  1. Well, at least I got to watch half the video before it went private.
  2. I've got three. A 1992 model with a square gray badge, a 1987 model gray label, and a 1995 model blue label. You'd be welcome to borrow all three.
  3. Just one more reason why everybody should read through all of the fine print before agreeing to stuff. I wonder how many people have used iTunes to create Nuclear, Chemical, or Biological weapons without realizing they were violating the EULA?
  4. Maybe I need to get a friend in Canada. I live close enough to the border that I could get some Ubiquiti point to point gear and send all my traffic through Canada.
  5. I've never had an ISP require a contract on a residential connection; only business and enterprise connections. Which ISPs have contracts for residential?
  6. Wouldn't really help because ISPs can just totally block all VPN traffic, or put it in the most expensive tier.
  7. I've dropped my S7 onto a hard laminate floor from about 3.5 feet without any sort of damage. I don't know how that compares to other cases though. Maybe that's not even a very impressive drop test.
  8. I might be more interested in knowing what stores play Auld Lang Syne when closing. I worked closing shift in a grocery store and I would just make an announcement over the PA system. EDIT: Apparently it's very common in Japan. What would I do without Google?
  9. I have had that happen, and I remove the phone from the case about once a month to clean it. The dirt hasn't scratched the screen at all though, so it's not an issue for me.
  10. I've had an Otterbox Defender on my S7 since new and have no complaints with it. I've never used the other ones you mention, so I can't say how they compare.
  11. I still use the T60 daily for work. I've been trying to convince my employer that they should be providing me a new ThinkPad, but I'd probably be happier with my older one. If only Lenovo had made more than one SKU of the T25, I'd seriously try to get one of those.
  12. My current daily use ThinkPad is a T61. I also have an X201t and a T450s. If I had more money, I'd also have a lot more ThinkPads.
  13. Even today, I'd prefer the older ThinkPad to the new one. I'd bet the old one will still function perfectly the day the new one gives up.
  14. On my personal machine, I've switched to Debian for everything except games that only work in Windows. I use hardware pass through to run Windows in a VM for gaming. However, I am stuck using Windows at work all day as our environment is 99.999% Windows.
  15. I've got two Commodore 64 computers with a Commodore monitor and 5.25" floppy drive.
  16. ??? Very confused here. I don't think you know exactly what you're talking about.
  17. Whatever you do, DO NOT just expose RDP ports to the internet. That is just asking for trouble. I personally have an OpenVPN server set up for remote connections to my LAN.
  18. I was not implying that your PSU didn't have any SATA connectors, just that if it didn't have any the PSU should be replaced. As for PSUs that don't have enough SATA power, I haven't had that issue as I've only ever used modular PSUs that allowed me to plug in all SATA power rather than molex. But it can't be denied that many cheap molex to sata adapters are dangerous to use.
  19. I didn't subscribe to Netflix before this announcement, so this is definitely not going to change my mind.
  20. And burn your PC and house to the ground in the process. Honestly, if your PSU is old enough to not have any SATA power connectors, you should probably be replacing the PSU.
  21. OP needs to give us an update on what happened. Unless of course the school burned to the ground and nobody got out alive.
  22. If price wasn't a factor in determining whether products are good or not, then your statement might be true. But price does have to play a role in the determination. One must consider price in relation to other factors to determine whether a product is good.
  23. Except that Apple doesn't have any "low end" products. At least not price wise.
