Just called Lisa Su to confirm and she said yes.

If you clean the web off your PC does that make you a threadripper?

This little guy made a single thread from the top of my tower, across my chair, to the couch behind it. It's about 5 feet long. I woke up early to edit some videos but spent almost an hour taking pictures of the spider instead.
(Corsair waterblock and TridentZ RGB RAM out of focus in the background)
Sorry for the clickbait title

Curious to hear why you chose that name for the build?

GPU: EVGA GTX 1080 FTW Hybrid SLI
Cooling: Corsair H115i Push-Pull
Storage: 2x Transcend 480Gb SSD & 1TB WB Blue
PSU: EVGA 850BQ
Accessories: CableMod Black Extensions, Cheapo Asiahorse RBG Case Fans, Fake Ikea Plant, Cheapo RGB Strip
Comments:
Cable and hose management were a bit of a pain in this case. By now it is well known that the PC-O11 Dynamic has some GPU clearance issues for tall cards with waterblocks. The FTW Hybrids were no different.
At first, the hoses were pressing heavily against the glass and the panel ended up partially dettaching from the metal frame it's glued to. I removed the panel and the frame fell back into place, and since the glue was still sticky it held on pretty well. After a few hours worth of planning I was able to route the hoses in a way to minimize contact with the panel.

HotDiggityDaffodil got a reaction from MrRavens in When you have a small case, but AIO cooling is life
I got a little carried away with my setup and ended up having to remove the cable management bar from my S340 to fit additional fans for push-pull with the H115i. I also had to put the fan for one of the GPUs outside of the case, on top.
EDIT: added new picture with better cacle management and plant on top.

lmfao, you aren't kidding about loving AIO coolers haha. It's every god damn where in that case haha.

Thanks! I see low to mid-40s during games, but I've been keeping the glass panel off so it doesn't press against the hoses. With the panel on, it reaches around 52C.

HotDiggityDaffodil got a reaction from diyathn in Which GPU to buy ? GTX 1080Ti vs GTX 1080
Yes, 650W is fine for your build. If you need room to grow later, like getting a second card to SLI, you should consider 850W.

HotDiggityDaffodil got a reaction from diyathn in Which GPU to buy ? GTX 1080Ti vs GTX 1080
The 1080ti has more memory, which can be useful in deep learning.

HotDiggityDaffodil got a reaction from sarfraz in Should I buy gtx 1080 ti now?
AIB Vega cards probably won't be out until late August. If you get a 1080ti now, you'll be able to game for two whole months. Now, suppose the 1080ti drops 10% when Vega launches. That's like $70-80 less. The question you have to ask yourself is whether gaming for two months with an awesome card and monitor worth $80.

HotDiggityDaffodil got a reaction from Yoo Song Won in I've owned 5 graphics cards in 11 months.
I became a PC gamer last summer when I bought an RX 480 on launch day. A week later I found out about the power issues the cards were having, so I returned it to Microcenter. I then purchased a GTX 1060 mini and an Ultrawide monitor (which I later found out to have Freesync, *facepalm*). Screen tearing really bothered me, though, so I started using Vsync. However, the 1060 couldn't keep above 60fps in all games, so I was getting a lot of stuttering. I ended up selling it about two months later and got meself a 1070 from Jet for $350.
All was well for a few months, until I tested an RX 470 for a friend of mine with my Freesync monitor. I was hooked right away. Not only was Freesync awesome, but the monitor got bumped to 75hz. And somehow, gaming on an RX 470 felt better than the 1070 with that monitor. Weeks later I was able to sell my GTX 1070 abroad for $425 and bought an RX 480 Strix OC for $214 after a $30 rebate, and spent the $211 surplus on a new case, memory and ssd upgrades.
Fast forward to this week, I sold my RX 480 on Ebay to some Ethereum miner for $340 after fees and shipping, and got a refurbished GTX 1080 FTW for $450. I'll use the card for mining for a few weeks to pay for the $110 difference. Also, the monitor is still 75hz without the RX 480, so that's great too.
There's no point to this story, I just thought I'd share it with you guys. I confess I may be a little addicted to pc building, but aren't we all.

HotDiggityDaffodil got a reaction from Zangashtu in AMD Vega
There's a reason why we learn math in high school. You could have answered your own question with simple calculations.
Suppose that indeed there is a Vega card equivalent to the 1080ti for $600. We know from benchmarks that the 1080ti is about 30% faster than the GTX 1080, so presumably the top Vega card would be about 30% better as well. Coincidentally, a card that costs $600 is 33% more expensive than a card that costs $450, so the performance per dollar of a GTX 1080 at $450 is the same as that of our hypothetical Vega card at $600.
Realistically speaking, the 1080 is a better deal right now for the simple reason that it actually exists, so keep your card and be happy.
