g of pasta, 5 portions of 100g of pasta. A stick of butter would be too much to split in 5 even if it was a 250g stick, but guess what it's butter, it won't spoil in the span of a couple month if not more. Cheese probably won't even be enough. There a 5 day meal prep. That built itself on it's own. And the part about milk going after hours??? Bull, that's the biggest load of bull I've ever read, and I've been in this forum for a long time now. Literally milk can go for months, before spoiling. Unless you're one of the precious ones who buys it raw straight from the cows udder. Wanna know why North American obese? Our bags are 125g Wrong Not true, I certainly don't preserve it that way, and dishes that uses milk that I prep on Sunday and end up eating the last portion, the one that was meant for Friday, on the Monday of the week later. Guess what it didn't go bad. Sound to how the majority of the world does it. Though I've moved completely to glass containers recently. Easier to clean compared to plastic topware. Fake news. Nah I'm going to be with them on this one. Nothing stops anyone from buying a screwdriver if they need one. Unless Canada doesn't have hardware stores or you live in a distopic country like the UK were you'd need a government license to buy one
  19. Good, never considered them journalist, they never were and never will be. They're just clickbait artists at best, rage baiters at worst.
